1641906 tn?1301131090 Since 5th grade I've been bulimic, anorexic, and a huge binge eater, among other things. I tried to commit suicide in 5th partly because I was overweight (I honestly was). In 6th I was just a binge eater and gained weight, self mutilitating more than I did before. 6th summer I began to restrict again and exercised. I lost weight- but of course not enough. 7th I exercised and binged because I was happy with my weight so I felt like eating was ok....plus it numbed my feelings.

Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.

Avatar f tn It is not uncommon to be depressed, not eat for periods of time and then go for binge eating. However, the feeling of wanting death points towards a higher level of depression. You need to consult a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders. Also depression would need to be treated side by side. Please consult your parents, maybe your school or college therapist and some else whom you can trust and who can talk to your parents. Please try and see a therapist as soon as possible.

Avatar f tn Yes, that meant some weight gain as I started eating enough, and I did binge at the beginning. I have that craving now less and less, as I've come to understand how much I need to eat (it's a lot more than I expected!). I also used to get a feeling of excitement when I ate something "bad" (usually in hiding), and without any off-limit foods, that is diminished.
