For the past 4 months I have experienced discomfort and bloating/swelling on my right side at the hip-bone area around to my front right side. bloating usually starts mid-afternoon and is more obvious in the evening. Excessive bloating is gone upon awaking, but still swelling on right side that I notice. Mentioned discomfort to my primary 2 months ago, and he said all my blood work and urinalysis that had been run 4 weeks earlier were normal.

I was shocked when I learned that my cyst was on the left ovary, since the intense pain I feel is on the right side. I asked my doctor if it was possible for the pain to rediate to the opposite side, and he said yes, rarely.
Did pregnancy tests, all negative. I had horrible bloating, cramping and pain on my left side near ovary. I have this every time period is due. I got my next period, which just finished yesterday. Have had the ovary pain for about 3-4 weeks now, almost feels like a stitch. Hurts when I push to go to toilet, and even hurts while walking, every time I take a step with left leg. I don't have any children, and I also suffer from IBS, and schiatica, so not sure if it's from these things or my ovary.
Now I've noticed when I got up today I heard bloating sound when I touched left side of my belly I could actually feel that bloating sensation. Did anyone ever had that kind of feeling. My amniotic fluid is also low & on Friday I'm going for ultrasound/ Dr visit to see if it got dangerously low, if yes I'll be induced. Please I need answers. Dr said I don't have to go to Er. Please ladies tell me something.
Hi, I am a 39 year old woman with a history of ulcerative proctitis that hasn't been flaring up lately. However, in the last three weeks I've had enormous pressure and bloating on the left side of my abdomen, right next to my ribcage. It has been getting progressively worse, especially after my GP had me take an overnight cleanse of Magnesium Citrate followed up by three nights of docusate sodium.

for about a week before i found out, people were concerned thinking i was sexually active and prgnant because of massive bloating of my stomach...i was also on my period. i had sharp pains in my left side for a week...painful enough for me to scream everytime. they saw i had two masses on a normal ultrasound and then a catscan. now i am waiting for my surgery date. you should seriously consider going to have a catscan and ultrasound done, before it could become dangerous to your health.
I am prednisone dependent for 20 years (10 mg daily) After dinner I seem to get terribly bloated. No matter what I seem to eat I get this terrible movement that you can see and feel, it is like when you are pregnant and the baby is moving (this is the best way to explain it). Sometimes the pain is worse on the right, but then it moves left (I do have diviticulitis & hiatal hernia(no problem here I stay away from seeds and spicy foods). I do suffer from RA for over 20 years.
I have been reading all of the forum entries about left side rib pain and feel relieved that I am not alone. Initially my pain started years ago as a reaction to certain foods but it has progressed. it is inconsistent and it has increased in frequency to several times a week and is usually pretty intense. I feel nausea and clammy during the episodes which can last 10 minutes to several hours. afterwards i have to sleep because i am exhausted.
Worst when I sit, lots of pressure. Have to lay on my right side for the pain to ease,it takes about a hour. It hurts when I walk, but is less.l have been to a urinologist,he said it is not anything to do with blatter. I have lots of gas some bloating, systems has been for a long time. Doctors is now sending me for a ultra sound and colonoscopy. I had a colonoscopy 3 years ago.
I have one area of my intestine which down right hurts when I get constipated on my left side. Basically my system works on gravity and I get full. I feel urgency but nothing happens. I was up half the night the last few nights with pain. I think the heat also makes it worse like everything else. I have to eat small meals of fruits and vegetables all day long. And minimal lean meat. When its really bad fruit smoothies. Also drink lots of water.
The pain is generally located in the lower abdomen, often on the left side; however, the location and character of the pain can vary widely. The severity of the pain may range from mildly annoying to debilitating. Several factors, such as emotional stress and eating, may exacerbate the pain, while defecation often provides some relief. By definition, patients with IBS complain of altered bowel habits.
sometimes muscles ache, sometimes joints hurt and are stiff, sometimes burning here there and everywhere (not necessarily on on side or limb) it feels like a sunburn...not really numbness, but tingling or heated sensations on my left side of face...
I had a small cyst on my left ovary when I was pregnant, and ended up having several US to check on it throughout my pregnancy, and it didn't go away but they felt it wasn't a problem. Since then, every pelvic exam I've had, I've asked my gyn if he/she could feel anything in that area, and the answer was always no. I seriously think my cyst never went away, and just started to get bigger, resulting in my surgery last week. I kept wondering why I couldn't lose the pregnancy weight.
I was having stomach in between this time, where I'd have pain in my stomach and the left side under my rib cage. This seemed to get MUCH worse if I used an enema and still does. A couple months ago (prior to Augmentin) I had an endoscopy done and everything looked good. I also had an ultrasound of my entire abdomen and all the organs looked good. Could I still possibly have Gastroparesis? That's what I am afraid of. I am also dealing with lazy bowel, have had it since I was 10.
With new pain under your left rib, have you noticed any bowel changes? Constipation, bloating, or diarrhea? Also have you been on a heavy course of antibiotics lately?
He has had the traditional rounds of prednisone and antibiotics, but to no avail. When he lays on his left side, he complains that he feels like there is a knot or mass in the area that is painful. He has lost 35 pounds in the last 5 years and loosing muscle mass. We are not convinced that he has Crohn's. About a year ago I became bloated, and then developed severe burning down left side, shoulder hurting I would wake and heart would be racing with severe pain down my left side, my nerves seem to be on edge all of the time, seem to start having mild tremors in upper body. Went in to my PCP and my pulse was 120, wanted to know what I was nervous about, my reply was nothing had changed in my life other than this severe pain.
