Blood alcohol vs breathalyzer

Common Questions and Answers about Blood alcohol vs breathalyzer

alcohol

Avatar n tn Ethanol = alcohol. < 1.0 sounds like a reference range or cut off level for detection. Is this in relation to a urine test?
Avatar n tn A breathalyzer measures the alcohol in your breath and then the reading is an estimate of your blood alcohol content. Having low RBC (from treatment drugs, for example) may raise the result. I'm not aware of liver disease itself causing any variation in readings. My RBCs are low and the last hemoglobin a1c I had done (I'm T1 diabetic) was 0.037 which I can tell you for sure, is EXTREMELY low. However, this measurement is an average of three months.
Avatar m tn I worked until 10am and started coughing again. Took some Robitussin. The supervisor said he could smell alcohol on my breath (my wife and car pool people could not). Had company breathalyzer. Registered a .048. I was terminated. How could I have registered on the breathalyzer? I have the liver damage. Haven't had a phlebotomy for quite some time. Don't know what my hematocrit level is.
Avatar m tn alcohol is not detected in urine.......drugs are.Alcohol content in blood is calibrated with a breathalyzer machine and depending on how long you drank for and within a certain time frame it can show up within a 24 hr.period.Alcohol is metabolized in the body in two ways-carbon dioxide......breathing it out of your system when it has gone thru the bloodstream and then the system flushes it in urination.
Avatar n tn Does barretts cause skewed results when patient is given a blood alcohol breathalyzer test?
Avatar f tn does alcohol get into your blood stream faster or stay in your blood longer? I absolutely did not think I was even close to drunk & yet I failed the breathalyzer. my court date is in several days. HELP.
Avatar n tn does hep c affect the results of a blood alcohol test, I mean, does it stay in your system longer?
Avatar m tn He performed a breathalyzer test on the gentleman who cooperated fully, and to his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no eveidence of the man having consumed any alcohol at all! Dumfounded, the officer said,'I'll have to ask you to accompany me to headquarters. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.' 'I doubt it,' said the now not so drunk man. 'Tonight I'm the designated decoy.
Avatar n tn hello. absolutely. even a small amount of alcohol. a breathalyzer reading would not be altered, but if you are this concerned, you are probably being impaired by the combination enough to be dangerous behind the wheel.
Avatar f tn I have had two doctors run blood tests on me and both times they showed completely negative for alcohol. Does anyone know anything else that could cause a high score for alcohol in the urine test but negative (0)on my blood tests.
Avatar m tn oops sorry i did!ok i broke this down into US measurement of ounces in a pint and your weight and time frame consumed in....if u'd been driving ur blood alcohol would be in the .12 range which is a good range of being buzzed....someone could've put something in ur drink...its always possible...especially if u went 2 the loo and left the open bottle or glass on the bar!
Avatar m tn I've been court ordered to use a breathalyzer device called Soberlink.I was wondering if anyone has also used it or knows anything about it at all?
Avatar f tn BAC would be in hours spent drinking, body weight and number of drinks consumed in a certain timeframe.Your blood alcohol level would've been @ .32!that is triple the legal limit for intoxication!did u drive urself home?
Avatar n tn m 100% certain he was in no way drunk at all. His blood alcohol level did not get back to 0 until 1am...about 24 hours before he went to bed the night before.
Avatar f tn I am 32 and alcoholic of about 9 yrs. But started getting cold chills only once or twice a month and sweating weather I have drank anything or not. When I don't eat its worse but my blood sugar seems to always be kind of in range but fluctuates a lot. I did have to go to the Er before because I hadn't drank in days and a breathalyzer said differently so they gave me a blood test nothing in my system...
1458533 tn?1285685681 I have chronic sinusitis, had the surgery several yrs ago, and it has returned. Be forewarned it is a horrible surgery and an even worse recovery. I would have rather given birth without drugs 3 more times, lol. Actually my sinus infections and ALL of the symptoms you've stated are caused by to much yeast in me. Look into dysbiosis, yeast syndrome, yeast overload, and chronic candidiasis especially if you've been on any kind of antibiotics or steroids (corticosteroids, predinisone, etc).
19527380 tn?1479378383 The officer had me do the alcohol test. I did a breathelizer and passed 100 percent. They took my car searched it before he impounded it. It took me over month to get my stuff back: Bank Card, Credit Card, Drivers License, Car, Car Keys and other keys. And he took my subscription drug "Suboxone". I really needed them but he would not give them back. I had a friend go pick up my stuff as i was over 200 miles away, he told her if I was there he would not give me my medicine!
Avatar m tn One of the best tests I ever heard of is the two drink test. Can you feel comfortable having just two drinks and then stop without wanting another one? Not one, not a bunch, but just two? Alcoholism involves not just drinking but our reaction to alcohol. I'm an alcoholic. Once I start all bets are off. The first drink will make me want more; the first drink technically is the one that gets me looped in that manner.
Avatar n tn there are alot of variables when it comes to medications vs. alcohol vs. a variety of diseases.....a simple call to the doc should clear it up for you because its always better to be safer than sorry......
15440293 tn?1440620337 On the first ER visit they did a chest x ray, spirometry test, blood work ( D-Dimer, CBC, CMP, and Venous Blood Gasses which all came back normal, so I was told to follow up with my Primary. Than I saw my primary and he thought maybe it was my GERD since I am not currently on any medicaation for it, and along with the Shortness of BReath I have been having bloating, stomach acid, and tenderness on upper abdomen....
1475202 tn?1536270977 Since then my bilirubin is 2.1 vs 1.7 or lower. Ast is 37 vs 35 or lower. RDW is 16.3 vs 15.0 or lower. Platelet count is 78 vs 130-400. Amonia is 36 vs 11-35 thanks to xifaxan. Everything else is within range. This panel now reads much better than when I was first diagnosed. No change in what stage im in now has been mentioned but even if im lucky enough to be in the 30% that make the five years then how much can I really expect 10 years? Im 39.
Avatar f tn The focus on how important normal blood pressure is, and how dangerous high blood pressure is, can make anyone anxious and produce false blood pressure results. And 149/80 is just mildly elevated. Anxiety will make the blood pressure increase in everyone. It's a normal response. In Norway, almost no one get the diagnosis of high blood pressure without a 24 hour monitoring, to reveal the true blood pressure.
Avatar m tn have your doctor do some blood work to make sure that it's not a kidney problem. They usually show up in blood work. Also dehydration can cause kidney problems. and if your kidneys hurt is' the lower back where it's going to show. Figure out how much water you drink in a day (vs. when you have a beer etc.) and any other medical conditions you might have. (And dude, you are 26 years old, what is up with you typing like a 12 year old??
Avatar n tn I went back to Urgent Care and they gave me a couple of breathing treatments, one was a nebulizer, the other was like an alcohol breath test like I see on TV (I had to take a deep breath and blow out for a few seconds). They took an additional set of chest/lung x-rays. A little while later they came to tell me they were sending me to the emergency room because they thought my heart was enlarged (bigger than its normally supposed to be), high blood pressure, and pneumonia.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm a ~41 year old male. I recently had blood work done and found my Testosterone is a little low. The "Free" Testosterone was 45 and the "Total, MS" was 217. It was recommended I get injections every 4 days to get those numbers up to at least 500. In doing a little extra research of my own (because I was curious if there are natural ways to boost my numbers), I can't help but notice a lot of this could be due to diet and alcohol consumption.
1251333 tn?1445218215 t check for drugs via breathalyzer, only alcohol. Law enforcement is moving away from breathalyzer tests until they can come up with drug testing due to the legalization of marijuana. And, having MS, some of use the drug medicinally anyway. We will have rules about that for legal limits etc. as soon as they figure out how to do that to. ...Meanwhile... As I said, long story short... inconvenient and very embarrassing.
