Avatar f tn Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?
Avatar m tn Well in less than 48 hours of being on macrobid she said all her symptoms were gone.. MY question is.. Could her bladder infection have been caused by an std (chlamydia, gonorrhea), and if it was would the macrobid have gotten rid of her symptoms or cured it?
Avatar f tn Kidneys gets swollen mainly due to back pressure changes due to obstruction caused either by stone or some growth at junction of ureter and bladder, in case ultrasound is normal, next step is to go for cystoscopy in which bladder is visualized for some inflammation or growth.

Avatar f tn Drink pure cranberry juice like they said but...most women get a urinary tract or bladder infection due to wiping wrong (Always wipe front to back), and/or having sex & not going pee after. A lot of people do not know it but if u wash ur hands before & after going pee (dont quote me on exact %) i heard it decreased you chance of getting any infection, (esp bladder or a common cold) by 50%.
Avatar f tn Often, the bacteria stop in your bladder and multiply there, causing inflammation. If it reaches your kidneys is could cause issues for the baby and you. By not staying hydrated, there is nothing to flush out the bacteria. It could also just be bacteria that just doesn't get flushed out if you are hydrated. It's common in women. Make sure after sex you pee right away and not hold pee. Go as soon as you need to. Glad you're staying on top of it.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms that you have mentioned, the first possibility that comes to my mind is gall bladder colic or biliary colic. It can be due to cholecystitis(inflammation of gall bladder) or gall bladder stones. I would suggest an ultrasound abdomen to confirm the diagnosis. Other possibilities are irritable bowel syndrome, hepatitis(inflammation of the liver), kidney stones, pneumonia, musculoskeletal pain, lower rib fracture and malignancy.

4476664 tn?1361632949 I was told I have slightly elevated nitrate, which could mean a bladder infection, but it was caught early enough for me not have any symptoms. Doc is prescribing me some meds that I will be taking for seven days.
Avatar m tn Most prostatitis is non-infectious. Antibiotics are routinely tried in the hope they will improve symptoms, but mostly they have no effect. Prostatitis symptoms usually include bladder symptoms as well; it doesn't mean there is a separate bladder infection and you can expect your urine culture to be negative. There is no evidence that trich causes prostatitis, but some doctors include one of the anti-trichomonas treatments (metronidazole or tinidazole) if other antibiotics don't work.
Avatar n tn The most common cause of red blood cells in the urine is a bladder infection. Other caused such as kidney stones, menstruation contamination of the sample, kidney disease, and bladder of kidney cancer. A microscopic urine analysis is usually done to confirm the presents of red blood cells and urine culture is often done to rule out infection. If red cells are present in significant numbers, a CT scan of the kidneys and bladder are done.

1840891 tn?1431547793 In a person with a catheter, the only symptom may be fever that cannot be attributed to any other cause. Normally, UTIs do not cause fever if they are in the bladder. A fever may mean the infection has reached the kidneys or has penetrated the prostate. Other symptoms of a kidney infection include pain in the back or side below the ribs, nausea, and vomiting. How are UTIs treated?

Avatar n tn Hello, This can be due to interstitial cystitis, pelvic inflammatory disease or urethral syndrome. It is a primarily female syndrome in which women suffer from irritative bladder symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, burning , and a hesitant or slowed urinary stream) in the absence of any objective urologic findings. In this the diagnosis can be made only by the proper collections of urine specimens from both the urethra and the bladder.

Avatar f tn Good grief! You need to get your dog to a vet as soon as possible. Urinary infections are extremely painful as you may know if you've ever had one yourself. This is more than a simple infection and you need a vet to assess his symptoms. It's possible he may have developed bladder stones which can be fatal if not removed. Please make that call now!
Avatar f tn Hi, Its is common for patients who have Interstitial Cystitis to have a few real urinary tract infections in the past, then start to have symptoms with no infection in the urine. White blood cells in the urine don't necessarily mean infection and needs a workup if the cultures are negative. A urine culture is key rule in or rule out the infection. If there is no infection by the culture but you still have symptoms you may have IC.

These specimens will reveal the presence of white blood cells in the urethral washings, while the midstream (bladder) specimen will be free of cells.
Avatar f tn Have just finished a course of anti-biotics for a bladder infection and a 3 day course of Caneston for vaginal thrush, so why do you think there is still bladder pressure?
409451 tn?1206896632 If all these tests come back normal, then they usually just continue to check you twice a year or yearly. Bladder cancer is rare in younger women, but of course all cancer is possible at any age, which is why it needs to be evaluated by a doctor. Now your symptoms do sound much like mine did, and I ended up being diagnosed with overactive bladder, which can also cause microscopic blood in the urine. It caused me to have bladder pressure, frequency, urgency, and back pain.
