blood

Avatar n tn Blood blisters are a type of blister that is filled with blood caused by a rupture of the blood vessels underneath the skin’s surface. This rupture is usually caused by some form of trauma, such as biting. For the most part, blood blisters do not require special medical attention. Blood blisters that are severe or that reappear, however, may require medical treatment. Try to avoid popping the blister to prevent infection. Gargling with mouth antiseptic may also help.

Avatar f tn I am almost positive that I have a blood blister on my face under my eye. I have looked all over the internet for ways to get rid of it, but I couldn't find anything out about them on your face. I don't know what caused it either. How can I get rid of it?
Avatar m tn I am a bit concerned that this has been going on for a month-- that is a long time for a simple blood blister! The general treatment would be to relieve the pressure-- although I don't know why you would still have active bleeding after this much time! Given the pain you are having I am concerned that something else is going on-- infection, for example. If you do have it looked at (and I think you should), please come back and tell us what it was.
Avatar f tn I suddenly noticed what looks like a blood blister on my cheek, this came randomly and has no pain however it is large. Does anyone know what the cause could be? I've read it could be from biting but don't remember doing so, I am waiting on results for herpes tests, does this look anything like a symptom of that? Image: https://ibb.

Avatar n tn My son, age 23, has a spot on his back shoulder that looks like a blood blister. He showed it to me 2 weeks ago. It drains and refills, he covers it with a bandaid so if it opens it will not ruin his clothes. I made a doctors appointment for him, but my imagination is running wild while we are waiting to be seen. Could there be a nonserious explaination for this? It does not look like it is infected around it.

Avatar m tn ve never had that happen, usually chafing or some sensitive spots but never a blister or blood blister. Should I have any concerns? Or is there anything I may have over looked? 1645994 tn?1301161696 For the past month I've had this kind of blood blister grow on the tip of my right ring finger. The blister is NOT under my nails but on the tip of my finger adjacent to the nail. I will attach a photo. In the beginning it started as a small reddish bump and I would accidentally bump it somewhere and it would bleed for a few minutes and then it would stop. For the past 2 weeks I've been very careful to not bump it anywhere and it hasn't bled since.

If your wife had chlamydia she would need to tell you so that you could be tested and treated as well.
Avatar f tn Stress Illness Fever Sun exposure Menstrual periods Surgery My educated guess is that the Herpes Simplex becomes more active because we are on treatment. I have had three bouts with it myself while on treatment. Mine was on the tongue once and the gum twice. Treatment puts a lot of stress on us physically as well as mentally. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001631/ http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/coldsores.

Avatar f tn Hello, Sorry replied to an earlier post first. It can be due to blood blister or small cherry angiomas. The underlying cause for the development of cherry angiomas is not understood, so nothing can be predicted about their prevention but rest assured; they are harmless. If they are to be removed for cosmetic reasons, electrosurgery and cryosurgery can be used. More recently pulsed dye laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment are also used.

557866 tn?1274593993 Blood blisters should also be left to heal naturally. As with other blisters, if a blood blister bursts it is important to keep the area clean and dry, and protect it with a sterile dressing to prevent infection. Blood blisters are often painful, and you may wish to apply an ice pack to the area immediately after the injury that caused it. You should apply the ice pack for between 10 and 30 minutes.
Avatar m tn Next day sitting down causes same scenario and blister gets bigger with more blood in it with even more discomfort. Only way I feel relief is when it will get pop while I'm sleeping or in shower. To avoid this from happening I try to wear loose pants and don't have tight belt. And if I feel like my skin is being pinched. I go to restroom and adjust my insert. And my ultimate goal is to loose weight so my clothes don't fit tightly on me.
Avatar n tn Just returned from backpacking on the AT...I have a blood blister on big toe of right foot. Blister is at base of nail and extends under the nail. It is not painful but itches. Not sure what I should do...have not popped blister. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn I have a blood blister that I discovered at 16. It was small (about the head of a pin) when I first found it. I popped it, thinking it would drain and heal. Over the years, with each popping, it has grown to about the size of a pea. It's been here (on my middle inner thigh) for 7 years now. It's not painful, but if it's rubbed, it pops and it bleeds a lot, for 30 minutes at least.i have varicose veins, so I know my veins are not circulating well.
