325405 tn?1262290178 Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. I had gestational diabetes several years ago (gestational diabetes was covered 100% for supplies and visits), so I am aware of how to do all the blood testing and have been doign fine about that.
Avatar m tn PART 6 liver is loaded with zinc, which is essential for keeping testosterone levels up and prevents your body from converting T into estrogen. Beef liver is also high in Vitamin B12, a deficiency of which has been lined to erectile dysfunction. Eggs, choline, a powerful natural chemical that not only burns fat but can help set you afire. Avatar m tn You could also ask your doctor about the option fror starting on insulin. Actual ideal blood sugar levels should be in the range of 80 - 120 all the time. Fasting should be < 100. You are only 50, young, and it is important to control your diabetes well to be sure you don't face complications down the line. Diet for diabetes should be low carb / high fat / moderate protein. This is the most recent recommendation. You can research this online easily.
Avatar n tn Hello, Definitely your blood sugar levels are raised. First of you need to start exercising and do brisk wals for atleast 45 min per day. A diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fiber-containing foods, and low-fat milk is advised. Consumption of foods with a low glucose levels appears to reduce postprandial glucose rise and improve glycemic control. Reduced calorie and nonnutritive sweeteners are useful.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.

Avatar n tn If I get up and check my blood sugar levels and I'm 105. After I have breakfast should I take my Metformin even though my sugar level is good?
Avatar f tn To keep from further nueropothy problems make sure you are taking the best care of yourself and keep your blood sugar within normal ranges. I know at times this is hard to do, but you have to remember what I always tell people, Diabetes will kill you a little each day if you do not take care of yourself, it is as much a silent killer as high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn Yes, high blood sugar levels can cause loss of sex drive in females, although we hear more about impotence in diabetic men. Here is a web site that explains some of the issues that can affect diabetic women: http://diabetes.about.com/cs/sexuality/a/aafemalesexdysf.htm Also, I would recommend that you speak with your Ob/Gyn doctor about this issue, for hormonal imbalance can be the cause of your problems also.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn i am not diabetic but for some reason, for the.oast couple weeks i have been monitoring my blood sugar and its all over the place. the highest ive noticed was 281 after a big dinner and 2 minutes later it drops down to 113. any other ones are like, 232, 158 but i dont feel anything weird in my body at all. but my blood sugar when i woke up yesterday morning was 97 that was before breakfast. pls if u know anything about this, give an advice on wut to do.
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar n tn Is 130 high for blood sugar?
Avatar n tn I had a test 4 weeks later and it was –ve. But 2 days ago I had my blood sugar tested and it was surprisingly high (still within the average), my question is: 1. can HIV affect the blood sugar and raise it (if its there)? 2. can the high blood sugar rate affect the accuracy of the test I did? 3. what is my risk factor? 4. do you recommend another test?
Avatar f tn Sounds like a call to your doctor that manages your blood sugar levels would be a wise thing to do, Tooter. Surely better to be safe than sorry, huh?

72351 tn?1281992542 ) I just have a question as to how high ones sugar should be right after eating. I have been sick with walking pneumonia for the past few days and have been mostly drinking alot of orange juice (the medication I am having to take for it is making me really thirsty!
Avatar n tn He may be suffering from what is known as hypoglycemic unawareness, which happens when a person has a number of lows so close together that the body can't really recover from one before another happens. It really is up to your son to take care of the problem, but he may not really be having warning symptoms when he drops low. The solution is to ask him to test more often, say every 2-3 hours, until he is able to go 2 weeks without any lows. That will help him recover his warning symptoms.
Avatar n tn Testing anytime is not a good idea as it fails to provide an accurate insight on your blood sugar levels. Also, be certain to sterilized your test site prior to using a lancet to avoid contamination, or you will end up with inaccurate results. Lastly, I suggest you see your doctor for an A1c [HbA1c, HgbA1c, HA1c] test. The A1c measures your blood sugars over the past 2-3 months and provides a better idea if you are a diabetes candidate or not.
