577285 tn?1706032371 Blood Sugar Tracker for us diabetic's out there please. It would be an invaluable tool for us to track this VITAL READING. Not only could it be based on those little log books that we all gotta carry around getting all dog eared and full of blood stains as well as getting more expensive to buy , but we could easily make a copy and bring the professional looking and easy to read Chart / Tracker to our Doctors.

Avatar m tn https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/a1c-test/about/pac-20384643. You need to have the score two times in order for it to be meaningful. So, they will test you again. 8 is too high though. It would mean your sugar level is not controlled and puts you at greater risk for diabetic related complications. Have you been diagnosed with pre diabetes or type 1 or 2 as of yet? I'm just trying to find out more related to this particular test. Your level should be below 5.7.
Avatar n tn His blood sugars are NOT fine. A fasting level of 121 mg/dl is prediabetes.
188761 tn?1584567620 According to the web site "Net Wellness Consumer Health Information", when blood sugar levels exceed 180, the kidneys are unable to remove all the sugar from the blood and dump it into the urine. It does not mean there is kidney damage.

Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
Avatar m tn net/NutritionalChart.htm This chart gives you more nutrient information, but you have to look for each food alphabetically as they are not grouped by types: http://www.caloriecountercharts.com/chart1a.htm I hope that this helps you out...
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar n tn We have found that the be4stway to avoid this is by having our daughter check her blood 6-8 times a day. When her blood sugar is over 225 we have her check for ketone thru her urine. If she has ketones we give her extra no carb fluids and contact per endocrinologist on how to adjust her insulin dosage. We do this because sometimes she has ketones due to being ill other times it is a missed bolus from the pump or not enough insulin.
Avatar m tn It’s actually part of the mint family, its 100x sweeter than sugar, and has absolutely no effect on your blood sugar levels. You can use it to sweeten your teas and smoothies. I absolutely love this stuff. These minor adjustments can help prevent another candida invasion because if you revert back to a Standard American Diet, candida will come back.
Avatar m tn You can also print out forms for daily use to mark off when you check BP, blood sugar, temp, and also a chart to check off as you give meds while at home. ..... My husband had his transplant in May 2013 in Nashville, at Vanderbilt and I must say with the excitement, exhaustion, and all the emotions the family, especially the Caretaker, goes through, this App and also website online are GODSENDS!!
Avatar f tn It does sound like he had low blood sugar in the AM when you woke up. Yes, sometimes when having a low BS, the person will respond they are ok, when indeed they are not. In that instance you would want to get him to drink some kind of juice to get his levels back up, which will take at least 15 mins, depending on how low he was. If you continue this relationship, you will need to know how to help him through a low BS.
Avatar m tn My mother is type 1 Diabetic, now she is diagnosed But I am concerned about maintaning her Blood Sugar Level, there are lots of devices available in market but I am confused with them please suggest me the best Products and which I should prefer.
Avatar n tn I have had a blood sugar test and gave a reading of 6.1 about 1 hour after a breakfast (Weetabix, Milk, Orange Juice). I have to go back and have repeat test but after having nothing to eat approx 9 hours beforehand....will this give an increased or decreased reading.
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/621786'>Blood sugar drops after eating</a>.
Avatar f tn Their website says the serving size (8 oz.) contains 7g sugar and 25 calories, and a full 20 oz. bottle has 17g sugar and 70 calories. G2, as I understood the advertising, is reduced calorie (reduced sugar), with approximately half the calories/sugar of regular gatorade. Powerade makes the sugar-free calorie-free sports drink, Powerade Zero (that I think halbashes mentioned above). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. http://www.pepsiproductfacts.com/infobycategory.
Avatar n tn Hi recently my BP shooted to 140/90 during that course i was tested for CBC, Renal, Lipid and Sugar. All the counts of CBC, Renal and Lipid are absolutely normal. But my fasting blood sugar was 8.1 which is quite high. Before this test i used BP tablest for 4 days until the test is done. Later from the next day i was tested for Random blood sugar several times for 2 days always the readings are normal the highest shown is 5.2. My doctor not even commented on this.
Avatar f tn thanks for the info. i will try doing the small weights. i went to the doctor today and she changed the time i take the glipizide. will continue taking metformin as usual and take the glipizide with at my morning break at work with my breakfast and take the pm metformin before dinner. she thinks this might help level things out. at this point i don't feel happy about taking so much meds, but until i can add more excerise into my daily choires i don't have much choice.
