Please help. I woke up one day with pain in my lower abdomen, I thought it was just related to my period about to start. As the day went on the pain became like knives. The pain is severe, feels like knives, is in the "front" (dont feel it in my back) of my lower abdomen-- from belly button to vagina (and when it gets worse it spreads down into my legs). It has been going on now for a month and a half.
I am a 16 year old girl and I've had severe bloating in my lower abdomen. I feel full after small meals and have had to urinate more frequently. This has happened for about 5 days now and I haven't gone to see the doctor yet. It is very uncomfortable and I pass gas frequently as well. I feel nauseated at times, but have no pain in my lower abdomen. Any ideas? This discussion is related to persistent lower abdominal bloating.

This procedure involves inserting a tiny scope into small cuts in the abdomen and filling the abdomen with air, which allows room to maneuver. The surgeon then dissects and removes the cyst. If the dermoid is especially large, the surgeon makes a bigger incision into the abdomen. Planned, rather than emergency, surgery can prevent complications, such as twisting of the cyst, lower abdominal pain, rupture of the cyst, and infection.
I also have intense lower back pain (behind my tailbone), occasional intense pain on either side of my abdomen or my lower abdomen, nausea after eating (usually), chronic heartburn (I eat very very well, too), frequent belching (often coupled with hiccups), and constant fatigue. My stomach bloats all the time and it drives me crazy! I have tried a colon cleanse, it didn't work for me. What could this possibly be?

Hi, I am 47 & perimenopausal. After I had 1 month of bleeding, my doctor ordered to have ultrasound & uteral biopsy, which came back OK. Then again I had 3 months of heavy non-stop bleeding which stopped in February. Then after 2 weeks I began feeling pain in lower abdomen & bloating every day, sometimes nausea & back pain - this now goes on for 2nd month.
lower abdominal bloating, pain in lower right abdomen, irregular bowel movements, but none with irregular menstrual cycles until I found this thread. My problems started back in June 2005 and the bloating has caused my weight to go up 5lbs. My periods have been very sporadic, ranging from 3 months to 2 weeks. Up until May 2005 my period was perfectly normal.
Hello, last month i have noticed that my lower abdomen is hard, i mean really hard, I thought is just due to lack o exercise and not eating healthy foods. so i tried to exercise and eat healthy foods, but i still have this bloated lower abdomen. even when i have a BM. i have a BM everyday,my period is nomal. I dont feel any pain though just a bit of discomfort. i will go to the doctor probably next week, i cant go today because it is our finals and i know the doc will have to do various tests.
For three years, I have felt some pain or discomfort (with variable intensity, 'attacking' and then sometimes completely disappearing) in the right lower abdomen and around the belly button, however most often and most obviously placed at the height of the navel and right next to it on the right, but also not infrequently present in other places.
Sometimes I eat something small like soup and i get the worst craps and bloating in my upper stomach region. It never goes higher then my lower espohagus and it lasts for a few hours. 2 weeks ago I had one of these experiences and i touched my lower stomach and i found a spot that was incredibly tender and felt like a sharp pain when i touched it. It's about the size of a quarter and tends to move.
Then I wait a bit then the pain got worse I decide to go to the Hospital after 3 week's of no bowel movement, having pain in my abdomen nausea, back pain, they took other ex-ray and I was still full but with alot of air, they decide to send me for CT-scan and again nothing could not understand what was wrong with me,send me back home.
About bloating and burning sensation in the stomach - ask for a test for H. pylori infection of your stomach. Right lower pains related with irregular period would require further gynecological investigations (eventualy including laparoscopy to check for endometriosis), I guess.
Since December I have had intermittent pain in my lower left pelvic area. At first I thought it was ovulation pain, but I never got my period and all pg tests were neg. (Still nursing, still no period). The pain comes and goes very sporadically but is always on the left side. At times the pain is just a dull ache and worsens when I touch the area. On occasion (most recently yesterday) I become unable to walk.
My bladder also feels very heavy and full all the time but my OBGYN said the swelling is in my lower abdomen not my bladder and is sending me to get an ultrasound....anyone have any clue what could be wrong? MY urine culture shows no bacteria and I have no pain.
According to my neurosurgeon, my new catheter was placed in the left side of my neck through the middle of my chest and sits on my liver. For over a week, I have had this weird bloating in my lower abdomen. I look like I'm pregnant..my belly is so round and it's hard, not squishy as it usually is. I somewhat slender, so this is weird. I recently was on my period but I usually don't get bloated to the point where I notice. The bloating has not decreased or increased in size, from what I notice.
Hello, I've had lower abdominal aching/bloating for the past 8/9 years and most recently in the past year it's effecting my lower back and causing lower back ache/pain. Lately it's seem to be a little bit worse as far as the bloating feeling goes. It happens more now right after I eat something or drink something.. It's a dull bloating aching, I wouldnt say it was painful, more of an irritating uncomfortable ache. Kind of like if I had to pee real bad and have been holding it for a long time.

I am having pain in my lower abdomen, my right rib cage under my breast, and around my right shoulder blade. The pain in my abdomen is sharp and worse when I apply pressure. This happens often and is usually accompanied by severe gas heartburn and bloating. Any ideas?
When I get up in the morning, my stomach (abdomen) is almost flat, by 5 PM, I have gained at least 4 to 5 inches around my abdomen, I look like I am pregnant. It is miserable, my doctor said my CT scan showed that all of my tissue in my abdomen was now scar tissue and nothing can be done. I am miserable, have a hard time breathing, sitting, walking or doing anything. Does anyone have or had this type of symton? I had explosive diaherra for 5 months in 1999 when this started.
Can you locate the bloating (under the ribs, lower abdomen...)? Any pain, and where - upper or lower right or left abdomen ? Any other symptoms like diziness, jaundice, any positive tests so far? How old are you?

It is very obvious, like something crawling inside me when it gurgles, but looking in a mirror it appears that the whole abdomen is bloated. This bloating causes my a certain kind of ANXIETY, and not just because I am in pain... it seems more like gagging or pressure on my stomach. To me it seems like a type of diverticulitis, but large pouches instead of the small pouches I see in the medical info.
