Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar range for test

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn Usually, fasting begins at midnight for a test the next day. Your sugar by the standards of your lab states it was high on your first test. The repeat is normal. I am not sure if that was a fluke. I'd probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.

Avatar f tn So because I threw up during the 3hr glucose test, I have to check my blood sugar levels at home for a week. So just curious what is the normal range? I have to check it when I wake up and 1-2 hrs after every meal.
Avatar f tn It may help. But you might have a mild case of gestational diabetes. I failed my first one too didn't take the three hour test because the 1 hr was too much sugar for me and I got extremely sick. So they are treating me as if I have GD. The duet us hard at first but you get use to it fast. I regret not eating healthier earlier on in my pregnancy, but that doesn't mean it would have changed anything. My body just isn't producing enough insulin.
Avatar f tn m not sure but I think white blood cell counts when they are over range can be really over range. (For instance when there is an infection or trauma of some sort. That what I read, I think you need a doctor to go over these with you. Otherwise there isn't a history to go along with the lab results. They can mean different things depending. Are these your labs? Or a family members?
Avatar n tn You will probably need to eat a certain amount of calories each day and make sure your blood sugars are in the normal range. Your weight loss may have been pre-diagnosis and once your blood sugars are in the normal range, you will be able to gain weight again.
3191241 tn?1345032381 Well, just to be on the side of caution, your doctor may want to order an HgA1c to get a bigger picture. I don't believe your blood sugar number in that instance even falls into the criteria of pre-diabetes, but the HgA1c would tell more about how you're doing. Peripheral neuropathy is a common problem in those with diabetes, so if you have the neuropathy, they might have been testing your blod sugar to try to rule diabetes out.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar m tn s an underlying physiological condition such as blood sugar or hormonal problems, nobody knows.
Avatar f tn as an rn, we had to check peoples blood sugar 4 x day. per the lab reports the normal range was 60-110. we as nurses never gave the patient insulin unless they were over 120. your blood sugars aer in the norm range. any lower and you would be hypoglycemic. the A1c test is done separetly from your cbc. this test gives the avaerage your blood sugar has been running over the past 2-3 months.
Avatar m tn s Thyroiditis, that is dumping excessive thyroid hormone into her system. So the first thing I would do is to go to her doctor and request to be re-tested for TSH, Free T4 and Free T3, to confirm prior results. Along with those tests, I would request a TSI test for Graves' and for the Hashimoto's there are two tests required: Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies and Thyroglobulin antibodies. They are usually listed as TPO ab and TG ab. Those test results should clarify what is going on.
Avatar f tn Meanwhile I need a little clarification on what you are saying. You are saying that you test the blood sugar one minute and then a minute later you test again and it drops down. How much does it drop down by? Meters are not exact within a range of as much as twenty points, so if it is less than that it might just be the meter.
Avatar f tn salad, grilled fajita chicken, small amounts of cheese and sour cream, 3 oz guacamole, 2 chicken flautas. Took my blood sugar and it was 67. What does this mean?
Avatar f tn All of the blood work that I have had done in the past two months (comprehensive metabolic panel, CBC w/o Diff, anti-nuclear antibody screen, rheumatoid factor and Lipid Panel) all had results in a normal range except for the repeat test for glucose and my LDLC cholesterol which is borderline high of 138.

Avatar n tn 4% equates to daily blood sugar of 108 mg/dl [6 mmol/l], prediabetes. Normal blood sugar range is 60/70 to 99 mg/dl [3.33/3.88 to 5.5 mmol/l].
Avatar n tn However at this range it is also better to start with medications for diabetes to bring down the blood sugar levels. Please consult an endocrinologist for the same. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be? I go to the Dr tomorrow so I will ask him, but I'm just curious.
Avatar m tn What is your blood sugar and did you test it before eating anything in the morning or did you test it soon after eating (like 1 or 2 or 3 hours after eating)?
Avatar m tn The A1C is a blood test, It test your blood sugar average over several months, This is how the doctor can see how your sugar has been over a small period of time, it gives them more information than just a fasting.
