6811971 tn?1385557755 I have recovered from both Anorexia and Bulimia and like yourself I struggle with bloating, and find myself often mistaking the bloating as weight gain. Wow! We are two positive people for this site. Yes everybody. YOU CAN RECOVER FROM AN EATING DISORDER. I had Anorexia aged 16-18, and Bulimia age 18-32. I am now 38 and the idea of being sick is yuck! The thought of overdosing on laxatives is something I wouldn't dream off now.

Avatar f tn I'm a 55 Y/O female who has been binge eating for about 20 years. I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I've always suffered from binge eating. 3 months ago I tried Meridia, and it was wonderful. I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
1396756 tn?1283523477 Often binge eating is an emotional thing, we find confort in food. You hear people talk about their "comfort foods" these are things they eat when upset or sad. The Paxil IS helping you and this is why you no longer have to eat to feel better....good for you! One thing to help lose the weight is to eat every 3-4 hours, healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, handful of nuts, yogurt, chicken, vegetables, and exercise. Eating every few hours keeps your metabolism at it's peak.
Avatar f tn Try taking a 15 minute brisk walk before eating, then again about 30 minutes after eating. 5. Journal everything! What food you bought, what you drank, ate, did for exercise. By doing this, maybe you can see when youre most likely to binge eat. I'm telling you, it isn't easy... but it is doable. Track everything, journal it. If you have to have a snack, eat the healthiest, low carb thing available.

Avatar m tn Hi about three or so years ago I went through a long period of anorexia nervosa, I was checking labels, eating barely any fat foods, always feeling terrible if i aint something unhealthy, and on top of that running 10 miles and working out every day because I thought i was fat. Once then period ended, I immediately began to binge eat at every meal, and would get incredibly bloated and distended (pregnant).

Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.

1223598 tn?1289968459 I have had dual diagnosis of Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge eating, and over exercising which goes in atrocious circles since i was 13 and I am now 21 years old. The problem: every time i attempt to recover and introduce food into my system, I can usually eat small stabled meals for a few weeks until I become horribly sick.
Avatar f tn My vision appears to be variable but it could be explained by living in what is essentially a building site. I have been feeling stressed and I have been binge eating. Emotionally I have been OK. Kind of. There have been events which have triggered me. (Family, finances, lack of support/ therapy, the doctor I saw in my GP's absence (I was told that my projections make him anxious and that he feels frustrated by his inability to help me.

8793709 tn?1409594060 every day I give in to some kind of unhealthy eating binge. my problem is that when I open a pack of biscuits, chocolates or anything the like, I can't stop until I've finished eating the entire pack ... that can be anything between 500 - 1000 calories. after that I feel so guilty. and yet it happens all the time. Avatar n tn What kind of physical consequences are there to binge eating. I had this for years, overeating really fast and way too much. In the recent past I got on a medication and stopped. But now I have bad acid reflux, what feels like a tear in my intestines and an ulcer in my stomach and a gallbladder that is going downhill. I never knew what it meant to be full because I would alot of times eat past that.

Avatar f tn I have had normal liver enzyme test and a normal ultrasound and ct scan, but I still have extreme bloating. This has been going on for months now. I worry because I binge drank on a nightly basis for about an 8 year span, 3-5(sometimes more) glasses of wine and such. Should I be worried that I have liver damage that is just not showing up? I have changed my diet significantly ( no dairy or gluten) but I am still very bloated. I am sick with worry that I have caused permanent damage.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any good tips on how to stop binge eating? I often find myself hiding snacks around the house and when I eat, I eat everything I possibly can and I feel sick afterwards. Thanks a bunch!
Avatar f tn shtml Age of Onset Based on diagnostic interview data from the National Comorbidity Survey Replication (NCS-R), median age of onset was 21 years-old for binge eating disorder and 18 years-old for both bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa. If that link shows up, it has several charts showing how prevalent different eating disorders are in adults (different age groups) and adolescents.

I've been to psychiatrist's that specialize in eating disorders, OA, read every book I could find, went to counseling for years and years, and have been on every diet there is.

My question is, When did you start Feeling like Binge eating, and did it cause you to gain alot of weight. I have only gained 2 lbs so far, and I am very skinny, so I could care less about gaining weight if its for my baby.
