Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?

Two missed periods and negative blood test. All while on birth control (Loestrin 24 started bills on 10/23 first sign of bleeding). Can I be pregnant? Thyroid and anemia test are negative.

I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????

I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.

Did u have irregular bleeding before starting birth control? Any bleeding in between periods?

I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly? Thanks so much!

I've been on Loestrin 24 fe for about a year now. I take it regularly and consistently, but vomited a few hours after taking one pill of this month's pack. I'm on the second day of the placebo pills now, and I did not have a period last month at all. My boyfriend and I have been having sex, without using condoms, for 5 months and everything has been fine, but I'd like some reassurance. Could missing that one pill in the first week of pills cause me to be pregnant?

ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.

Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? Ok, my obgyn put me on Loestrin 24 to help alleviate my severe cramps, which has worked. I have been on Loestrin since December of 2007. Even now, my periods are completely sporatic, and unpredictable. I averaged(since I started the pills) 1-2 periods a month, but they were and still are very light. But in October, I had three periods, no crapms, and all three periods consisted of a vinegary smelling dark brown blood. I even tried using a ******, and I wash down there every time I shower.

Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?

I was on Loestrin 24 for 5 years. It does help I did not have any problems with it at all. I just received my diagnosis of endmetriosis in August. I actually had to change pills because I started not getting my periods bc I had been on it so long. I did not gain any weight and did not have any bloating with the pill. I loved it. I was put on the pill at 16 due to severe menstrual cramping. I def. recommend that pill.

you might call it spotting because its not alot. i am on loestrin 24 fe birth control and i just finished an antibiotic called azithromycin for an ear infection. i got a pelvic ultrasound/sonogram done last week and everything is fine. my doctor wanted me to do some tests since the ultrasound was normal, but she went on vacation and wont be back until march 25. please help! im very scared. is it because of the antibiotic that im bleeding? or is it something else???? what can it be?

I voted yes. Before trying for a baby I was on Loestrin 24 for 7 years. And one time I was on antibiotics and didn't think about back up protection and got pregnant. It ended in a miscarriage, but not from being on the pill. Loestrin 24 worked great for me, minus that whoops. It was my own fault and not that of the pill. And after I have this baby I will go back on it.

I would just be interested to know whether anyone (or someone you know) has ever got pregnant on the pill? And if so did you have bleeding (maybe misinterpreted as a period) in the early stages of the pregnancy?

I was prescribed a benzoyl peroxide wash and clindamycin phosphate roll-on and it worked great. I was on it for like a year or so and hardly ever break out anymore.
