bladder infection labor

My doctor said that I have a bladder infection type:strep which can cause problems and can affect your baby. Does anyone know more or has had a kid and had this?

Does anyone have or had a bladder infection (UTI) during pregnancy? What did u do to get rid of it without meds? Doctor refused to give meds and I'm glad she didn't.

I'm 17weeks n I jst found out I have a bladder infection n they want to give me pills it won't hurt the baby bt its jst so hard for me to take pills I'm evn takeing gummy prenatal pills. will the bladder infection go away on its own if I dnt take pills??

I think if you still have it (the yeast infection) they'll put you on antibiotics during labor, I'm not sure with a uti though, but I don't think it would be as concerning as a yeast infection since they don't come in contact with your bladder or kidneys or anything.

It could also just be pressure on your bladder!

I was on antibiotics for a bladder infection I didn't even know I had. They say the infection could cause more problems then the antibiotics. (I guess preterm labor is the risk with a bladder infection)I've been taking cranberry pills since the infection to try to prevent future infections. Most importantly drink plenty of fluids.

So they ran test came back and i had a bladder infection which my doc said it was a labor induced bladder infection which comes from stress at times. I didnt or have not gone into labor tho. Ive been hurting a lot.

Since yesterday my stomach as been off and on really tight, really crampy, and a back ache that just continues to get worse. I'm 37 weeks 5 days so i'm waiting for 'know' when labor is starting. I had blood in my urine at 24 weeks and was treated for a bladder infection, i always had period like cramping with it..so just make sure to call ur doctor tomorrow if u still have blood in ur urine so they can make sure its not a bladder infection!

I have a chronic uti/bladder infection that I've been on antibiotics for. I have to keep taking them up until I deliver. My dr said uti/bladder infection can cause pre term labor if I don't take the meds to suppress my bladder. Hope things go well for you today.

FTM but I'm also a labor nurse. It could be a urinary tract infection, yeast infection, or possibly something called bacterial vaginosis (a simple bacteria that is usually in your vagina, only they is now a lot of it causing irritation). As for possibly leaking amniotic fluid, I would recommend putting on a pad and walking around for about an hour. If your continuing to leak onto the pad it should be evaluated by the hospital.

contractions every 3 minfor 8 hrs. Turned out i had the beginnings of a bladder infection that was so early that could not be picked up by the quick test they did. Contractions picked up by monitor and i was not dilated. They stopped by themself and i was sent home. Phoned the next day with results that showed infection. Hope you are in the beginning of labour though..

I went to the hospital and turns out not only did I still have a bladder infection, it was in the process of becoming a kidney infection and the pain I was feeling was actually my bladder and kidneys CONTRACTING. They had to pump me with 2 bags of fluid because I was so dehydrated even though all I had been doing was drinking water. Don't put it off..trust me it's not worth it.

Had to get one when I got checked today because I thought I was in labor because of the excruciating back pain but to no avail I still wasn't dilated. I was slightly forced to get a catheter to check for a bladder infection to what's causing the back pain. I literally have leaked a lot since they inserted and removed it. Your Dr should have taken a urine sample at that appt and tested for infection. They are super common, so I would get tested regardless of where the baby is.

can my girlfriend get a bladder infection after we had unprotected sex while i'm on the pegasys/ ribaviron treament. was curious if that was another reason they wanted us to use condoms and the pill too. wasn't sure if my semen can cause an infection or not, this is twice it has happend since i started treament a month and a half ago.

You definitely need to call your doctor because bladder infections and uti's can hurt the baby if not treated properly. I know how it is, I've had chronic uti's and bladder infections since i was little. What i do is drink a gallon of cranberry juice in a day, pee as much as possible.
