Bladder infection in dogs symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Bladder infection in dogs symptoms

However, she shows no signs of any symptoms of bladder infection? Now that's strange. Considering the vet has diagnosed a bladder infection. Did he get those results from testing a urine sample? If so, then fair enough. I suppose it is possible for there to be a 'symptomless' infection going on. And that may mean the infection was caught at an early stage before symptoms had a chance to develop. Yet I would be inclined to take her to another vet to get a second opinion.
I had frequent and urgent urination but no blood. I would keep going in to get tested for a bladder infection but never had one. I think it would be rare to have blood except in a very advanced case and you would likely have several symptoms at that point. Usually, the tumor just puts pressure on the bladder. I did have back pain but it was crampy and I could feel it through to my front. Please follow up with a gyn if you have concerns.
It is completely heart wrenching when their time comes to leave us, just as with human friends and family that we lose over time. In the end, all we can do is offer our dogs all the reassurance, love and attention they deserve and be as kind and humane as we possibly can. They need us to be strong and do the right thing ... regardless of how much it hurts us, it's one of the many responsibilities of being a good owner. My heart goes out to you. Give Shaggy an extra hug from me.
Collies, as a breed, have some of the most human traits I've ever seen in dogs! My collies have always had that big Collie grin in their photos, but Adam actually SMILES! At first we thought he was showing his teeth but then it dawned on us that he does it when he's happy and after he does it, he gets a bad attack of the "happies" and dances around wiggling himself for all he's worth!
I had bladder sling surgery in 2002. In 2009, I developed a cystocele and it has been very uncomfortable. Could it be that the sling has created this cystocele? If so, what are my options. I was told when I had the sling surgery that it would probably last only about 5 years. So, what happens to the mesh sling?
A couple of months ago we lost our beloved 7-year-old lab to complications from bladder stones. She showed no symptoms at all of a bladder or urinary condition until early one Sunday morning when she was unable to urinate at all. We immediately took her to the vet, her bladder was drained and they did an ultrasound that clearly showed bladder stones. The vet thought the condition could be treated with meds (antibiotics) and a special acidic food that should dissolve the stones.
(That is, if she has definitely been spayed) Any discharge from her vagina is likely to be a bladder infection. An uncomplicated bladder infection can be treated easily with antibiotics, but if it is left to continue, you run the risk of infection spreading to her kidneys. So take her to the vet now. The problem with loose stools may, or may not be connected.
I just lost one of my other dogs a week ago, seeing her go though this is just killing me. IS SHE IN PAIN? When she goes through these spells does that mean she cant breath? cause I can hear it in her chest. like a weez. PLEASE help. I'm just at a loss of what to do anymore. But, when she isn't going through these spells she is as happy as can be. Running around like a puppy.
When there's widespread numbness and tingling along with other scattered symptoms, it's difficult to localize the lesion to specific spots in the brain that may be damaged by MS. However, there is a small amount of patients who DO have nonspecific, vague neurologic symptoms that don't localize anywhere and the MRI shows classic MS spots throughout the brain and spinal cord. In your case, though, the MRI (should have brain AND spine) was clean which makes the diagnosis of MS much less likely.
I never had any symptoms that I was aware of before this time. It came on as sudden as the flu. In a couple of weeks I went from running and lifting weights every week to sitting in a chair. Did anybody experience this or did your symptoms come on more gradually?
i am usually regular/on time. i had all the mentioned above symptoms and i questioned in my i pregnant? then i said, wait a minute, my husband and i didnt have sex for a whole month so it cant be that! you probably have period symptoms if HPT is negative.
A lady was using this supplement for her dog just to give her dog the necessary enzymes/nutrients not present in cooked kibble, (that are found in raw food). She discovered, as a side bonus that her dogs incontinence ceased after starting her dog on the Fresh Factors. It works. You can double or triple the dose if you wish, to boost it in the beginning, as well, with absolute safety/no harm or ill effects, whatsoever. Anyways, I tried it, and it works.
Yes, the slide downward is small, but it's heading in the right direction. Things are improving!!! It is very common for dogs with CKF to develop anaemia. It means the bone marrow is unable to produce enough red blood cells. And in turn, this is caused by an inability to produce erythropoietin, one of the hormones involved in red cell production. Your vet needs to undertake a blood test for levels of erythropoietin.
Hi Sebastiandelacroix- I am having some of the same symptoms as you and am wondering what it is also. I am interested in knowing if you have some of the others I have had...along with the involuntary twitching in my legs and numbness and tingling in my arms and hands I have had fatigue and migraines. My doc put me on a heart medication for my migraines and they have subsided for the most part but now the twitching and arm/hand probs have arisen.
Could this all be related somehow being I was in good health until this onset of symptoms and bladder floor confusion shown in urodynamics?? Should I request full intestinal pill camera investigation being the diverticulum protruded into abdominal cavity just 1 cm under right kidney? Any additional treatments you would suggest?
Is there some other symptom FYI - in June of last year, I had to take her to the vet due to an infection in her mammary glands. It healed with hydrotherapy and meds. The tests showed non malignancy. Please help as I love this dog.
I went to my GP 9 days after a casual, unprotected sexual encounter, as I thought I had a UTI. Symptoms being feeling of full bladder, frequent urination, low grade ache in lower abdomen after going and a need to go soon again. Just very uncomfortable. He prescribed me with Keflex (without doing a urine test) and at my request screened me via blood and urine tests for STDs. This test came back NEGATIVE! After a 10 days on the antibiotics I saw no improvement and went back to the GP.
I was shocked when his urine culture came back with a bad infection. Usually when he gets a bladder infection, its obvious b/c he has blood and dribbles smelly urine. This was totally different--just gallons of clear urine. The vet said dogs will drink more when they have a UTI, and thus will urinate more. He probably needs a UA and a culture. I hope that's all it is. Jake has to be evaluated for a stone, if this happens again.
High phosphorus accelerates renal failure, and restricted phosphorus slows it down. K/D is low in phosphorus, so it's a good food for dogs in this condition. Or it is possible -with some good research- to home-cook a Renal diet. In addition to diet, IV fluids can be administered to correct disturbances created by the retention of uremic toxins. Epogen can be prescribed to treat the anemia of chronic renal failure.
I found a tick in the back of my leg, fished it out in one piece, was having strange new symptoms, and happened to be seeing an ID doc in the next couple of days ... so I took the tick and my bitten spot to the appointment. The doc peered at the bite and at the tick, pronounced it 'rather buggy' and sent me home. Full stop. Lesson: ID docs can be particularly stubborn when it comes to Lyme. I hope yours is different!!

The fact that this puppy is only four months old is baffling, because idiopathic epilepsy usually is first seen in dogs in the 2-3 year old range. While it is not unheard of for it to occur in young puppies, in their case it is more often due to a head injury or some type of illness, like hypoglycemia. Reno007, what breed(s) is this puppy? Is he a large breed mix? A toy mix? How many times a day are you feeding him?
I take phenergan myself for constant nausea, and discovered late in the game that dogs can also take phenergan. It didn't work quite as well as the reglan, but at that point we tried anything we could get our hands on. Over the counter Dramamine for motion sickness can be tried as it is metabolized in the liver - got that info from an ER vet nearby.
I've been going to the doctor for a month and a half now and so far they have no idea what's wrong with me.
It is hard to explain but it is a miserable feeling.. I was recently on penicillin for a bladder infection and my mouth was so sore I could not eat. I am wondering if certain meds trigger this re-action. I am 71 years old and have had a few allergies and sinus problems, but otherwise in good health..I wish you all the very best and hope we can find something to stop this...
unfortunately we all seem to suffer from an ailment but at least i know that alot of people have similar symptoms and its reasurring that we dont suffer in silence and can possibly get ideas to help with bad back pain.i think we all know to be sensible and to check with our doctors before doing anything drastic to ourselves, eventhough i'm sure most of us will try anything to get rid of the pain that comes in the morning.
I have had the same symptoms in my lower left leg. I Googled the problem and found your comments. I am going to the Dr. on Monday. I will post what ever I find.
My GP was reluctant to send me for an ultrasound and told me he could not understand why I was feeling tired and lacking in energy, however he did request the ultrasound.
