794366 tn?1418009395 I binge eat when I get severely depressed, but lately that has not helped me, but still I cannot help myself. I have been to overeaters anonymous, therapists, counselors, nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any new coping skills?
1396756 tn?1283523477 Often binge eating is an emotional thing, we find confort in food. You hear people talk about their "comfort foods" these are things they eat when upset or sad. The Paxil IS helping you and this is why you no longer have to eat to feel better....good for you! One thing to help lose the weight is to eat every 3-4 hours, healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, handful of nuts, yogurt, chicken, vegetables, and exercise. Eating every few hours keeps your metabolism at it's peak.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the club! You sound like the female me. I know all about the auto pilot thing. Here's some hints. This works great if you live alone... having others around, you need to pay attention to their dietary needs. But really, just stock the fridge and cupboards/pantry with the healthiest food available. 1. Lean meats and cheese (buy in bulk, package in single serving sizes) 2. Water... drink a lot of water. Get used to carrying a water bottle and drink on per hour minimum.
Avatar n tn ve been struggling with medical therapies as well as binge eating disorder but I also shuffle to bed after anorexia. I'm 16 and I'm afraid this is just the beginning.
Avatar f tn I've always suffered from binge eating. 3 months ago I tried Meridia, and it was wonderful. I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
Avatar f tn I'm a 55 Y/O female who has been binge eating for about 20 years. I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn The way I see this is you have HSV2 and it's time to get your act together as far as the "binge drinking" is concerned .....there is a difference between "drunk" and totally "wrecked" .... there are many things can trigger recurrent outbreaks bad diet, lack of sleep, stress .... anything in excess has the possibility of setting it off again. Do your best to avoid rather than invite outbreaks by taking care of your general health, eat properly.
Avatar f tn Binge eating after dinner please help I always do really well then after dinner I blow it and I know ive gotta get rid of this problem to loose the weight I want.
Avatar n tn Yup, THAT sounds famililar. I'm 40 now; like your friend, since I was 21 (well, 18, really) I would binge drink. I *could* have only 1-2 drinks and stop, but if I had more than that I couldn't stop. Did stupid things, felt cruddy for days after. But it seemed "ok" meaning I still functioned well in school and then work, got good jobs and promotions, all that.
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.
Avatar f tn I have oesteosporosis and I binge eat. Binge eating has never been a problem in the past because I have always been very thin and never gained weight, until now. For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.
612101 tn?1220772860 I have suffered from binge eating since I was 20 yrs old. I am now 36. For the last 15 yrs I have been on many many anti depressants, diets, diet pills etc. I have had pretty much binge free the last 2 years while I was on Effexor and Wellbutrin. I came into money problems and had to taper off them. I had totally forgot about my eating disoder....well....I think I thought I grew out of it finally. Since I have been off my pills in the last few months I hve started binge eating again.
Avatar f tn i didnt pass out but I felt like absolute ****. I have been drinking a lot of water and tea and eating bread and fruits to try and replenish my body but my head still feels fuzzy and I feel a little out of it. I also don't drink all the time so I'm wondering if it's possible for me to have brain damage? or when this hangover will end?
Avatar n tn What kind of physical consequences are there to binge eating. I had this for years, overeating really fast and way too much. In the recent past I got on a medication and stopped. But now I have bad acid reflux, what feels like a tear in my intestines and an ulcer in my stomach and a gallbladder that is going downhill. I never knew what it meant to be full because I would alot of times eat past that.
877379 tn?1259664623 I had days when I didnt binge as much but that is when I would try to restrict. I would try to eat as little as possible and that is just as unhealthy as binging. I dont know if my therapist does cognitive therapy, but I could ask her. Yeah I have a tendency to beat myself up even over little things. Well one of the coworkers who I mainly work with knows I have problems but she is always wanting to lose weight and she eat a lot (but she really is not binging.
Avatar f tn Is anyone familiar with binge eating disorder? I have been struggling with what I believe is binge eating disorder. It has gotten out of control and I am at a loss as to how to stop it. Avatar f tn I wake up this morning and quite possibly was still drunk and felt okay ish. Fast forward an hour and that is when the anxiety started my heart was pounding I felt like I couldn't breathe I was shaking my legs felt like jelly and I had pins and needles in my arms. I am assuming this was a panic attack, my first ever one I wanted to know if the main reason for this attack was purely down to the alcohol?
Avatar n tn sounds like 'binge' drinking and the easiest way to reign it in if your going to insist on drinking anyways is to EAT while drinking. Have 2/3 drinks then either drink ONE big glass of water or eat a little somethig, meat, bread doesnt matter, just food of some kind. If you continue this way from the moment you begin drinking until you go to bed that night it will GREATLY reduce the chances of blacking out atleast entirely and you wont feel quite as bad the next day.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any good tips on how to stop binge eating? I often find myself hiding snacks around the house and when I eat, I eat everything I possibly can and I feel sick afterwards. Thanks a bunch!
8793709 tn?1409594060 every day I give in to some kind of unhealthy eating binge. my problem is that when I open a pack of biscuits, chocolates or anything the like, I can't stop until I've finished eating the entire pack ... that can be anything between 500 - 1000 calories. after that I feel so guilty. and yet it happens all the time. You ladies experienced the same? what do you do in such situations?
Avatar f tn Give me a 12 pack and a bottle of whiskey and put it in my house and come back in a month and there will still be some there because I drink moderately when at home but I feel the urge to binge drink when at a party where binge drinking is occurring! I admit I have a problem. I binge drink at social events and become intoxicated and am prone to making bad decisions amongst other people who are doing the same thing.
Avatar f tn Since I was seven years old I have been binge eating, then around the age of 15/16 I became anorexic. After pressure to eat from the doctors and my family, I began to switch towards the more bulimic side of things. First of all I was just purging meals but then I began to binge. Since then I've gone through periods of anorexia then bulimia both accompanied with excessive exercise.
Avatar f tn I'm a 56 y/o female who has had a problem with binge eating since I was about 30. I can gain 20 lbs in a month no problem. Sometimes I can't stop eating, and when I'm too full to eat anymore, I can't wait to digest so I can eat more. I've been to psychiatrist's that specialize in eating disorders, OA, read every book I could find, went to counseling for years and years, and have been on every diet there is.
4287262 tn?1358999012 I feel like the last week All i want to do is eat. I can never get enough food. My question is, When did you start Feeling like Binge eating, and did it cause you to gain alot of weight. I have only gained 2 lbs so far, and I am very skinny, so I could care less about gaining weight if its for my baby. Just want to make sure this is normal for right now, or if its because I am lacking certain nutrients. thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn I also recommend watching the binge eating disorder video on YouTube from the channel breelovesbeauty .... I suffered from bed and these things helped me a lot.

Avatar f tn I'm just a writer, but when I was researching, I found it to be quite a redflag when there are family ties. I'm not sure if alcoholism is a doninant or recessive gene, or even if it is that simple. Probably not. But it does sound like something you need to tread very carefully. Drinking to get drunk no matter how often is another red flag.
