4461995 tn?1357955108 s financial asistance program to update my status and make sure that the Tysabri AND the administration fee (probably your $350) are covered by Biogen. Please call them back and see if you qualify for this generous offer.
2015036 tn?1332997788 Some of you probably received the same email I did. Biogen sent me an email saying they could now help people get financing, even if you're on a Medicare plan. So far, only Biogen is working with Medicare patients. There's a lot of paperwork involved, but it look like I'm finally going to start a DMD again. All of Biogen's MS meds are available for the program: Avonex Plegridy Tysabri Tecfidera It's worth calling about.
572651 tn?1530999357 Tecfidera will not be made available in Europe until later this year, according to these headlines. Biogen is seeking to get patent protection for their drug before its commercial release. The details are in this story from Reuters. http://www.reuters.
2063887 tn?1337829746 I was scheduled to have my first Tysabri infusion tomorrow morning at 8:30. The infusion nurse called me Friday at 5:00 and told me we needed to reschedule because they needed one more thing from insurance. This is the same thing that happened with my first insurance approval and then it was denied. I'm worried the same thing is going to happen this time. They had me reschedule for May 30th. I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I guess time will tell.
Avatar f tn Talked with Tysabri caseworker this morning and gleamed some more info as follows; You call them or Tysabri in my case and tell them you are interested, they then send a referral notice to your doctor and in about 2 weeks someone calks you from undetermined #, I asked to be notified or gave them leave a msg as u don't answer for numbers I don't know, and they will discuss your insurance info then, etc.

Avatar m tn Definitely call Biogen, they are very nice and will walk you thru it. I used them when I started Tysabri and they paid for the first 3 months themselves until my insurance became effective. But I was approved for 2 yrs worth.
Avatar m tn CAN I STOP TAKING TYSABRI. IT IS GETTING TOO EXPENSIVE. I HAVE A $4,OOO OUT OF POCKET BEFORE MY INSURANCE WILL PAY 100%.
1831849 tn?1383228392 Also, I got a call from Biogen/Idec after I stopped Tysabri. They agreed that Tysabri was on the top of the strength chart.
333672 tn?1273792789 s office and it looks encouraging. I know Biogen had okayed me for 2 yrs of Tysabri free until my insurance came thru.......so I'm optimistic......because with my traveling all the time, stopping and starting infusion sites is a real juggling act; there is a lot of paperwork, interviews, dr participation, etc., and am learning some infusion sites insist you use their own doctors, and so on.....
1702168 tn?1307910841 So I went to another expert who agreed with the first doctor that treatment was called for and recommended Tysabri or Copaxone or Gilenia. I chose Tysabri because both doctors recommended it. I decided to stay with the second doctor because he was much more informative and helpful than the first although he works alone. The first doctors was a bit brusque. However , it has been almost 5 weeks since the paperwork for the Touch Program was started and i have heard nothing.
Avatar f tn I had forgotten that Plegridy even exists, so I looked it up for more info. Turns out it is made by Biogen Idec, who also make and market Avonex and Tysabri. It is a kind of interferon, and is administered via injection every two weeks. The doses are stepped up, with full levels reached after several weeks.

667078 tn?1316000935 There is a talk this Tuesday, sponsored by the mfg. of Tysabri, that I am going to. The topic is *Living with MS and Managing the Symptoms.* I hope to pick up some new tips for everyone. be well, be smarter!
572651 tn?1530999357 An overview of what Biogen Idec will be unveiling this week I have copied from this source: http://www.pharmiweb.com/pressreleases/pressrel.asp?ROW_ID=57399 "Key study results to be presented include: BG-12: Detailed results from CONFIRM (Comparator and an Oral Fumarate in RRMS), the second pivotal Phase 3 study evaluating the investigational oral compound in people with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), will be presented for the first time.
Avatar f tn Know others have worse problems, but I'd just love a vacation without Tysabri side effects. I diligently took my Prilosec for the 5 days, and wouldn't you know, on the 6th day, I was back in ER that night, hooked up to IV and fluids. They had to give me a bolus bag before they could draw blood for the labs, guess I was dehydrated. I love it when they make regular rounds with WARMED blankets!
Avatar f tn t want to switch programs until I know. I have just finished my first year on Tysabri and want to consider options for later but they won't give you prices until you have switched.......
1831849 tn?1383228392 As for the Tysabri cost, apply to Active Source (Biogen Idec) for their assistance program and they will cover the entire cost of the drug and also most of the infusion center costs. Between my insurance and Biogen, I am paying nothing for my Tysabri, if you don't count the cost of gas to drive 70 miles each way.
Avatar m tn call the companies, I found that many offer financial assistance. Biogen and Copaxone do for Tysabri and I think the new oral pill does. Don't know which medications you refer to or if they are MS meds, but do contact the companies. It's worth a try, my first 2 years of Tysabri were free if I needed them.
