lumigan

Avatar m tn L noticed theres a drop called Duotrav which contains timolol and brinzolamide, so l guess it sort of a combination of azarga and travatan . This is a once a day drop, l was wondering if l were to stop taking the azarga and travatan and instead take DUotrav once a day if it would be as effective but with less side effects.
Avatar n tn OK, help. I'm 45, doc verified post-menopausal (yes, very very early) and the last couple of years I have significant darkening of my sclera (whites of my eyes). I have had hypothyroidism since I was about 20 and I take levothyroxine. I had my doc run a full blood / urine panel to ensure it wasn't thyroid/kidney/liver related (nope). I went to my Opthomologist and he said he agreed they were dark but could see nothing medically wrong with my eyes.
Avatar m tn There is two different brands that say they have the same effect as Latisse but they cost much less than Latisse. They are Lumigan, and Bimatoprost. My question is do they actually have the same effect like Latisse? what is the diffrence??
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?
Avatar f tn cosopt has timolol in it so you shouldn't be taking timolol and cosopt. Roklatan works different than cosopt so they are used in combination but again NOT with timolol.
Avatar f tn He prescibed artificial tears as well as Timolol. A month down the line and no change at all. Please can you tell me a bit more about Timolol, as it does seem to have a lot of serious heart related side effects, and what more can I do to rectify this problem? What should have been a routine simple procedure has caused a great deal of discomfort and anxiety. Thank you for your help.
Avatar m tn That study is from 2009 and is flawed, not controlling for the fact that patients on beta blockers are in the older age groups where cataracts are more common. In any case in 2021, beta blockers have many potential side effects but cataracts is not one of them.
Avatar f tn CMC is carboxy methyl cellulose...which i had used along with FML...And Sir I am not using Timolol r8 now....My docyor stopped it on the 3rd day as the pressure reduced to 15,23 from 30,30 in the first 2 days when timolol.was used...Till then I have nevr used Timolol.,..
Avatar f tn He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open. ( looks like a lazy eye) never had it before. He says my inplants look great. yesterday i saw him my right eye had raised pressure to 26.5 he took me off the steroid drops left me on the timolol -glaucoma drops.
Avatar m tn There is no way that any ophthalmologist, including your own, can tell how you will react to a change in medicine. The primary reason to use timolol at evening meal time or very early evening is primarily because it doesn't work well once you are in bed and horizontal. Also oral timolol is used to treat a variety of heart problems including high blood pressure. A very long time ago doctors used to tell patients to take some of their blood pressure meds at bedtime.
212161 tn?1599427282 You might want to ask your doctor if it might be possible to substitute a selective beta-blocker, for example Toprol® (metoprolol) for the Timolol®. Non-selective blockers, such as Timolol®, can worsen asthma, even asthma that has not been clinically evident in the past. Your doctor has prescribed good medicine for your asthma. The course of asthma is very unpredictable, so it is not possible to predict whether it will resolve or will become chronically, clinically significant.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes and prescribed eye drops to take 3x daily for the rest of my life. These eye drops are 1) Latanoprost and 2) Dorzolamide/timolol. A few weeks after taking these eye drops I notice a large rise in blood pressure (top and bottom numbers)..with my bottom number around 100. Can this be caused by the eye drop medicine?
Avatar f tn I too have had high eye pressure from some 12 years ago when I was 40 years old... and have had laser surgery and been on timolol etc etc etc ... and I truly sympathise with your partner. Having glaucoma at such a young age is very unusual ... its an old persons's disease or there may be a history in the family. I personally believe it was a "septic" front tooth that triggerred my condition! ... After having it removed the eye pressures subsided! ...
Avatar f tn There should be significant visual recovery after a week and by one month it should be pretty well healed. My doctors do not like to use latanoprost after cataract surgery because it may increase the incidence of CME (macular edema). Dr. O.
Avatar f tn Two days ago I was taking my bath and the bathroom got a bit steamy and I felt like the oxygen has dropped and was finding it quite difficult to breath. As I was finishing up I felt very weak and couldn't move my arms at the same speed and my vision started to fade and I could see small squares wherever I looked and my right eye was going on and off. I have glaucoma and from my last check-up which was the 5 days before this happened my pressure was within range.
Avatar m tn my pressures were under control with Timolol GFS up until the last 6 months- now they are slightly elevated 25-29 so they changed to Dorzolamide HCI Timolol Maleate- since the change my sugar has bottomed twice under 70 my BP has been near 150-85 and my eyes are dry and burning all the time so bad I get sick from headaches- well actually I quit taking the new drops 3 days ago and everything seems to be good every time I check now and no headaches - both drops say Timolol whats the differe
Avatar n tn I have just researched the Tobramycin and Timolol and find that they are not to be taken in combination if high pressure or glaucoma is possible. The pharmacist questioned the scripts and asked me if I have glaucoma and I told him I do not. I now am wondering if the CT scan is necessary or a waste of time. The Dr. is supposedly a well known medical professional with Atlanta Ophtalmology Associates.
Avatar m tn Hi l am 47 and recently diagnosed with early stage cataracts and told l will need surgery eventually, l dont really have any of the risk factors except l have early stage glacoma and take eye drops for last ten years. My vision is still pity good and l have'nt noticed any symptoms except a bit of glare at night. l read theres three types of cataracts, l.m not sure what type it is but l think its POSTERIOR SUBCAPSULAR CATARACTs because that affects younger people.
17644146 tn?1458782868 I wonder if anyone else is using Dorzolamide Timolol (Actavis) 2 x a day for their glaucoma? If so, have you noticed the 10ml bottle never seems to last 45 days?
Avatar m tn Dear Sir, please tell me can putting Iotim 0.5% w/v (Timolol Maleate eye drops 0.5% w/v) cause Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD) in some people? Thank You Very Much in advance.
Avatar m tn I am scheduled to have the other eye done next month and after researching it appears the Timolol could be used instead and I would not have to be worried about eye color. I do not have asthma etc and in fact sometimes I have to take oral beta blocker for an occasional heart problem so I have no issues with beta blockers.
Avatar f tn In your own opinion, is this still necessary whenever I feel a discomfort in my eye, like a little pain after some readings that I usually do? I take Timolol drops 2x a day, and Acetazolamide 1 tablet daily, my last dose today. Intraocular pressure has reached normal already.
431358 tn?1204042737 Timolol is a beta blocker. It will slow your heart rate down, both resting and during exercise. I am on Atenolol for rapid heart rate. It is also a beta blocker. I take 25 mg daily. I am still able to reach a fairly high heart rate (up to 85-90% target heart rate) during exercise. Is your blood pressure underneath control? Do you have any other arrythmia problems? Why did they put you on a beta blocker as opposed to ACE inhibitor or something? Barbarella is right.
Avatar f tn I would appreciate if you can tell me more about Timolol because I have glaucoma and that is the treatment that I am on a few months gone I had to go to the emergency because it turned up that I had an infection in the eyes and I had a difficult time keeping them open I was given some other eye drope to take for a month which did cleared it up but I want to know what cause the infection and am I taking a good eye medication .
Avatar m tn My eye pressure was normal too. I also had a MRI done of the brain and sinuses, and all that was found was a small retention cyst on the Maxillary sinus. I had 16 blood tests done also, and they came back fine. So two and half months ago, I went to see a neurologist, and he thought it to be some form of migraine (can a migraine start in your eye?)He prescribed Verap, but my headaches just got worse on this. I also tried Imigran, but that didn't work either.
