lumigan

Avatar m tn one of the instructions for using Lumigan or Latisse states not to use on the lower eyelid but it doesn't explain why?
Avatar n tn I use Clinique skin care products, almost exclusively for almost 30 years, except for SkinMedica eye cream, but I was having issues before I started with that brand. I do use oil-based makeup remover because I wear waterproof mascara - but again, I've been using the same makeup remover for about 12 years........ and I only wear makeup 3-4 times a week (whose got time for that with kids and work and Scouts and sports and music and "me time"?!
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?

Avatar m tn usually means male-pattern baldness, or permanent-pattern baldness. Male-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait. Men who start losing their hair at an early age tend to develop more extensive baldness. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hair line and baldness on the top of the head. Some medicines can cause hair loss.
Avatar m tn Reports also points out to unhealthy eating habits as one of the cause of early baldness. To properly treat baldness, it is important to know its cause so that proper treatment be started. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn •Family history of male or female pattern baldness Hair loss can occur in women for reasons other than female pattern baldness, including the following: •Hormonal abnormalities, such as too much testosterone, or too much or too little thyroid hormone •Iron deficiency •Medications such as chemotherapy and beta blockers •Vitamin deficiency (such as biotin) http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001173.
Avatar m tn Thyroid hair loss would be all over - as in thinning throughout the hair for general thinning, while pattern baldness would be thinning in certain spots. At least, that is what happened to me.

Avatar m tn Hello, I am a 20 year old male and have been taking accutane (claravis) for about 5 months now. I am taking two 40mg pills twice a day... I have experienced a few annoying side effects but one of the major ones i have noticed is hair loss. I had very thick hair pre-accutane and i noticed hair-thnning lately and my hairline as also been receding. This is driving me crazy. Will this be a permanent side-effect or temporary and will my hair come back to its original hair-line.
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to alopecia aertea but in males androgenic alopecia or male pattern baldness is an important cause to be ruled out for baldness in the middle of the head. It is mainly genetic but sometimes hormonal imbalance like overproduction of dihydrotestosterone and thyroid hormones irregularities also play an important role. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn With No pattern baldness, also my hair is dry. I am 65 years old. There is No type of baldness in my family or on my mother's or father's side. I can see broken and small hairs where it looks thin. Will it grow back after I stop taking oxycodone, and how long will I notice some results? Thank You.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the pattern of baldness like it being hereditary, it sounds like male pattern baldness. Androgenic alopecia is a common form of hair loss and typically occurs in M shaped pattern. Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait. Other causes may be use of some drugs, infections and underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. A biopsy (taking a small sample of cells to examine under a microscope) of your scalp may be needed to establish the correct diagnosis.
Avatar n tn t had a good answer yet. Does masterbation lead to pattern baldness. I read on a couple of websites that it does and some say it don't. I also read in my biology book that sex causes it. I use to masterbate everyday from 7th-9th(which im in now). I have slowed down tho to about once a way to sometimes once a month. I have noticed my hair thinning and it looks like my hairline is receding. Will just stopping masterbation make things go back to normal.
Avatar n tn i started to notice that i had a spot were i cut my self on the back of my head and every time i shave it got much bigger is thier any treatment for this some people tell that i comes from alot of stress and your hair cells stop growin am 26 yrs and it does run in my family boldness?
Avatar n tn Basically at the beginning he told me the vellus hairs were a sign of male pattern balding but after i explained my stress problems he said he could not be sure whether or not I had male pattern baldness for sure. Oh he also used the camera to to look at the corners of my hairline and could not find any vellus hairs there. Basically, am I suffering from early stages of MPB or could my stress and dermatitis be causing the small amount of vellus hairs?
Avatar n tn My hair seems to be diffusely thinning all over, but the hair on the top is all equally thin, no area on top appears thinner than the others. Can total baldness progress this way or does it always follow the pattern of recession that begins at the temples and crown and eventually meet in the center? Thanks!
Avatar n tn There are also topical products, usually for Africans, that have been used for this problem. But this will, again, all depend on why you're losing hair. If it's genetic and you're going to go bald, you're going to go bald.
Avatar m tn Was your hair loss 20 years ago and the reason for transplant due to hair loss associated with thyroid dysfunction or male pattern baldness? If the latter, and if your thyroid medication is adequate, what you are currently experiencing may be due to male pattern baldness. Have you asked your doctor about this?
Avatar n tn For those just about to start chemotherapy including Taxotere you might be interested to read about the growing problem of Taxotere causing permanent hairloss. It is causing such a big problem that in North West France they have started a survey to find out how big a problem it is. Oncologists are still not informing their patients that it is a possible side effect running at 6% at the moment but probly alot higher than this. You can read all about it here http://www.abstracts2view.
Avatar n tn My father still has all his hairs and no one in the family is bald. So is there a way to stop this baldness or regain hair? Please advise.
