1831849 tn?1383228392 Also, I got a call from Biogen/Idec after I stopped Tysabri. They agreed that Tysabri was on the top of the strength chart.
333672 tn?1273792789 And yes, Biogen Idec obviously had their ducks in a row. Considering they had hoped to have this approved last year and it was delayed until now - I imagine they had lots going on in the background.

572651 tn?1530999357 An overview of what Biogen Idec will be unveiling this week I have copied from this source: http://www.pharmiweb.com/pressreleases/pressrel.asp?ROW_ID=57399 "Key study results to be presented include: BG-12: Detailed results from CONFIRM (Comparator and an Oral Fumarate in RRMS), the second pivotal Phase 3 study evaluating the investigational oral compound in people with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), will be presented for the first time.
2015036 tn?1332997788 Some of you probably received the same email I did. Biogen sent me an email saying they could now help people get financing, even if you're on a Medicare plan. So far, only Biogen is working with Medicare patients. There's a lot of paperwork involved, but it look like I'm finally going to start a DMD again. All of Biogen's MS meds are available for the program: Avonex Plegridy Tysabri Tecfidera It's worth calling about.
Avatar m tn m unable to explain, I sadly have lost mine and am looking to find a replacement. Biogen Idec has not been any help, and I recently discovered the groups like MSWorld disallow postings along these lines. It's just a little bit of plastic, and it helps me quite a lot! Seems more than silly that it would be so difficult! Thanks for your help!!!

1831849 tn?1383228392 As for the Tysabri cost, apply to Active Source (Biogen Idec) for their assistance program and they will cover the entire cost of the drug and also most of the infusion center costs. Between my insurance and Biogen, I am paying nothing for my Tysabri, if you don't count the cost of gas to drive 70 miles each way.

1831849 tn?1383228392 I saw this today. Biogen-Idec has submitted BG-12 for FDA approval. They are requesting a 4 month, rather than 10 month, approval process. http://www.masshightech.com/stories/2012/02/27/daily10-Biogen-sends-oral-MS-drug-to-FDA.
Avatar f tn I had forgotten that Plegridy even exists, so I looked it up for more info. Turns out it is made by Biogen Idec, who also make and market Avonex and Tysabri. It is a kind of interferon, and is administered via injection every two weeks. The doses are stepped up, with full levels reached after several weeks.
572651 tn?1530999357 The Biogen Idec lunch talk I went to today was very interesting and quite a different approach than the usual tons of slides about Tysabri. It focused on what those numbers in clinical trials really mean. Of course it was directed at explaining why the Avonex number and Tysabri numbers are what they appear to be, but it really got me thinking.
572651 tn?1530999357 Tecfidera will not be made available in Europe until later this year, according to these headlines. Biogen is seeking to get patent protection for their drug before its commercial release. The details are in this story from Reuters. http://www.reuters.
2063887 tn?1337829746 I was scheduled to have my first Tysabri infusion tomorrow morning at 8:30. The infusion nurse called me Friday at 5:00 and told me we needed to reschedule because they needed one more thing from insurance. This is the same thing that happened with my first insurance approval and then it was denied. I'm worried the same thing is going to happen this time. They had me reschedule for May 30th. I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I guess time will tell.
Avatar f tn Talked with Tysabri caseworker this morning and gleamed some more info as follows; You call them or Tysabri in my case and tell them you are interested, they then send a referral notice to your doctor and in about 2 weeks someone calks you from undetermined #, I asked to be notified or gave them leave a msg as u don't answer for numbers I don't know, and they will discuss your insurance info then, etc.
923105 tn?1341827649 NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The Food and Drug Administration has updated the safety information related to multiple sclerosis treatment Tysabri, sold by Biogen Idec Inc. (BIIB) and Elan PLC (ELN), to include information about incidences of a rare brain infection. The drug's label hasn't changed, and the agency stressed that the overall rate of patients developing progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, or PML, remains below the one-in-1,000 rate implied on the label.
