By reusing a glucose test strip they would not get an accurate read on your blood glucose because blood from the previous test would still be on the strip. That fact is common knowledge regardless of what country you are in so despite your suspicions I still do not think you have any cause for concern. If you consult with the hospital who perfomed the test I'm sure they will explain in detail why they cannot resuse test strips.

I was diagnosed this past October as insulin resistant. I had a two hour glucose test and my blood sugar tested normal, but my insulin level was through the roof. My morning readings were 125 to 135. Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check.
