birth control yaz weight gain

birth control does make you gain weight. i hear it's as much as 5- 15 lbs!

I would like to hear your opinions about Yaz/Yasmin Birth Control. Have you had any side effects? Has this pill been helpful to you? I have dedicated a support group website for women and girls who have previously or currently taking Yaz/Yasmin Birth Control. Please take a moment to view webiste, YazForum and post your experience while taking this medication. We need to hear your stories to make others aware of this birth control.

A year a ago I was on a pill and I thought that my anxiety and weight was an issue so I changed to the Yaz combined pill. My anxiety and weight haven't changed. I have never had trouble with weight until this past 2 years and although I am watching what I eat and exercise 3 times a week nothings is working. I also get extremely lethargic the week before my period and this has been since my last child 10 years ago. Is there any pill out there that will help?

I am planning to get rid of this IUD. Please help me if any one else having this kind of issues. Any other suggations for birth control.

I have been taking YAZ for about nine months and have recently decided to go off birth control all together. I stopped taking the pills about three weeks ago and I have been bleeding on and off ever since. I'm wondering if this is normal and will go away or if I should start taking the pills again, or maybe switch to a different birth control. I'm also concerned because I don't want to start a new birth control routine and gain more weight. What should I do!? Please help!

This is my first week on these two medications. I was told that I have PCOS a week ago. I was wondering what side effects you have had from these drugs. Over the past year, I have gained 50 pounds by changing nothing at all. This gain happened while I was doing 1.5 hr cardio a day with weights & eating around 800 calories. (5'4, 160 now). My Dr. told me that Metformin would help with lowering my weight.Yet, I'm now on Yaz.

really good is the mirena. it goes in and stays there for an entire year, then u go back to the gyno and get it replaced. this happens for 5 years. after the 5th year u take it out and wait a few months to get another 5 year doses. This way, you never had to worry about skin problems, missing your pill, or taking a painful shot. it doesnt hurt wen inserted,not wen taken out.

I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. I've experienced depression, anxiety, headaches, weird breathing/yawning side effects, you name it...

i was on the yaz and i didnt gain weight i actually lost weight!! but i had got prego on it! so now i with the mirena ! i beleive if you find yourself craving then just control it and eat healthy meals 3x a day and snack healthy 2x a day and excersise 3-4 time a week you should be fine!

Some people do gain weight, while others do not. If you find yourself gaining weight, bring it to the doctors attention as there are a variety of pills to choose from. But not taking it, will cause a big weight gain and a permanent change in your future plans.

What all side effects should I expect on Yaz birth control pills, I have been taking it for 1 month and so far I have been having extremely sore breasts, is this very common?

So I had my baby 2wks ago and don't know what kind of birth control I wanna be on. Which would u ladies recommend or which ones are u planning to be on?

I have always had irregular and intense (severe cramps, bleeding, mood swings) periods. I have tried several types of birth control to help with this and of course they do regulate the periods, but they are never less intense and the other side effects of the pill (nausea, weight gain, constant mood swings) are always so severe that I honestly would rather just have the irregular periods.

I have been reading a lot of really horrible things about birth control and I am trying to find out how safe it really is. I am not taking it for the birth control aspect, but for pmdd and acne. I am curious about the effect of decreased sex drive- it's important to me and my relationship, and wondering if EVERYONE has this side effect because of the effects on testosterone and is this a lasting effect even if I were to stop taking it.

Im actually on the same birth control but Ive only been on it for a week and a few days I noticed im getting head acks too and its been a little over week since Ive had my period as well and just recently started getting a weird discharge, Also I feel nausiated some times too specially when I try to go eat. Sorry I couldnt help you but Ive been looking forever to find out about whats going on with me lately, your post just sort of helped a little.

what birth control doesnt make you gain weight cause im 15 and just got diagnosed with pmdd and i need something that will help me with that and also keep my weight stable.....

m wondering how I should deal with this transition....I do not notice any differences really. Could it have changed since I stopped taking birth control? I have had issues with my weight and do not want to gain. I would like to actually tone up a little. Is it possible that it can go back and forth? Will I ever be hyperactive again?

got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...well after a year on that I was bleeding for 8 to 9 days (still bleeding even while taking the 'active' pills) also I started getting cramps and what not and my dr kept saying that should not be happening since you only have a withdrawal bleed...

hey guys which is a great one to get I want to get the one they put in your arm but I heard it has a lot of weight gain...

I am not sure that birth control will really help with endo pain. I know that it will slow down the growth of the endometriosis though. As far as pain relief, I have heard that ice or heat packs help along with anti-inflamitories. If those don't seem to help talk to your doctor again. They may be able to prescribe you something OR, I know where I am from they have physical therapy that can also help with Endo pain. Maybe you could look into something like that.
