Avatar f tn After leaving school the 3rd time I randomly checked his blood sugar. I am hypoglycemic so I have a monitor. 3 hours after his lunch he was 190. he has had fastings of 180,165,150, The last 2 days he has been 225+ 2 hours after his meals. But he will have a few days where he is fine running around 115. This has been a testing span of 15 days. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Avatar n tn since i have been planning on having a baby,i have to monitor my blood suger levels on two accounts the have gone up to 8, and 9points.the doctor has told me b.s have to be in normal range if not i will be put on insulin for my pregnancy and then after birth i can stop and continue diet control again, but i am worried if my body gets used to insulin how will i manage without it .
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar f tn I have a MiniMed pump and was excited to learn that they had this new device available. Then I would know exactly when my blood sugar was getting to high or to low and I could take care of it that very second. Especially when I am trying conceive and during the pregnancy I think I would really help make sure I had a healthy baby. I contacted MiniMed about it. The found out that my insurance does not cover the device, nor the monthly supplies for it.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn When I wake up my blood sugars are in the mid 50s. After breakfast they hover around 76 or 82. They rarely ever go above 86 ever. Once a day they may hit 115 if I eat bread ..stay there briefly to go back down to the 70s. I am not on a specialty diet nor do I do keto. I usually eat a lot of fruit and seafood. Once average my glucose monitor tells me my daily averages are around 75. What do you think I have? Am I in a pre-diabetic state and my panaceas is just pumping out insulin?
Avatar n tn In normal children blood sugar will stay close to fasting levels all the time. Ie. his blood sugar is probably in the range of 70 to 90, regardless of what he eats. Actually in non-diabetic adults blood sugar will also stay close to fasting levels all the time.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Tbd Hi. So, a glucose meter using a finger tip prick or a continuous glucose monitor is best for checking blood sugar. Of course, that's after you are diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to that, blood work ordered by your doctor will reveal your sugar levels. https://diabetes.
Avatar n tn Hi, Can I ask what insulins you take? Are you on pump or MDI (multiple daily injections). Is your basal insulin taken once or twice a day. If you are going low from exercise, you may need to decrease your basal (this is easier if you are on a pump). Alternatively you may plan your exercise after eating and inject slightly less than usual insulin for the meal, as the exercise will naturally bring your blood sugars down.
180395 tn?1287493997 Once before breakfast and once before lunch. So I decided to buy a glucose monitor to check to see if maybe low blood sugar was the culprit. Well this morning before I bought it I came to work, had 2 donuts for breakfast (this isnt an everyday thing, someone just decided to be nice and bring some to work this morning) then I had 2 cups of coffee with creamer that contains sugar and on the way to work this morning I had a large cup of sweet tea.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar f tn s. We were able to come home yesterday and continue to monitor her blood suagrs at home which are still in the upper 130's. We do have an appt. with a ped. endo. but just wondering what could be going on. Could this be very early onset of Type 1 diabetes? Thank you!
1947337 tn?1331423890 I slept til almost 3 and i had to just force myself to get up and unlock the door for my son. All i could think of was to check my blood sugar (i have a maachine from yrs ago when i had gest diab but have never had any other prob that i know of. Anyway, it was 56 which i think is low so i ate a couple of spoonsful of pb and drank a dr pepper. Waited 45 min and checked it again, it went up to 72.
