m. reading has been 174. seems like no matter how few carbs i eat the readings are still high. what is going on with me.

I've been off the Paxil for a month now and the flushing/sweating has totally stopped(2-3 weeks ago) and my fasting blood sugar readings have dropped to between 110-101. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking that the Paxil was somehow affecting my readings and when I was good then my sugar dropped too low, hence the flushing/sweating. Anyway, thank you for any input...
If not and you keep seeing highs as well as lows, then it is time to see a different doctor or an endocrinologist who is more skilled with blood sugar issues than regular doctor. (and who knows that anything above 140 is a problem, not above 190!
I guess it boils down to the fact that I'm worried my liver or pancreas might not be up to par due to my youthful partying. All other lab work is great. Blood Pressure 110/65. Iron levels are good. We suspect my dad has Hemochromatosis. In your opinion can I prevent Type 2 by my healthy lifestyle? Or at least delay it for many years? Also my HDL seems to be going up since I stopped high carbs and trans fats. Could it be lower because of genetics. My aunts is only 36. My moms is 41.

Its hard to say since you didn't mention when you were taking theses readings or what you diet has been. What are you readings when you feel crummy and after "When I eat something, I feel better within 20 minutes." Knowing what these are will assist us better in answering your question.
High blood sugar, if this is what your husband has, ARE a sign of diabetes. They are usually not a sign of anything else (unless someone is sick or on steroids, in which case levels can be temporarily high). Initially they can be the only obvious sign, which is why it is so important that people have diabetes screening at their annual checkups. Lowering them will do more to prevent complications than anything else. 150 is not a low blood sugar for anyone, it's on the high side of normal. The symptoms you are feeling when your blood sugars get down to 150 may be related to your body adjusting to more normal blood sugars and away from the higher ones. Depending on how you are losing weight (diet and exercise versus some kind of drug or medication), it may be related to that, but it's hard to say without knowing the how.

HI, You are right it is fasting blood sugar what I was asking checking blood in the morning without having breakfast or anything.....by the way I had a glass of Tomato juice previous day before the test....there might be quite a lot of sugar....in the juice..! But please let me know is this levels are of that particular night which shows in the morning or is it considered as an average level or capacity?
