Blood alcohol testing in hospitals

Common Questions and Answers about Blood alcohol testing in hospitals

alcohol

Avatar f tn Oh dear. Perhaps you should not begin this journey in the ER. If there is ONE place in a hospital that LOOKS like a hospital, it's the ER. If the sight of blood makes you lightheaded, I can only say that you're going to be in real trouble because you will be awash in blood. I don't know what defines "gory" talk for you, but when they bring in someone from a head on collision, the talk turns quickly to what I think you may find gory.
Avatar n tn Can i be reasonably assured they were using a proper testing method? My concern is that some 3rd world hospitals may only check for AIDS rather than HIV.
Avatar m tn This is not the doctors forum but you could have quit testing after your 3 month negative test. It was conclusive.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your information. Actually I tested my blood sugar 3 hours after ate. I am not diagnosed as diabetes till today, but I am awared that my blood sugar level may increase in this my age because of my bad eating habits like sweet, meat, rice , alcohol drinking etc. That's why I am testing my blood sugar level regularly. I want to know whether testing after 3hrs ate is perfect or not.
Avatar m tn t really know anyhow) I can tell you that most blood/urine tests in this country (USA) also test for adultering agents, that is anything you try to do to mask any drug or alcohol in your system. Testing positive for that is as good as testing positive for whatever it is you're trying to cover up at least as far as most companies/courts are concerned in the USA.
Avatar f tn The nurse who was drawing blood was a bit of a nimrod. Before drawing blood he opened the alcohol wipe and put the packet on the table and the alcohol wipe, while being partially still in the packet, made contact with the table. He then used the wipe to wipe my arm, then wiped the arm wit a cotton ball. He then drew the blood.
Avatar m tn I find it suspicious. I've had 2 m/cs and the hospital does not do testing unless your dr requests it. And almost unheard of if its ur first m/c. If there was testing there should be a pathology report, ask to see it, if she can't produce it then I would say there'd ur answer. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Everytime i drink alcohol i see blood clot in my blood too, so I stopped drinking alcohol completely. To test if it was tanbaco that really irritated my bladder, i used some tanbaco after 3 weeks and the night after that there it was again I saw the blood again in my urine. After that It's been around 3 weeks that i avoided anything that could irritate my bladder. yesterday i did another urine analysis and there was still microscopic blood in my urine.
209227 tn?1242346745 Use lancets for pricking fingers for blood test. And you can certainly use your right hand fingers for blood testing. Its not a big inconvenience and won't affect your work!!
Avatar f tn alcohol tested,I was just dropped from the program for testing positive for alcohol for the third time I DO NOT DRINK!!! I am Diabetic. Could my diabetes be the problem?
Avatar m tn Means, while taking blood from HIV Positive people, by accidentally the blood cotton of them has got interaction with Spirit and it stayed on the Spirit. So any Chance that, HIV survives for long time in Spirit(alcohol). so it is applied on me, before taking blood. so when Injecting the syringe, any chance it entered to my blood stream.
Avatar m tn It never ceases to amaze me how very often just common sense seems to elude many in healthcare and the danger some of them pose to us. Will http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/758772 . Insulin pens are designed to be used multiple times, for a single person, using a new needle for each injection. Increasingly, insulin pens are being used by healthcare personnel to administer insulin to patients in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

Avatar m tn Hi, Yes, most hospitals will test you for HIV and HEP B / C, for inpatient cases, but in many countries HIV testing cannot be done without the pateints express consent. Don't be scared of checking with the hospital authorities.
Avatar m tn the new hospital in bergamo (italy) allows anyone to have blood tests just paying, no prescriptions requested.
Avatar m tn The nurse did not change her gloves. She rubbed my arm to find the blood vein after she cleaned my arm with alcohol. Then she put the needle into my blood vein. There might be a blood on her gloves (even I cannot see it) and she touched my arm at the place she put the needle into my arm. So I concern that there might be a risk that HIV virus can get into my body because it's on my skin at the place that the needle was put to my blood vein.
Avatar n tn Please help me. I was downtown Denver today and a homeless wormen, with only like 3 teeth, and obviously high on something, grabbed my arm and started telling me how she had AIDS and was on the streets and needed money for her baby and so on. I stopped because I didn't want to brush her off as if she didn't matter.
Avatar m tn I admit -- it's quite intimidating to sit in the same room with a doctor, much less a Harvard professor (is she a thyroid expert?), and have to argue over the tests being done. I've done it more than once and it's not fun. Depending on the ego, they can make us feel like dirt and many of us will slink out of their office and go home to bed ....... done that more than once, too.
Avatar m tn My father is also suffering form the Fortwin and Phenargan injection addiction from past 20 years. Can you please suggest me name of some doctors or hospitals(in india) who can handle this situation?
1359227 tn?1282522148 I'm sorry to say I'm not terribly familiar with your hospitals up there, but I can give you one tip and maybe you can figure out how it applies to your hospitals (I'd be of more help if you were down in the States, sorry). :-/ The tests that the doc mentioned regarding small fiber neuropathy: QSART and the skin biopsy to assess for SFN are not available at all hospitals (in fact you'll find that quite a number of doctors will never have even heard of a QSART).
Avatar f tn Does anybody knows any hospitals or facilities in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas that provides the MOTILITY test for esophagus? My G.I. Doctor is having a serious problem in locating a place that does this testing.
