Avatar f tn d probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Well I found out the next day my blood pressure was high. It has been fine since. But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be?

Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.

Avatar n tn Why is it that my blood sugar is higher in the morning than it was prior to going to bed the night before? For example: At night it may read 115 (this is approx. 4 hours after dinner, and no snacking). THEN - first thing in the morning, before I've had anything to eat it reads 135. After having breakfast, right before lunch time it may be 85-90. Thanks for your feedback.
1058898 tn?1275675151 I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar n tn Thanks, I never thought about the sugar going up in the morning being turned around bt actually eating. Bang! I could have had a v8!
Avatar n tn s a much less common phenomenon called Somogyi effect where a waking high blood sugar results from our blood sugar having plummeted overnight -- then the liver causes glucose to be released to counteract that low. Here is a good explanation offered by someone at UCSD: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/diabetes/faq/part2/section-13.html While I'm not a physician (no one here is), I've learned how to "test" what's going on.
180395 tn?1287493997 Yes, you need some ready sugar / candy when you do have low blood sugar, but complex carbs at other meals to help keep things steady. Small snacks between meals may also help.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn Hmm, sorry but I guess I do not understand. Your post says that the discussion is related to "fasting blood sugar levels high in the morning" but all of your information relates to testing blood after meals. Guess that for me it cannot be both. My Diabetes Nurse's instructions for morning fasting blood test are to test the blood "when you awake, before eating or any medication".
Avatar n tn m trying to understand why 2 hours after meals my blood sugar is typically between 70 and 90 but nearly every morning after fasting all night it's typically 102-115. I've read about the dawn phenomenon and wonder if this is the cause. Does anyone know how to help control the dawn phenomenon?
325405 tn?1262290178 My Metformin increased to 1000mg one month later and then in December my insulin was tested again it was finally normal. My morning blood sugar readings are now between 95 and 105 but if I don't take the Metformin they go up to 115 to 120. I don't test alot during the day but on those times I have after a meal I'm usually in the 120's. What was your diagnosis of Type 2 based on? Did you have the 2 or 3 hours glucose test? Sounds like your doing great managing your numbers!
Avatar n tn is commonly associated with two conditions. Spinal stenosis and diabetes. With abnormal blood sugar levels in the morning the osmolality of tisues are affected, which causes fluid to exert pressure on nerves, causing numbness. After breakfast, as the sugar levels improves, the pressure relaxes and the numbness disappears. Thus, the first tests to take with "morning numbness" (assuming it is not positional are blood glucose and an hbcA1c.
Avatar f tn I have an avacado, a Healthy Choice fudgesicle and some peanuts. Took my blood sugar this morning and it 141 fasting! Usually about 115 otherwise. Do you think I overate? My blood sugar was at 105 at 2:00 PM before eating.
Avatar n tn I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and all I want to do is eat but I'm sick to my stomach all the time. I'm also diabetic trying to get my blood sugar under control any help would be appreciated!
Avatar f tn You should contact your doctor and ask him/her to order appropriate blood tests. Then, IF, your overnight fasting blood sugar level is above normal your doctor will determine if you are diabetic and what medicines, diet, and exercise you should follow to control your illness.
Avatar m tn IT IS THE BEST THING FOR US IN A LONG TIME. I SUGGESTED TO ADD A BLOOD SUGAR TRACKER YESTERDAY. TODAY I AM SUGGESTING A FEATURE TO HELP ACUTE DIABETICS. THE TRACKER SHOULD HAVE PRESET SAMPLE TIMES AT: (1) BEFORE 1st MEAL (2) AFTER 1st MEAL (3) MID MORNING (4) BEFORE NOON MEAL (5) AFTER NOON MEAL (6) MID AFTERNOON (7) BEFORE LAST MEAL (8) AFTER LAST MEAL (9) AT BEDTIME.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
