Blood glucose reference values

Common Questions and Answers about Blood glucose reference values

Avatar n tn Upon performing the 2hr OGTT (using 75g drink) or the 3hr OGTT (using 100g drink), on several occasions, I have experienced serum glucose values measured at 1hr lower than those of the 2hr glucose values (Fasting glucose within reference range and all samples collected, processed, and separated within appropriate timing). For individuals with "mild" diabetes and suspected gestational diabetes, how likely it is for glucose measurements to show this trend?
Avatar m tn Acceptance criteria in ISO 15197, 2003 are that 95% of all differences in glucose values (i.e., between reference method and meter) should be within 15 mg/dL for glucose values less than 75 mg/dL, and within 20% for glucose values greater than or equal to 75 mg/dL.
Avatar m tn The difference between a fasting glucose of 101 and 106 is probably negligible. Both of your values suggest that you have impaired fasting glucose (range 100 - 125). The measurement is the same in fasting and non fasting testing - the difference is in the reference range. A normal fasting glucose is < 100 and the current thinking seems to be that even a result in the mid to high 90s might suggest close monitoring.
514349 tn?1272801633 you should give the values on these tests. example for blood glucose you need to have certain values or range that can help doctor assess if your pre diabetic or diabetic or needs additional test.
Avatar f tn Serum albumin is produced by the liver, occurs dissolved in blood plasma and is the most abundant blood protein in mammals. Albumin is essential for maintaining the oncotic pressure needed for proper distribution of body fluids between blood vessels and body tissues. The reference range for albumin concentrations in serum is approximately 3.5 - 5.0 g/dl So, also for albumin you are within normal range.
Avatar m tn 0, specific gravity 1.025,250 of glucose, which makes no sense with normal serum glucose and negative for ketones, blood, nitrite and leukocyte esterase. Urine hCG was negative as well" I just dont understand. Its looking like i have more than one thing working against me.
Avatar m tn I had my blood work done about a month ago and now have received a copy some of the results have me concerned first is the ESR which is 42mm Anion Gap 2meq Fasting Glucose 107 Total Billrubin 1.33mg ALT 21U/L TSH 2.46 Free T4 .
Avatar m tn you have to keep in mind. Your blood values (red cells aka hgb? and white cells and platelets) will drop real low but hopefully not too low. And from what I remember you sound fine. You should be able to look @ it (your labs on paper) and see the reference ranges. It will tell you if you are high or low and to the far right you will see a normal reference range. Good luck and I think you sound like you will be fine. My gi said he would not worry unless I got to 25 on the platelets.
Avatar m tn I always take 2 or 3 pulkas or chapathis during night every day and i dont eat rice during night.. But whenever i check the blood glucose levels with the glucometer, i find that the fasting values are not within the range of normal values viz 110 for fasting. but the post lunch levels always within the normal range of viz 140.The random levels always varies from 125 to 150. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?
Avatar f tn No herpes. It was found on blood test. First my globulin were noted to be just below normal on the reference scale 2.1. I usually run around 2.8. Dr did antibody test and the igg came back just below normal reference according to him, and I dont have those values . Blood test prior to mesh implants were normal.
Avatar f tn I agree with what Barb has said. I would also add that the thyroid med is not a likely contributor to the weight gain, if you had questions about that. It is possible that your thyroid hormone levels are not adequate to get your metabolism to the right level for you. If you will please post your thyroid test results, and their reference ranges shown on the lab report, members will be glad to assess the adequacy of your testing and test levels.
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar m tn The rest of your blood values for iron were normal. What was your Folate or Vitamin B12 levels? There is a relationship between Iron, Folate, and vitamin B12, and it is important to have all those levels to determine if you have iron deficiency or not.
Avatar f tn 00 (L) with reference range of 4.20-5.40. My WBC showed to be 4.2(L) with the reference range of 4.8-10.8, at that time my RDW was within the normal reference range of 12.0. My TSH result showed 0.45(L) with a reference range of 0.55-4.78, My doctor ordered another CBC 8 weeks later and at that time my CBC showed my RBC to be 3.86(L) reference range of 4.20-5.40, my WBC is 4.5 (L) reference range 4.8-10.8 and my RDW (H) at 14.6 with a reference range of 11.5-14.5. My TSH this last time is at 0.
Avatar n tn Actually, articles I have read listing so-called "normal" ranges of glucose values after a meal tend to say that a reading above the mid 140's is considered possibly diabetic. However, the ranges do differ from person to person. Most people's glucose can go as high as in the mid 140's after a meal before their own bodies start producing extra insulin to bring those levels down. The range of 70-126 is considered normal before eating a meal, or as a fasting glucose level.
740140 tn?1232426714 A rise of troponins reflects irreversible myocardial cell necrosis. Accordingly, abnormal values have been described in various conditions not related to acute coronary disease, like myocarditis, pulmonary embolism, acute heart failure, septic shock, and as a result of cardiotoxic drugs as well as after therapeutic procedures like coronary angioplasty, electrophysiological ablations, or electrical cardioversions.
Avatar n tn I would like to know the normal values for TSH tests. Mine was 4.69 ---- should I be concerned?
1765684 tn?1333819168 I see people posting values that I can't figure out... Or I can't figure out my own... 3 weeks ago it was 107 with a reference range of 123 - 157. I think that was at week 5. I see values posted of 9, 10, etc. being 'low'. How low is mine in comparison? I'm assuming it's a different unit of measurement since I'm in Canada.
550622 tn?1247656720 An elevated MPV is usually accompanied by analytes of the complete blood count being out of reference range. Slightly elevated or decreased MPV values if the rest of the CBC is normal are usually not significant. Values 15% out of range should be referred to a physician to determine cause. Your numbers are so slightly out of range, they more than likely mean nothing is amiss. Hope this helps.
