Avatar n tn t get all of what she said, but I understood that I had been diagnosed with acute alcohol intoxication (alcohol poisoning), that I spent the night in a vodka-induced coma and that I could've died. I think she said my blood alcohol content was 500 or .50. They kept me under observation all afternoon, tested my urine, and I had to call my parents to pick me up. After that, I had the most awful hangover for a week.

Avatar n tn Alcohol causes headache as a result of its effects on blood sugar. If you already have hypoglycemia, an alcohol-related drop in blood sugar may bring on head pain. Some alcoholic beverages contain tyramine, histamines, and impurities introduced during the fermentation process, which can also cause a painful headache. Drinking alcohol also causes you to urinate a lot, which can dehydrate your brain cells and cause headaches. It will go away on its own. Refer http://www.headachenech.

Avatar f tn While I was slightly unconscious, the lady started performing unprotected oral sex on me. Since then I’ve developed a urgency to to pee, pain in the tip of my penis and a slight burn. My symptoms have improved but I still feel a need to pee frequently. I tested negative for all STDs 3 times over the past 4 weeks. Any clue what this might be.
Avatar f tn They estimate he had been deceased for approx 2 days. His last blood sugar reading was over 600 on his meter and there was vomit in the bath tub. So I know he went into high blood sugar coma but would like to know the timeline. What damages occurs and how long after he passes out? How quickly would he have become unconscious? And if anyone has been brought back from diabetic coma did they feel any pain while out? At what point would it have been to late to revive him without permant damage?

Avatar f tn 1 week ago my 20 year old son got hit in the head right above his left ear with a couple of paintballs at close range. He did not go unconscious, just pain in the head. Since then, his head is no longer tender to touch and no more bump, but when he goes outside into the heat, he has severe, sudden sharp, throbbing pain. It lasts for various amounts of time. Also when he is active at all, he gets this pain. e.g. he went up & down stairs twice yesterday.
Avatar f tn He was diagnosed with severe liver damage about 6 months ago and completely gave up alcohol and changed his diet to try and get his liver to start regenerating. Small spots had started regenerating and things were looking like they had a chance. Unfortunately he somehow contracted an infection which completely destroyed is liver so there is no liver function at all. By the third day my stepdad was unconscious and all his other organs were taking strain and starting to fail.
2164248 tn?1337081251 I cannot express enough to you how critical it is that he never under any circumstance drinks alcohol again. The alcohol has caused irritation and inflamation in the liver, once you remove the alcohol the liver will begin to regenerate. Certain portions of the liver will be unable to recover due to the cirrhosis but fortunately the entire liver is not needed in order to survive.

Avatar f tn Oh, these are the best of times. Until last November, I drank like a College Frat boy for about six years. Nearly every night at that. Then I began paying the price. One thing after another. Episodes where I wasn't sure if I was going to go unconscious or die. A real smorgasboard of ailments which for nearly 3 months I was ashamed to admit to anyone. Last month I came clean with my Doctor. I've made several attempts at abstaining, today being the latest one.
Avatar n tn Hi,I've been aware since my teens that I can be prone to petit mal attacks on very rare occasions. It's always linked to lack of sleep, stress or alcohol(sometimes all three together)But it was so rare and minimal that I never worried about it.A few days ago I experienced a couple of small tremers after a late night out,but had a lot to do so I ignored them.
Avatar f tn I am not too familiar with blood alcohol, but I would think that maybe you could have been dehydrated and that could have caused the reading. Try drinking more water next time.
