Avatar f tn Yes beer does help with milk supply they talked about it in my breast feeding class
Avatar n tn Hello, It is usually not the alcohol that produces the allergic reaction to the wine or beer. The other ingredients in the alcohol, such as yeast, sulfur dioxide, and additives are often the culprits. Beer may contain a variety of ingredients, including barley, corn, wheat, and rye that may precipitate an allergic reaction. ref:http://www.aaaai.org/patients/advocate/2006/winter/wineandbeer.asp Alcohol (ethanol) is broken down by liver enzymes within minutes.
Avatar f tn Alcohol is alcohol, and it doesn't matter whether it's beer or wine or hard liquor. Alcohol is alcohol. The problem with saying one drink is fine occasionally, is people will run with that and drink several every night. If you have a pregnancy where you drink one small drink every couple weeks, it won't affect your pregnancy. I personally NEVER swallowed a sip of alcohol pregnant, that's just me.
Avatar f tn It is the same as blood alcohol. One beer, 2 hours to leave your system. I would personally wait 4 hours after 1 drink. Babies cannot break down alcohol so yes beer is not good for your baby and no it does not help your milk because alcohol dehydrates your body therefore it can dry up your milk. Research research research and don't look at Wikipedia because it's mostly bunches of lies.
Avatar n tn It is known that alcohol can cause coumadin to be less effective by increasing the risk of blood clots. Moderate intake of one drink a day is usually OK for most people. You should talk to your healthcare provider about an alcohol intake that is safe and acceptable to you.
718543 tn?1230295284 I have been diagnose 4 years ago, the doctor told me that the grade was not bad enough to do treatment. He did a biopsy back then. I stooped drinking beer at the time, these last weeks with my depression I started drinking beer lightly. I have HIV+ and I am taking atripila once a day. I am totally depressed, this is the first time I see this web page and love it because I don't have any friends to talk about this. Thanks for the forum. Hector.
Avatar f tn As a good friend of mine just reminded me - hepatitis means inflammation of the liver so THAT you could have and most likely do. However - I think your doctor is leaning towards viral hepatitis in the fact that you don't have a very large drinking history and say you "only" drink beer. Alcohol is alcohol and whichever hep it might be you have to cut that out unless you find out you don't have any liver problems.
Avatar f tn I talked to my dr (I know every dr has a different opinion) and he said that there is not enough research on fetal alcohol syndrome to be able to know exactly how much alcohol it takes to cause birth defects...I've heard of women drinking a glass of wine a day while they were pregnant and the baby was fine, I've heard of women drinking not even a full glass of wine during pregnancy and the baby was born with FAS...
1591333 tn?1297733419 Alcohol consumption for some individuals can abnormally lower blood pressure. This would happen if alcohol causes a faster than normal heart rate (tachycardia. The most common example of tachycardia causing low blood pressure is atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a disorder of the heart characterized by rapid and irregular electrical discharges from the muscle of the heart causing the ventricles to contract irregularly and (usually) rapidly.
779797 tn?1263618235 So for over a year now ive got a weird symptom when drinking beer or any alcohol. I get really dizzy and really tired. I used to be able to drink a 6 pack a night if i wanted to, no problem. Now i cant even have an occasional drink without feeling like i took a sleeping pill and out of my head. What the hell? I was on pain meds for my spine issues, but didnt take them when i was gonna have a beer or 2.. I eliminated that, out of my system for over 45 days, and still nothing.
Avatar n tn I have been a diabetic since I was 14. I am now 48 and in better shape than most non-diabetics even tho I also have high chlorestrol and High blood pressure. I have been drinking since I was 18. I drink Beer on weekends, sometimes as many as 8, but try to stay in the six pack range. Beer has a big reputation of giving us a "beer belly", you might not have that problem with whiskey.
Avatar f tn Well I asked my Dr and he said I beer or glass of wine a week in the first is fine and second trimester 2 a week and third you can have one glass of wine with dinner whenever... I went by those rules last pregnancy and my son is just fine but I know people freak out about all kinds of things so idk... It's up to you..
Avatar m tn I’m wondering if ‘jbl’ is referring to non-alcoholic beer when he says “na beer”? If so, the minuscule amount of available alcohol shouldn’t hurt you; as long as you don’t confuse it with the real deal :o).
Avatar f tn Fyi non alcoholic beer still has alcohol so be mindful with it also
Avatar f tn This gluten is found in malted barley, which is used to make beer and some hard ciders. Some beer also contains wheat. Other beverages sometimes made from wheat, rye, and barley include vodka, whiskey, gin and bourbon. The allergy to alcohol or to coke even can be due to preservatives, coloring agents, yeast used for brewing, sulfites, gluten products in the alcohol or even to grapes and other bases.
Avatar n tn Hi alcohol can cause low blood sugar levels for some due to its effect on the liver. But even more it can cause those person with diabetes to pay less attention to their health and blood sugars. This does not mean you can never drink alcohol, But it should be taken in moderation only. When you do have a first drink (remember moderation) do it in the company of a trusted friend so you can safely see the effect it has on you.
Avatar f tn The yeast will increase your supply significantly. I also suggest a alcohol free beer, not commonly found is retail stores but best to due research in your area to find the beer. I also suggest B-12, mothers milk tea and feenugreek, they all help in milk supply amazingly and help with weight loss as well. These three are most definitely found in retail stores.
Avatar n tn You are not allergic alcohol. It causes direct vasodilation of the skin, related either to alcohol directly or its metabolite, acetaldehyde. Alcohol is oxidized to acetaldehyde in the liver by alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH). This acetaldehyde is further converted to acetic acid by acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. In some individuals due to abnormal or deficient acetaldehyde dehydrogenase will cause accumulation of acetaldehyde which is a potent trigger of flushing.
4503521 tn?1400858886 There is non-alcoholic beer. Its hard to find but a liquor store might have it. It tastes like beer, but without the alcohol! I was a bartender for awhile and the place I worked had it. I don't remember the name of the brand we had unfortunately.
Avatar f tn There is no safe amount of alcohol. It's just not worth it. There is alcohol free beer out there, try that and see if it kicks your craving.
