Avatar f tn m looking for information on what levels of blood sugar typically result in glycation. I have not seen my blood sugar go over 127, and I'm wondering what level I should be keeping it under in order to lower my Hgba1c. If it is becoming elevated to the 90's overnight is that causing glycation? Should I be looking for spikes that occur within an hour of eating?
Avatar m tn HI my doctor has asked me to take another blood test after 3 months. I have started using Fenugreek seeds in the morning and do get random tests done 2 Hours after eating the other day i did a full plasma Random glucose test the result was 116. Lets see if I can lower my levels from the original 128 Fasting. Will keep you posted. Btw I am travelling to my native land hence the delay in replying to your post. Thanks a Lot for all the help.
Avatar f tn However, your body can also break down protein to make glucose, and obviously there is some glucose in your body because your blood sugar levels are stable. On your ketogenic diet your levels are totally normal. However, on this diet there is very little demand on your pancreas. if you increase your carbs, depending on the health of your pancreas, you may or may not have high blood sugar levels. So we cannot know if you are diabetic. You do not have diabetic numbers on this diet.
Avatar n tn Thanks, I never thought about the sugar going up in the morning being turned around bt actually eating. Bang! I could have had a v8!
Avatar n tn Why is it that my blood sugar is higher in the morning than it was prior to going to bed the night before? For example: At night it may read 115 (this is approx. 4 hours after dinner, and no snacking). THEN - first thing in the morning, before I've had anything to eat it reads 135. After having breakfast, right before lunch time it may be 85-90. Thanks for your feedback.
Avatar f tn Well I found out the next day my blood pressure was high. It has been fine since. But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be?
Avatar n tn The morning blood sugar is a fasting blood sugar and tells the doctor how your body reacts with out food. The body releases hormones (growth etc.), while the body is at rest. Most hormones are glucose based and can affect blood sugar that is why when women menstruate and children have growth spurts their blood sugars and insulin dosages need to be changed. I would suggest you ask your doctor what blood sugar range he would like you to be in and what you could do to be in better control.
Avatar f tn Does blood sugar gets higher as u progress in ur pregnancy?
Avatar n tn Hmm, sorry but I guess I do not understand. Your post says that the discussion is related to "fasting blood sugar levels high in the morning" but all of your information relates to testing blood after meals. Guess that for me it cannot be both. My Diabetes Nurse's instructions for morning fasting blood test are to test the blood "when you awake, before eating or any medication".
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Hi, in my experience it v is nut just carbs but also total calories, and physical activity that affect your blood sugar. You need to look at pattern over time rather than just 1 or 2 days, results. Stick with low carb, exercise, and keep monitoring.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing elevated blood sugar levels in the morning. What I find puzzling is that my level can raise by as many as 100 points overnight, even though I haven't eaten anything since 8:00 the night before. Is there anyone else that is experiencing this problem? If so, is there anything that can be done other than taking more insulin before bedtime?
Avatar n tn All of my number are ok EXCEPt my fasting blood sugar. I'm not in any medication.
Avatar n tn In the morning they are lower 100's for example, today was 112. Never higher than 130. I've been on my long acting plan for some time now it's 20 of Lantas around 9 p.
304573 tn?1345577338 i have maintained healthy levels until the last few weeks and find my testing is showing higher than normal levels 3 hours after eating...also waking up with elevated levels in the morning(fasting)...just curious if the tx is exaserbating this or if i am slowing sinking into the type 2 which almost makes no sense as I am now eating for once in my life healthy and appropriately....
Avatar f tn I am a type II diabetic and I would like to know what is considered a "good" blood sugar reading for me when I test at different times of the day....before meals, after meals, fasting in the morning, at bedtime and other random times during the day.
Avatar n tn Found it: 6.2 A1C is an average blood sugar of 131. Your typical blood sugars sound a bit higher than that, so I'm wondering if they have gone up recently and that A1C is older. Again, A1Cs are just an average and lows could skew it. Your daily numbers tell the story and if those are consistent then you want them lower. Doctors, unfortunately, have higher goals because the ADA is behind on what blood sugars should be and that is their guidelines.
173119 tn?1296999736 I am pre-diabetic, and I was wondering if it was normal for blood sugars to be a bit higher when suffering from an illness, like a cold. I have a cold right now, and my blood glucose levels have been testing slightly higher since I have been sick. Will they go back down after the cold is gone? My fasting glucose this morning was 133 and it is usually around 110 to 112. And my 2 hr post-prandial glucose after lunch today was 133.
Avatar n tn My blood sugar is higher before i eat then it is 20 minutes after. today it was 482 before and 299 after?
Avatar f tn i have GD & they want me to test my blood sugar 2 hours after eating, & it should be under 120. some say 130. when fasting, or waking up in the morning it should be between 60-90.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
Avatar n tn If u are diabetic and fasting sugar is high in morning use diamicron in the medicine along with metformin.
Avatar n tn Your higher end of your sugar readings are concerning and would in my opinion move you up in terms of care you need. If they stay up at 240, I'd even consider going the emergency route. Not to alarm you. But your health is of utmost important here. Another way to move around waiting is to call your ob and relay your numbers (the higher end). Are you on medication?
