There needs to be a high volume of blood and open, gaping wounds to exchange that blood in order for there to be a risk. Wounds of the size and openness to be a risk would generally require medical attention - we are talking about scenarios like a bad car accident with two victims who are subsequently taken to the hospital.

There are at least 3 reasons you should not be worried about catching HIV in these circumstances. 1) It seems unlikely any blood got into the wine. Your friend recognized the cut immediately, probably before the cork had not even been removed. 2) Swallowing infected blood or secretions is very low risk for HIV, maybe zero. For the same reason, oral sex rarely results in HIV even with swallowing HIV-infected semen. 3) The alcohol content in table wine is sufficient to kill HIV.

Ribavirin will also stay in your body for up to six months after tx because it is stored in your red blood cells and as the blood cells degrade it is was again released.
The only reason we take two doses of ribavirin is because it can cause gastro issues for some. If you are beginning treatment it's not a good idea to miss doses of course because you therapuetic level has not yet been achieved, if you do though just take it closer to the next dose.

well coumadin is a blood thinner and alcohol thins the blood. It does not sound like a good idea...you can ask the doctor in the expert forum. but im sure the bottle has an alcohol warning. also you can just look it up on the internet. but from what ive heard,doesnt sound like a good idea. I wouldnt drink any alcohol with medication that even says i can consume 3 drinks. thats just me.
