Avatar f tn There are lots if YouTube videos to help you know what poses are safe. If you didnt exercise before yoga is still safe as long as you are careful with the poses. My mother in law did yoga religiously and her labor was 10 mins once she got to the hospital. It really helps me with the back pain now. Don't know what I would do without it.

Avatar f tn So officials are filming hundreds of yoga poses and translating ancient Sanscrit texts. They plan to send the results to patent offices around the world next month, the Washington Post reports. It's an outgrowth of a project called the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, which was originally created to fight patents on traditional Indian medicine — like turmeric for wound healing, which received a U.S. patent that was later withdrawn after India objected.

Avatar n tn Has anyone taken yoga during the 3rd trimester? This is my 3rd pregnancy and my last was with twins so my ligaments have stretched and it causes me so much pain. I was thinking maybe If I took a yoga class this may help. I would like to hear from those that are taking or have taken a class and if this has helped you throughout your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I shared with this a co-worker who experienced the same problem and figured she was getting gas lodged in the wrong parts of her body so she did gas relieving yoga poses when she was in pain. Her body was more likely to get gas from carrots, hummus, and edamame so you'll need to determine what foods your body can process. Now, I make sure I do yoga poses that relieves gas before bed and eat at least 2 hours before bed.
Avatar f tn Hi do some yoga stretches will help.
Avatar f tn What has helped me is stretching. Doing yoga. Look online for pregnancy yoga poses or get a prenatal yoga DVD if you don't have time for a class. Also get a maternity support belt to wear during the day. It will really help.
Avatar f tn I try and I do some of the poses and stretches buuut I don't know if it's because my uterus is getting bigger and is sitting right on that nerve but it hurts terribly. She modifies poses based on our individual week. My husband massages the area sometimes too.
Avatar f tn There is pregnancy poses as an alternative to a lot of the yoga poses that we should be extra cautious about. Look it up on the web. If you feel any discomfort at any time, take the child's pose, even though the others are doing something else.

1539379 tn?1294332115 The number of anxiety attacks seems to have been growing with me, so I wanted to pass along somethings that have alleviated some of the symptoms. Exercise - particularly yoga (even it if seems girly or kinda dumb), has been particularly soothing & help for a range of my symptoms. It helps me relax, and they even have poses that help with digestion. I've also gotten involved with running. I used to dislike it, but now I absolutely love it.
Avatar f tn After a day or two of taking the PPI, after doing some Yoga poses for indigestion (that turned out to cause heartburn), my heartburns started. Initially milder (pain level 3/10). I also took antacids which helped. But I've been taking the PPI for 7 days now and it seems like the heartburn is getting worse (today for a short while the pain was around 5 or 6/10) and the antacid is less effective. The indigestion symptoms also remain.

Avatar n tn I am a 61 yo female, in very good health, about to have cataract surgery. I do yoga 5 days a week and am wondering if this surgery will prevent me doing inverted poses(I do not do headstands, just down dogs) in the long run. I know I will have to refrain from these in the weeks following surgery. However, will I have to refrain from inverted poses forever? If I can do them, what are the risks, if any. Would appreciate your response.

187316 tn?1386356682 I know excercise is a no no but I have been doing yoga since before I was pregnant and during my pregnancy. Not pregnancy yoga but regular yoga. I have a class tomorrow for an hour and was just going to go to it but then I got to thinking. Could it be dangerous? My daughter will be exactly one week old and I have two stitches in my whoo-ha. Do you think it could rip them even if I took it easy? Also do you think it will mess with my milk supply?
Avatar f tn You can try facial yoga. Yoga poses that force your head downwards are considered to give the facial muscles a good workout, along with deep breathing exercises. As a bonus, this helps to keep you looking younger.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone knows if theres any excercises that are not safe to do while preggo?
