I was charged with dui. they r saying my blood alcohol level was .
I have hashimoto's & recently charged w/a dui. my question is: does alcohol get into your blood stream faster or stay in your blood longer? I absolutely did not think I was even close to drunk & yet I failed the breathalyzer. my court date is in several days. HELP.
Let me tell you a story... To define my answer.
In brief: My sister is older than me. She got married almost a year ago. I know my part about meds. She knows her part.
I had a headache and I knew that later that night the BBQ would lead to a beer, and I thought: Ack, I'll let that beer be. The headache is more important for me to cure right now than giving my liver too much work.
My sister on the other hand panicked when I asked for two regular tylenols.
069 and failing the field sobriety test...The actual ticket she was given just said DUI-- Drugs...the police report included the alcohol reading and also stated that she only had slight nystagmus but failed every part of the other 2 tests.I had forgotten to mention that she passed that 1 part of the test...Do I need to get a high dollar attorney to get done what needs to be done? Or just work with the judge assigned to the case.
any mind altering chemical is a drug. I think we like to say we are "clean" but if stop using vicodins or percs and still smoke pot or use booze we are not really clean.

I thank god that nobody was hurt, because looking back it is a complete miracle that nobody was.I got a dui of course, and when I went to court the first time they brought up a dui I had got 28 years ago when i was 17 I am 45 now.anyhow when the DA said 10 days with a cap on 30 I freaked! I have Surgery for Divers last year. I had not been drinking alcohol until for at least 9 months. I went and have a few drinks with friends from work 3 1/2 bottles of beer.,I stopped after that. My wife and I left for a road trip about 1 hr later in which she drove for the first (3) hours of the trip. I then began driving from that point on. I was later pulled over for speeding and was giviing a breath test. I failed the test and was charged with a DUI.
hi. sounds like potential alcoholism. the best way to define it is a condition where one continues to use alcohol or other chemical, despite negative repercussions. from you're description, there may well be a developing problem. eventually an alcoholic will reach a point at which they can not stop drinking once they start, and will not be able to predict with any certainty what will happen when they do drink. you might want to check out al-anon at al-anon.
However, my question is mainly about Xanax, and in regard to how long it stays in the system to the point where it is dangerous to mix with alcohol. (i.e., is it dangerous to drink alcohol after 1 day of not taking Xanax?..2 days? etc). Another question, how serious are the long-term effects of drinking alcohol WITH xanax?
i think u meant ur response to go to stillanurse and cassiei03.......i'm a recovering alcoholic/addict licensed substance abuse counselor who works w/impaired professionals!Ohio has a 3 year program as well....we are asked to try to verify to best of our ability one's total abstinence from ALL mood altering substances!Urine tests really don't measure blood alcohol well....for it to show up the next morn in one shows some MORE than normal drinking the nite before.
Not only is it dangerous to mix medication with alcohol to begin with, but also drugs and alcohol actually make things worse not better. For example, he may be able to drink away his problems today but really all he is doing is pushing out that problem to another day plus adding the possible liver damage into his future. Or a DUI or a fight in a bar that gets him arrested, etc. There is so much that can happen, and with bipolar you already have poor judgement, especially during mania.
I feel fine to drive after a 24 oz beer but that counts as two or three drinks and I know I would get a dui if pulled over. Breastmilk is the same as blood alcohol. I wouldnt want to give my baby breastmilk with alcohol in it. So to be safe most recommendations are 2 hours per drink. And not my 24 oz beer lol. That would count as 3 drinks. Its 1oz of hard alcohol ot 8oz beer is 1 drink. Babies dont metabolize like we do, at 3-6 months old they metabolize at half our pace.
I have never thought of myself as an alcoholic, but drinking has gotten me into quite a lot of trouble lately. I got my first DUI a couple of months ago. I have to report to some kind of class tomorrow and found out they are going to test me for alcohol. well, i had a few drinks the nite before and am i going to show up positive and get into even more trouble now? Jail was not fun and i do not want to go back there.
Im still questioning why when I was going through the withdrawls did I turn to alcohol and got a dui? that just really puzzles me. does anyone have any ideas? Im currently 7 weeks and was wondering what kinds of effects can stress have on your baby. I have bipolar disorder and recently got a dui (before I found out I was pregnant). I just found out that im going to have to spend a minimum of 10 days in jail among other things (fines, classes, court ) I've been extremely stressed about it and am worried for myself and my baby.
I am prescribed one Percocet 5/325 every five hours and three morphine 30 mg per day I was pulled over and received a dui I'm wondering taking meds as prescribed how much of each med is in my blood work I know I take less than prescribed however that day I missed a morning dose and doubled the afternoon dose of Percocet
I did not really like alcohol in my teens and twenties. During my thirties I discovered wine coolers and progressed to wine, but never more than three glasses, certainly not on a daily basis. Then followed divorce, nursing school, and I drank wine as a reward after studies over. I think I really escalated after graduation when I got my first job and could afford more and also when my children were gone to college.
I am now remarried to a great guy who does not drink at all.
I recently got arrested and charged with a DUI, and I just dont know what to do. I always said my alcohol use would never interfere with my life but now it is, and I feel like i'm just watching it happen.

My boyfriend seems to get either drunk or severly hammered (consisting of black out phases) at least twice a week. He bowls on Thursday and friday nights and get's severly hammered to where he can't even speak clearly. He also sleep walks when he's been heavily drinking. He has tried walking into my daughters room on a few occasions because he thought it was the bathroom. He typically never remembers conversations, arguements, ect the next day.
