Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn Usually, fasting begins at midnight for a test the next day. Your sugar by the standards of your lab states it was high on your first test. The repeat is normal. I am not sure if that was a fluke. I'd probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.

Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Notwithstanding, some people find a small snack before doing to bed lowers their fasting blood sugar. Ideally, it should be protein based snack. Check out "The Blood Sugar Solution", by M. Hayman, MD. He's got some other good tips for management.
Avatar n tn My blood sugar fasting is 88 and post prandial is 107.Am I suffering from diabetes? What can I do to reduce the sugar levels further. Please advise.
Avatar f tn I have been monitoring my blood sugars at home since at a doctor visit my fasting glucose was 135. Every morning in the past week I have taken it (on empty stomach) it has been in the 130's, only one time it was 114. All throughout the day it is between 129 and 158, sometimes it is 192, 263. I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar f tn And regarding my son, 12 and 18 are not sugar fasting and pp, its insulin fasting and pp..and these insulin levels r more than the range. So why his insulin levels r above the range n his pp sugar is also less than fasting.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar f tn M 29 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. My fasting blood sugar came as 103, and my doctor has put me on gestational diabetes diet. Other day I was talking to a friend who had gestational diabetes(GDM),she said range for pregnant women is till 110. The time from when I have started GDM diet,I feel really low on energy. Any of you on GDM diet facing such issues? I have to get rechecked in a few days,so m strictly following the diet with absolutely no sugar and really low carbs...
Avatar m tn My doctor just started me on Tricor and my blood sugar levels have gone up as well. Prior to being on Tricor, my fasting blood sugar has always been between 89 and 101. Now they range from 119 to 125. Any thoughts on alternative medications to lower high tryglicerides?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in March of this year. My A1C was 7.8. I was given Metformin to take 2x Daily. They told me they wanted my fasting blood sugar to be 70 - 110, but I can't remember what they told me the range should be 2 hours after eating. I am only suppose to check my blood sugars once a day so I try to do it at a different time every day and I just can't remember what they told me what they should be after eating. Oh, and my A1C was down to 6.
Avatar n tn Go see your doctor and get tested, at least get the HgbA1c test. A fasting test only measures that moment at the time of the test not over period of days. The A1c goes back three months. The latter will determine whether you are a diabetic and/or a candidate. This site will show you a range of 'normal' glucose ranges and as you will see they drift all over the place from a low of 70 up to 160 depending on when you test. http://tinyurl.
875426 tn?1325528416 But while you had cited the reference range for a fasting blood sugar test which had the bottom number of the range as 60 and did not at first very specifically apply it to a random blood sugar specimen in a previous post, in a later post, you went on to say 67 is not considered low, hence the clarifying question I asked you.
Avatar n tn We're not physicians, but have a lot of collective experience with diabetes. Please go further than your current doctor for a careful medical workup. Ask for a referral to an endocrinologist for a second opinion right away. While labs vary in what the "normal" range of a1c should be, in the lab work I've done recently your numbers are higher than the normal range.
