Avatar n tn According to latest scientific studies, vinegar reduces the rise of blood sugar levels after you have eaten a meal and when taken at bed time, vinegar lowers morning blood sugar levels. The vinegar tonic restricts the absorption of high-carbohydrate foods which lessens the blood sugar increase that usually happens after a meal.

At this point in time his blood sugar level was at 600, after receiving an IV of saline it went down to 300 (which is not great, but better). The next morning we took him to specialist, and he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Avatar f tn Carb counting is a fairly simple way of quantifying the effects that different foods with have on blood sugar levels. Because all carbohydrates (except for fiber) will convert to blood glucose, adding up the carbs in a meal or snack allows us to determine its effect on blood sugar. Those who take rapid-acting insulin at mealtimes can match the dose to the amount of carbohydrate using an "insulin-to-carb" ratio.
Avatar f tn I just found out some exciting information and have been using it with success for a few days! Vinegar, google vinegar and blood sugars. Two tablespoons before meals has great lowering effects on blood glucose spikes after meals. Just wanted to share!
Avatar f tn I am not diagnosed diabetes but My Dcotor warned me that my A1C test is owards highr side, its 6.0; My fasting sugar levels are around 80 so that part is good; To bring my A1C level down, I have been very careful in my diet for the last 3 months; cut down my sugar intake over 90 %, The 10% is the sugar that comes in food naturally (no artificial sugar); I am under weight by my age and height and very slim; However, after 3 months of so much care, when the A1C test is repeated, its still at 6.
Tbd Eat grapes and drink raw apple cider vinegar. They have special chemicals that balance out sugar levels in the body. Really quite incredible. Any type of grapes.
Avatar n tn Dr Ramsetty- There seems to be a fair amount of conflicting information on the web as to whether adding apple cider vinegar and / or cinnamon to ones diet can help in blood sugar control. I would certainly consider adding both of these things to my diet if they would assist. Do you have any advice?
Avatar f tn You will be put onto a low sugar diet, asked to monitor your own blood sugar levels and possibly given medication, either on way of tablets or if needed, insulin injections. Try not to worry, the hospital will explain everything in detail to you and help to get used to the new lifestyle that you will have to follow between now and when your baby arrives.
Avatar f tn Careful with the apple cider vinegar. While for some it is appropriate, for others it isn't.
325405 tn?1262290178 I also know that gestational diabetes is more strict with blood sugar levels than regular type II diabetes. Now that I have type II, what are the ranges to aim for for blood sugar levels for fasting and then for 2 hours after a meal? Right now, I'm testing about 100 to 110 in the morning and about 110 to 130 after meals. If I forget to take my metformin at night, my fasting level is usually around 120 to 130. But, with the medicine it is 100 to 110 fasting. Is this good?
Avatar m tn You could also ask your doctor about the option fror starting on insulin. Actual ideal blood sugar levels should be in the range of 80 - 120 all the time. Fasting should be < 100. You are only 50, young, and it is important to control your diabetes well to be sure you don't face complications down the line. Diet for diabetes should be low carb / high fat / moderate protein. This is the most recent recommendation. You can research this online easily.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar n tn If I get up and check my blood sugar levels and I'm 105. After I have breakfast should I take my Metformin even though my sugar level is good?
Avatar n tn Hello, Definitely your blood sugar levels are raised. First of you need to start exercising and do brisk wals for atleast 45 min per day. A diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fiber-containing foods, and low-fat milk is advised. Consumption of foods with a low glucose levels appears to reduce postprandial glucose rise and improve glycemic control. Reduced calorie and nonnutritive sweeteners are useful.

107366 tn?1305680375 I've been hearing a lot about the benefits of vinegar, organic apple cidar vinegar in particular, and how it can help stabilize blood sugar. I know it has other benefits as well, but I'm curious to see if anyone has used it for blood sugar stabilization, and what results, if any, you got from it. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm only 8 weeks pregnant and my OB blood work showed my sugar levels were high. So now I'm going on 3 wks of testing my glucose levels 4x a day and logging my food. My fasting levels are consistently high...but not by much. I seems like everyone else is way further along in there pregnancy that is dealing with this. I guess my question is has anyone else been diagnosed with gestational diabetes during there first trimester?
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
