Avatar m tn after a drop from exercise, after I stop exercising, if I wait 15 minutes, my sugar will be 10 points higher (without having eaten anything at all). Another 15 minutes it will be 5-10 points higher still (again, no food/juice).
Avatar m tn My daughter is 16 and is a very brittle diabetic. Every time she attempts to do any exercise, her blood sugar sky rockets! She can just do sit ups and stretches and her sugar can go from 135 to 450 in a matter of minutes. She has to take insulin before and check her sugar before, during and after exercise. It isn't the same for every diabetic, but if her blood sugar doesn't do as my daughters does, then it is the best thing for a diabetic.
Avatar n tn Stress can make your blood sugar rise. Have you noticed your blood sugars rise when you do one type of exercise as opposed to another? I'm just curious if you've seen any patterns.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar m tn blood sugar 137 before exercising. After 15 minutes light-to-moderate exercise, it was 85. This happens all the time, dropping from wherever it is, to the 70-80 range. One time I felt particularly shaky and the reading was 65. What's worse is that I am getting these drops from even minimal physical activity. As an example: blood sugar 110, after walking at a slow pace (strolling) for a mere 10 minutes, I start to feel a little shaky and my sugar is 78.
Avatar n tn The more you exercise the healthier you will be. Burn off some calories and your blood sugar will drop a bit as well. Drink plenty of water. Give your body every chance you can to be a healthy body...it's the only one you have! Good luck!
Avatar f tn I do 30 mins each time and have notice a drop of 50-75pts after exercise. ~180 before exercise and ~125 after.
Avatar n tn I had mentioned to a friend with a diabetic son that after I exercise(run) in the morning my blood sugar will sometimes shoot up 100-150 points and this is after a reading of 120-150 prior to running on my treadmill. I then have readings that are 200-250 and I get very frustrated! I am a type I diabetic for 26 years. I thought this was strange seeing that I had not eaten anything to make my blood sugar climb so high.
Avatar f tn I am a diabetic and my doctor told me that if my blood sugar drop below 65 I should take agreed emergency actions which could include an emergency room visit, ingestion of a sweet drink like a cola or quick disolving glucose tablets and continued monitoring of my glucose level.. I am not advising you to do what I do--I am saying see your doctor or PA. Thats what my provider told me, Again---You need to get specific giudance from your diabetes health care providers.
Avatar f tn If it was just happening after workouts, I would suspect a blood sugar problem. It still might be a drop in blood sugar, and in her case since she is vomiting its definately not normal. People who are hypoglycemic can sometimes get sick after strenous exercise even if they ate before the workout, Pay attention to WHAT she eats before she works out. I would take her to he doc for some blood work.
Avatar m tn I have been on a restricted diet and exercise for 2 weeks and my evening sugar levels have drop from 364 to average of 122 evenings and mornings are 160 should i continue with diet and exercise it has been exactly 13 days
Avatar f tn Various things can lead to low blood sugars. If you go without eating for a period of time, your blood sugar can drop, or if you exercise strenuously (especially if you do both in combination). If you are on insulin than taking too much insulin for the carbs you are eating can definitely cause low blood sugars and these can be the more dangerous kind because you can drop very rapidly. If you are getting frequent lows, talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn This could be due to sudden fall in temperature following physical exertion or due to reduced blood sugar. You could try following cool-down exercise regimen following physical exertion and having something light before/ in between the game and see if this seems to help. If you do not notice any improvement I would suggest consulting a primary care physician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take car!
Avatar f tn Weight loss if you are overweight, and exercise are also very important for blood sugar control. At least 30 minutes of exercise once a day (or even better if you can make it longer or more than once a day), would help in controlling blood sugar.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar m tn So the temporary high will be well offset by the long term effect of that exercise. However, in a non-diabetic person blood sugar is very finely controlled and blood sugar will not vary much at all. A completely normal non-diabetic person (including athletes) will have blood sugars in the range of 70 - 120 all the time, with most numbers being at the lower end of this range (80-100). A completely normal a1c will be < 5.0 (about 4.3 - 4.6 is apparently typical).
Avatar n tn My blood sugar is higher before i eat then it is 20 minutes after. today it was 482 before and 299 after?

Avatar n tn I AM A TYPE 1 DIABETIC FOR 36 YEARS(SINCE AGE14) I HAVE BEEN ON AN INSULIN PUMP FOR THE PAST 9 YEARS. MY BS CONTROL HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY ERRATIC NO MATTER WHAT I DO. HOWEVER, I AM HAVING SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE LOWS. MY BLOOD SUGAR WILL SUDDENLY DROP FROM THE 80'S OR 90'S TO THE 40' OR EVEN 30'S. AS A MATTER OF FACT A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I HAD A SEVERE HYPO EPISIDE. IT TOOK A LONG TIME FOR THE NURSES, DOCTORS,...
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
