Avatar f tn i didnt pass out but I felt like absolute ****. I have been drinking a lot of water and tea and eating bread and fruits to try and replenish my body but my head still feels fuzzy and I feel a little out of it. I also don't drink all the time so I'm wondering if it's possible for me to have brain damage? or when this hangover will end?
Avatar f tn First off, You are in a sense pickleing your Liver, My father used to do the same thing, he would go on a drinking binge, and not eat, what happens is your liver being like a filter for your body, gets saturated with alcohol, and it will eventually break down and you will end up with Cirrosis, it is also going to create issues with your kidneys.
Avatar m tn i would like to quit drinking alcohol.I become irresponsible and spend money unnecesariliy.I have crushed my two cars in a space of two and half years while under the influence of alcohol. At times i engage in physical fights while under the influence of alcohol and caused grievous bodily harm.I fear the worst and would to stop now.I have tried in the past but i still drink when with friends.I spend on average R2500 a weekend on alohol as i tend to buy alcohol for those i will be with.
Avatar f tn However, If you are potentially an alcoholic, and resume drinking, you will quickly find that things are just as bad as before. Are you an alcoholic? Only you can decide, but for the most part, non alcoholics don't feel a need to control their drinking. Getting sober also means making other changes, the places you go, people you hang out with, even things like the kind of music you listen to. The mind associates many things with alcohol, which can be triggers.
Avatar f tn The way I see this is you have HSV2 and it's time to get your act together as far as the "binge drinking" is concerned .....there is a difference between "drunk" and totally "wrecked" .... there are many things can trigger recurrent outbreaks bad diet, lack of sleep, stress .... anything in excess has the possibility of setting it off again. Do your best to avoid rather than invite outbreaks by taking care of your general health, eat properly.
Avatar m tn Dizzy, light headed, some pressure behind eyes and a little unstable now for 12 days after binge drinking. I have dealt with bouts of depression and anxiety in the past and i have hypothyroidism....Any thoughs?...
Avatar m tn I've been a binge drinker for 25years. Had a good echo 9/9/2010. I've continued binge drinking. I feel fine and my blood pressure and pulse are good. Is the probability very high that I've developed cardiomyopathy. This discussion is related to High Blood Pressure and Cardiomyopathy.
Avatar m tn   I had an ultrasound done in May 2017 which showed a fatty liver, so I stopped drinking at the end of July and started eating right and exercising.   I got a fibroscan done on the 26th of October 2017 by a Hepatologist and the reading was 3.9 Kpa and he said no damage, but Within the last  2 months I have had a couple of major traumas, which has sent me on a  8 week binge of 10-12 lagers a day (very irresponsible I know). Could this have caused me to develop cirrhosis in this time?
Avatar f tn Hi Matt, Geez! Call me crazy , cause I might have missed something Are you saying you are a health conscience young man, who fears heart decease ,cancer, second hand smoke and lives a healthy lifestyle to avoid serious illness????......."Other than occasional HEAVY drinking?? Well that is the craziest thing I have ever heard coming from a non-alcoholic! I mean I am used to drunks being delusional , but if you do not thing you are one, then you also have pretty delusional thinking.
Avatar f tn When I drink even a moderate amount I do not binge and purge. Also, I always get the urge to binge and purge during the evening. I am thinking of going to a professional but I really want to do this by myself, I was wondering if this could be due to a chemical imbalance?? I have always had problems with depression as a child and was anorexic for sometime as an adolescent until I discovered bulimia.
Avatar f tn I'm a 55 Y/O female who has been binge eating for about 20 years. I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Is anyone out there a binge eater that would like to get into contact to help recovery? I've had eating disorders for the past 10 years...anorexia, bulimia, recovered on my own for a bit, but now after starting a career and having more stress in my life, I'm not normal anymore. I binge. I went on topamax for a bit and this helped but didn't like the weird side effects and I know I can't rely on drugs my whole life. I'm 26 and just want to be normal with food.
1396756 tn?1283523477 Often binge eating is an emotional thing, we find confort in food. You hear people talk about their "comfort foods" these are things they eat when upset or sad. The Paxil IS helping you and this is why you no longer have to eat to feel better....good for you! One thing to help lose the weight is to eat every 3-4 hours, healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, handful of nuts, yogurt, chicken, vegetables, and exercise. Eating every few hours keeps your metabolism at it's peak.
Avatar f tn I've always suffered from binge eating. 3 months ago I tried Meridia, and it was wonderful. I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
794366 tn?1418009395 Now, it is not a miracle, but it simply lets the voice of no, come out and then allows you to actually listen to it and reason with yourself a little more. Again, sometimes you will still fall prey to the eating voice and go off track, but in my expereince, you have less of that and more successful days. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Binge eating after dinner please help I always do really well then after dinner I blow it and I know ive gotta get rid of this problem to loose the weight I want.
Avatar m tn Seems you have more empirical experience than most (all?) of us participating on this forum. I take your testimony to be a clear indictment of binge drinking - suggest you stop. As to can it cause long term problems? Yes, including alcoholism, I believe. Given most heavy (binge?) drinkers don't suffer from the same heart irregularity suggests to me your heart is more sensitive than "average", and you should stop the binge drinking.

Avatar m tn Prior to my trip to Europe this summer, I had been binge drinking evey weekend for 2 years, and I wasn't drinking water in between drinks. I wasn't drinking the daily recommended amount of water throughout the day either. This summer in Europe, I had happened to binge drink the first 2 nights with red bull/vodka, both major diuretics. I hadn't drank any water in between drinks and ended up dehydrating myself majorly. I was very delusional and depressed.

I went to the doctor about day 2 and he couldn't do anything. I'm taking acidex to like my stomach, drinking juice and eating like I usually would. But then I feel sick. Someone help please.
Avatar f tn I have oesteosporosis and I binge eat. Binge eating has never been a problem in the past because I have always been very thin and never gained weight, until now. For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.
1310633 tn?1430224091 Although binge drinking is more of a problem among men and boys, binge drinking is an important and under-recognized women's health issue," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, CDC director. Of the estimated 23,000 annual deaths attributed to excessive alcohol use among women and girls, binge drinking was responsible for more than half of those deaths, said Frieden. Binge drinking is the most common and most dangerous pattern of excess drinking, he said.
Avatar f tn i went to London yesterday for a day event and had a hotel booked for the evening with my boyfriend we started drinking at around about 12 in the afternoon and had food etc we then went to our hotel around 5ish (so that was 5 hours of drinking alcohol before the evening had started) and then carried on drinking and went out for dinner and .. more drinks, so I was very drunk by the time we were in a cab to go home. I wake up this morning and quite possibly was still drunk and felt okay ish.
Avatar f tn I have been struggling with what I believe is binge eating disorder. It has gotten out of control and I am at a loss as to how to stop it. I have gained a horrible amount of weight and am miserable. I just want to regain control and able to cope in a healthy way...
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.
Avatar f tn I have never had anorexia but a good friend of mine did and she went through the same problem of becoming a binge eater after recovering from anorexia. One thing I want you to remember is that both anorexia and binge eating are eating disorders. One is not better then the other and both can take a toll on your health. Your weight seems to actually be pretty healthy for your height but if you are unhappy because your weight gain is not through healthy ways, I can understand your concern.
