Avatar f tn My only issue is I have a bladder infection. I asked my doc how could I avoid getting them and what causes them. He said that it comes from having sex and jellybean always sitting or bouncing on my bladder. I'm like so Im pretty much going to keep getting them :(...
Avatar n tn After 5-10 min I experience bladder discomfort (like I need to void but bladder is empty) and left labial discomfort. It resolves sometimes within 10 more minutes, other times It continues to the end of my walk. It only happens during this walk. I am 62 and also have a known L5S1 disc herniation with mild stenosis. Is this something urological or related to my spine?
Avatar f tn Assuming this is not an infection or other structural problem like a kidney stone in the ureter, he needs a urodynamic evaluation. This is a test of bladder function where a catheter is placed in the bladder, it is filled up with water and pressures during bladder filling and emptying are done. You said he gets up 20-30X per night. Is this his sleep apnea? I assume he urinates frequently during the day as well (20-30X per 24 hrs).
Avatar f tn All of that advice is good, however I notice that you are having pain when the bladder fills which is why you are limiting your fluids. There are many things that can cause this pain and frequency, it could even be chronic cystitis or interstitial cystitis. The symptoms are the same and a good urologist can help diagnosis the problems. Either way you have bladder pain and frequency. There are some self help things etc. can help you while you see a diagnosis!
380741 tn?1205624367 WHAT???? i have IC, and my urologist who is a pro with this DISEASE!!!! for sure IS NOT; NOT FROM HERPES ANYTHING!!!! The FDA just approved not long ago the medicine called Elmiron for oral and vaginal for installations. This DISEASE is by far caused from HERPES. It is almost the same as diverticulitus, as though the bacteria grows ON the walls of a week bladder.
Avatar n tn A distended bladder can result from an infection which causes the bladder to swell and the sensation to urinate, but nothing is released. Maybe bring it up to your Dr...
409451 tn?1206896632 s reaction to the infection in the bladder wall get out of control, causes pain and more inflammation to occur, perpetuating a vicious cycle. The bladder wall cannot repair itself and IC develops.
18533109 tn?1465640552 OK, first off stones start off in the kidneys, most are formed from oxalate, not from a urinary infection. Now, kidney stones can make you feel like you have in infection, or may indeed cause an infection in the area (ureter) they are, if they are in the ureter, that is one of two tubes that come from the kidneys, one tube for each kidney about 6m or so in diameter, in females they are about 50-70mm long each one empties urine in the bladder and then pass through the larger diameter urethra.
Avatar m tn Hi there, In urinary tract infection backache is very common. Bladder infection, pyelonephritis are other causes of lower back ache. You may take a muscle relaxant for pain relief. An ultrasound scan may be helpful in detecting if there is any kidney stone or anatomic /structural problem with the kidneys. Other causes of backache are injury or overuse of muscles, ligaments, and joints. It is suggested to get evaluated by your attending doctor.
Avatar n tn I think more info would be helpful, as a bladder infection should be curable. Usually, the inability to empty the bladder is due to a structural or other problem, not an infection unless I suppose if the infection has been there undetected for so long it caused irreversible damage. But again, the treatment for a UTI is to cure it, and then it's gone. So again, more info might get a better answer from someone.
729288 tn?1251254433 9 fever and the doc said it was a bladder infection that spread to my kidneys? Sunday, all at once I got chills and my fever shot up. On Tuesday I saw my family doc ( my gastro always says to see my family doc) and this time on top of the kidney infection I have some really bad wheezing and he said infection in my lungs and sinuses. More antibiotics. He also said all bladder infections stem from different types of ecoli. Now here is my question.
587946 tn?1240925653 Last year I had a bladder infection every month. Severe pain with urination, throbbing in my urethra, pressure in my stomach, frequency, urgency, cloudy urine, and blood (visible, sometimes clots). Took antibiotics and seemed better until the next month. Saw a urologist, he did a cystoscopy and saw nothing unusual. He did a urethral dialation because I had scarring. He did a cat scan and still saw nothing unusual.
Avatar f tn A uti can turn into a kidney infection in a matter of hours and after that if left untreated long enough can become an infection in the blood that causes miscarriages. Utis are no joke and cranberry juice is no guarantee to help.
Avatar f tn The dropped bladder stretches the opening into the urethra, and urine may leak when any action that causes pressure on the bladder, such as coughing occurs. It would be best to have your abdominal pain evaluated by your doctor to rule out other causes. A complete physical examination and some tests may be done to determine the underlying cause. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn If antibiotics does not help and pain subsides on Ibuprofen, since flushing away of smaller stones from ureter to bladder, finally into urine causes such radiating pain of lower back, thighs and dysuria or haematuria. Interstitial Cystitis could be also one of the causes but it is a chronic condition which should be ruled out clinically as Dysuria and Sterile urine reports suggest that and cystoscopy hydrodistention test,USG confirms it.
Avatar f tn My Daughter is 4 years old and has been getting a bladder infection almost monthly for 15 months the second infection was a very resistant bacteria but she was given antibiotics by a clinic doctor and they told my to follow up with our pediatrician, we did so and have been getting infections ever since as a result of the infections she is still not trained some days are good for no accidents others she could have 6 accidents in the afternoon only.
Avatar m tn It can be due to inflammation, infection, damage or injury to the bladder. Urinary tract infection and interstitial cystitis are among the most common. The general treatment of interstitial cystitis is medications like opioids and tricyclic antidepressants but there are other treatment methods also. These include Bladder hydrodistention, bladder training, medications via bladder instillation like dimethyl sulfoxide (DMS), heparin and Clorpactin and surgery is kept as the last resort.
Avatar f tn This started as a UTI infection the Urologist stated but now I have none and stated my bladder is just spasming out. They tried to put me on Tovias but no relief does not work. Has anybody else ever had this problem and does anybody know how to cure it. The only thing that makes it bearable is lots of water and vitamin C tablets but does not stop it. HELP!!!!
4476664 tn?1361632949 I was told I have slightly elevated nitrate, which could mean a bladder infection, but it was caught early enough for me not have any symptoms. Doc is prescribing me some meds that I will be taking for seven days.

Avatar f tn Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?
