I recently was diagnosed with a bladder infection and gonorrhea that I caught in the early stages. I have been treated by taking oral antibiotics and receiving a concentrated shot containing some type of antibiotic. I have expressed the concern to my wife she went in for pelvic exam, std check and urinalysis.
Her urinalysis came back already showing no symptoms or white blood cells present. However wet prep showed white blood cell count, and trace of bacteria infection which is not a STD.
8 days later now - have a cold (several people in our business meeting had one), sore throat (not that bad), had some bladder cramping (been told I have overactive bladder and have had prosthetitis in the past on several occasions.

Never heard of a STD causing a bladder infection. Yes bladder infections are caused by bacteria but STD's stay localized where the infection took place. Also some medications can cure a STD, but never heard of anyone saying that would cure a STD.
Took the Flagyl and 4 days of Levaquin and resumed contact with normal monogomous partner. Partner later developed what GYN called a bladder infection with horrible back pains and frequent urination / urgency. She rcvd, Nitrofuran mono 100mg and took several days...did not work. Went to PCP and he gave her 6 days of Levaquin 500 mg and 5 days of Flagyl 250 mg 3 per day. That seemed to clear her up.

5 months ago. She just disclosed recently she developed what she believes is a bladder infection. She described her symptoms as a burning sensation when urinating, frequent desire to urinate and some abdominal pain. She saw a PA who prescribed Cephalexin 500mg/3xday. She's been on them for 4 days now and her symptoms have been reduced but she still describes a mild burning sensation and cramp like in her lower abdomen.
I have had NO symptoms of an STD or bladder infection at all.
