747152 tn?1240320709 This happened in Feb. also, after a vet visit and 350 bucks later, they said she had a bladder infection. ( she is fixed) What could be causing this to reoccur? Could she have stones? In Feb. she got really bad, and even after we started giving her the medicine and special food, it seemed to get worse before it got better. She was in pain and was wanting out every 5 minutes.
Avatar f tn stones, for example, or a tumor in the bladder. (not necessarily cancer) Even a benign tumor could cause some irritation. I wonder if your vet could perform an ultrasound? Rawhide can cause problems -certainly. But I doubt if it would cause bladder problems.
Avatar f tn My vet spayed my 6month old puppy in December and she ended up with a strep infection in her bladder. It is four months later, she still has trouble urinating, has crystals in the urine. I have been told that the strep infection is gone but she still had the crystals. what could be causing the crystals, there are no stones in the bladder.
Avatar n tn Good morning to you! Sorry to hear that your old girl is having a rough time! Have you discussed the potential of arthritis with your veterinarian? It's estimated that more than 20% of dogs in the US have arthritis. You might call your veterinarian and ask about safe and approved arthritis medications for dogs. A good exam should also be done, along with blood work and a urinalysis to help determine what is ailing her. When was her last physical?
Avatar f tn It could be Diabetes, that is usually the first thing to look at with these signs. He could also have a UTI infection, but most male dogs don't get them, but they can get them. If it is diabetes, you would give him a shot twice a day and maybe some pills, if it a UTI, then a round of antibiotis. I hate that as our beloved pets get old they get ill, but so do we. Please let us know what you learn.
Avatar f tn There is a possibility he has either a very bad urinary infection...or a bladder tumor...or bladder stones. Unfortunately to diagnose whatever is going on means the vets will have to run a few tests, and of course, this costs money. And I know it is difficult to find that money up-front. But that's the way it goes when we care for dogs. One minute they are fine -the next minute an emergency comes up where money is needed.
Avatar f tn My doctor said i have a bladder infection but i dont feel any of the symptoms does anyone no why normally if i have a bladder infection i know
Avatar m tn First, you need to have a Vet rule out any Urinary Tract Infection and/or Bladder/Kidney Stones causing the urination...If all medical issues are clear, then retraining is next....Most times older dogs have a fixable reason to suddenly start peeing in the house......
4476664 tn?1361632949 I was told I have slightly elevated nitrate, which could mean a bladder infection, but it was caught early enough for me not have any symptoms. Doc is prescribing me some meds that I will be taking for seven days.
Avatar f tn I had a uti in my first trimester
Avatar m tn Ive had many and once i didnt get treatment for 24 hours after the UTI showed symptoms and it was awful (tho that was a very bad infection) Hope you get sorted, bladder infections are something i'd never wish on anyone lol
Avatar f tn Possibly an ultrasound scan of her bladder, and certainly urinalysis to check for bacteria in the urine. If it is a bladder infection, it's possible a course of antibiotics will clear it. If it is Pyometra, then it is serious and she needs her womb removed. If it is a bladder issue then that is also serious too, and needs attention quickly. Surely the vet would discuss this with you? Or do some more investigation?
Avatar m tn Resently Doctor decided to take Urine test and found bladder infection and gave me CIPRO as an antibiotic. I feel rush under my ribs and pain in the back (right side). Do you think that this infection can cause that? I am still taking this CIPRO things and hope that this'll help. Do you know if lymph nodes can case pain or infection could go up from bladder and affect other areas? Please help!
Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection, found out when i went to my doctors appt Thursday. But the only symptoms i have is pelvic pain, it doesn't hurt to pee and i dont bleed.
Avatar f tn Good grief! You need to get your dog to a vet as soon as possible. Urinary infections are extremely painful as you may know if you've ever had one yourself. This is more than a simple infection and you need a vet to assess his symptoms. It's possible he may have developed bladder stones which can be fatal if not removed. Please make that call now!
Avatar n tn You need to make an appointment with your vet to see what the cause of the redness is. If it's in both ears, it could be caused by allergies or he could have a yeast infection in his ears. A yeast infection, while not as easy to clear up as a run-of-the-mill ear infection, CAN be cured with medication.
Avatar f tn Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?
Avatar f tn He says he finds it is best for any secondary bacterial infection following surgery. I could not find anything on the net regarding use in cats, everything says it's for dogs only.
Avatar m tn This is a very common problem encountered in dogs and cats. The most likely diagnosis is a bladder stone. Rarely are urinary tract infections so severe that the owner can detect blood. It could be a UTI but either way your vet will need to see her. Expect a urine test and radiographs be recommended. Both of these conditions are quite painful so please seek veterinary attention immediately.
Avatar f tn Have just finished a course of anti-biotics for a bladder infection and a 3 day course of Caneston for vaginal thrush, so why do you think there is still bladder pressure?

Avatar n tn He Ph levels are perfect, no kidney stones, and no infection. He is not in pain but urinating blood cannot be good. He will urinate normally and then when he is outside for a while and starts to mark on various things his urine changes from normal to bloody. The same result happens after he has been outside running. A few hours later he will urinate and the color is back to normal. PLEASE HELP!
Avatar f tn Hi Brandy, is it possible that your dog is in heat?? If not that then maybe she has a bladder infection. You should probably call your vet and see what they have to say. We just adopted a dog yesterday. She is 6 months and we have 30 days to get her fixed. We will be doing that soon as they told us yesterday that most dogs go into heat between 6 and 12 months. HOpe this helps.
Avatar f tn Welcome.....Any blood from any area is NOT normal (Unless it's a heat cycle in a female).....So, yes there is cause for concern......Panting hard is usually associated w/pain! My first thought is your guy has a UTI and needs to be treated....Left unattended, these infections can migrate to the Bladder & Kidneys which are harder to treat....Oral antibiotics will be given & a recheck of urine in a couple of weeks to make sure the infection is cleared......
Avatar m tn It could be a bladder infection (cystitis) If it is, it should respond to antibiotic treatment, and that may be what your vet will do first. If her condition responds to antibiotics, probably that's what is was. On the other hand bleeding could be caused by bladder stones possibly. Usually I think they would show up on an ultrasound. That might be the next move if it isn't simple cystitis. Cystitis can be quite common in female dogs. Mine had it once, and Amoxycillin got rid of it.
