Actually, if you want to have 'excellent' blood sugar control that is as close to normal as possibel 142 is not acceptable. Considering that people without diabetes will rarely have readings higher than 100 ever. To avoid complications the best plan is to keep blood sugars as close to truely normal as possible. This will prevent complications. Your 142 is a wakeup call.

However, if you can get a blood sugar test kit (and strips) you could test fasting blood sugar (as soon as you wake up and before eating), and 2 hours after meals. If these numbers are high, then you would need to see a doctor. Keep an eye out, there may be free blood sugar testing offered by some pharmacies / in malls from time to time. Why do you think you have diabetes? WHat are your symptoms?

At dinner I ate lasagna, salad, sweet tea. Anyway 30-45 minutes after dinner, my blood sugar was 118. Is this normal or does it seem kind of high? At the doctor last year fasting it was 91. Also, I have been suffereing from severe fatigue after my long runs and have to basically sit down for the rest of the day which I hate. I am going to start to check my blood sugar after these runs to see what it is. I eat alot after the long runs but it does not seem to help.

Sounds like an infection, although what is the difficult to part. Either Yeast, UTI or BV. There are kits you can get to test yourself OTC--or if you choose you can see a doctor.

There are many self testing kits available in the market for testing blood sugar. Also if eating and drinking something helps then it could be low sugar or GERD. Hypothyroidism too can behave this way. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss the possibilities with your PCP and get investigated accordingly. Hi i m male 29.weight 95 kg.my question is regarding my blood sugar.5 days ago randomly after heavy dinner i checked my bs and home gluco meter said 225 after almost 2 hours.then i checked half hour later and it was 182 after 3 and half hours it was 103.225 was high so in morning i went to lab with gluco meter and they picked blood from vein and tested on gluco meter ist it was 103 and in lab 87.lab technician told me that go home eat drink tea with sugar and come back after two hours.

My question is does anyone know what it should be? I go to the Dr tomorrow so I will ask him, but I'm just curious.

Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.

For the past week or so there has been a couple of times where I feel very weak and my hands start to shake. I know it means my blood sugar is low so I will try to hurry up and eat something. HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
