I did my yesterday ..

Thought I was doing pretty well -- my highest 1 hour post prandial reading had been 140 -- until this afternoon. One hour after eating a tray of takeout sushi from the grocery store I got a reading of 236, immediately followed by a reading of 244 (to make sure it wasn't a machine error). Two hours, some aloe vera juice and a bit of exercise later, it was back down to 88. What does this indicate and how serious is it?

In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.

was this after the one hour or three hour or just a regular check? are you a diabetic regularly or did you just have gestational diabetes before? I am "at risk" for it says my doctor since I'm overweight and had 2 big babies already... Keep us updated. It seems like forever between appointments and then they are here before you know it!

Probably just the way your body handles that much sugar.

blood test first give u fluid to drink then 2 hours later do another to see how ur body reacts after not herd copes with sugar up to the few days before I was worried in wot i was gunna eat etc but I thought I can't stop wot i normally eat I like chocolate and all sorts and mine come bk normal don't worry ur self too much as it's just precaution I'm sure u will b fine xx

Hi i m male 29.weight 95 kg.my question is regarding my blood sugar.5 days ago randomly after heavy dinner i checked my bs and home gluco meter said 225 after almost 2 hours.then i checked half hour later and it was 182 after 3 and half hours it was 103.225 was high so in morning i went to lab with gluco meter and they picked blood from vein and tested on gluco meter ist it was 103 and in lab 87.lab technician told me that go home eat drink tea with sugar and come back after two hours.

I did the orange and it just tasted like flat pop that had a ton of sugar in it. Then they draw your blood every hour for 3 hours after you drink it.

Now I do daily treadmill walking exercises plus some weight training in the gym and find that after 1.5 hour of exercising my sugar goes up 50-80 points. The finally abates to normal levels after 5-6 hours. Can you please tell me why.

First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.

I checked my blood sugar of 196mg/dL right after my dinner (big one) at 6:30PM. I was really nervous because I had never done that before and was just curious. Then I checked one hour later at 7:30PM and it went down to 115mg/dL. I then checked again before bedtime at 11PM and it was 97mg/dL (after one hour working out). This morning I checked at 6AM and it was 78mg/dL. My question: is it normal that the blood sugar is 196mg/dL right after meal?

s a three hour test then one mere draw after another hour. You get your blood drawn, then sit and wait... No drinking anything but water, no chewing gum, no eating a mint and my fave they remind you of is no smoking haha duh I'm pregnant I'm not gonna smoke! Then you're done. You have to relax between blood draws because they don't want you walking around burning off sugar, they want a true test of your blood sugar. Good luck to you!

Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.

Check if it can raise your blood sugar levels. Some high blood pressure medicine can raise the sugar levels. Know your body. It is the inly one you will have.

HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.

The dr wanted me to do the 3 hour one after i failed the one hour one, but i cnt fast in the mornings because i get sick if i dnt eat, so they r treating me like a diabetic nd i have to prick 4 times a day, been doing it for 2 weeks, i see my dr tomorrow so hopefully i get to stop. My levels usually r good. I am 36 week tomorrow too.

It may help. But you might have a mild case of gestational diabetes. I failed my first one too didn't take the three hour test because the 1 hr was too much sugar for me and I got extremely sick. So they are treating me as if I have GD. The duet us hard at first but you get use to it fast. I regret not eating healthier earlier on in my pregnancy, but that doesn't mean it would have changed anything. My body just isn't producing enough insulin.

Thanks for your response! I fasted for 11 hours because my eyes refused to stay open past 9:30 pm. I'm here at the lab and just finished my 3rd blood draw. The first hour after the first blood draw and glucose drink was the WORST! Thankfully I didn't throw up but I almost did. They let me drink some water which helped. I'm praying that my tests come back ok and I don't have gestational diabetes. Good luck to you!

Normally with the one hour test you dont have to fast but best to check with your doctor

My sugar test came back and unfortunately my levels were elevated so now I have to go in the morning for the 3 hour sugar test. Has anyone had to do the 3 hour one?? Is it the same thing besides the wait time?

I have not been told if i have diabetes but my Dr. told me to watch my blood sugar because im having symptoms of hypo. I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.

I started checking it at one hour after eating and one time it was 139 then at the two hour mark it was 71. That was after having a grilled hamburger and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes for dinner. I thought my blood sugar was getting under control and now it's running low. Can anyone tell me why this might be happening?

I got really dizzy with blurry vision and my legs were shaking this happened twice within one hour today. After I chewed a piece of gum it stopped. Has this happened to anyone before?
