Avatar n tn At dinner I ate lasagna, salad, sweet tea. Anyway 30-45 minutes after dinner, my blood sugar was 118. Is this normal or does it seem kind of high? At the doctor last year fasting it was 91. Also, I have been suffereing from severe fatigue after my long runs and have to basically sit down for the rest of the day which I hate. I am going to start to check my blood sugar after these runs to see what it is. I eat alot after the long runs but it does not seem to help.
Avatar m tn You may wish to get a home blood sugar meter and monitor after carby meals from time to time to be sure your numbers are not too high / rising over time. pre and post eating numbers are ideally similar if one is non-diabetic. Numbers consistently higher than 125 would be cause for further investigation / and changing diet / consideration of meds. Please come back and let us know your hba1c numbers, and how you are going.
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar f tn They will give u diet restrictions & have u monitor and chart ur blood sugar levels every day.
Avatar m tn Would checking your blood sugar level 3 hours after a meal be considered "BEFORE" OR "AFTER" a Meal.
Avatar f tn s another flipping test! I failed the first one hour blood sugar test and passed the first three hour blood sugar test. Today I've failed the second one hour blood sugar test and they are pressuring me to do the second three hour sugar test (which is horrible!!!) Seriously?! I've got 10 more weeks to go and it's so muggy here and I'm so nauseated again and they gotta make me sit in some crappy waiting room for three hours trying not to vomit up this sugar drink or crap my pants!
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
798555 tn?1292787551 s tough to use herbs when you have diabetes anyway -- especially Type !. Because you have to monitor your blood sugar, using herbs that lower blood sugar require a lot of monitoring, and if people don't do it they can go too low. As for you, Gym is right, diet is by far the most important factor. It and exercise will determine if you go diabetic or not, not the thyroid. Personally, because you have the Hashimotos, I'd consult a naturopath and a physician who is open to herbs.
233552 tn?1228319699 I went to the doc today and he gave me my results....my blood sugar is 217. I knew that this would happen again but I wanted it to wait another month or two. My doc is going to put me on a diet after this weekend. I told him that you can't put a pregnant woman on a diet and he laughed right along with me. Then he said oh yes I can. Silly doctors. Baby's heartbeat still in the 160's and get U/S next month to find out what I'm having and I can't wait.
Avatar f tn I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar n tn I generally (but not always) wake up a tad lower than I go to bed, but some people also have something called Dawn Phenomenon (sp?) where their blood sugar will continue rising in the morning until they eat. Diabetes and blood sugar is a pretty complex thing and many things vary between people and even at different times for one person.
Avatar f tn I have mine blood sugar test in 2 days. I'm so nervous. Any suggestions ...
Avatar n tn If you have a diabetic specialist ask them. If not, you should engage one. There are CRNP's that have taken on this specialty. It's important to have a medical relationship with your health care professional either doctor or nurse.
