Mycoplasma Infection is a nasty bacterial infection that can cause headaches, joint pain, fevers, dry couch, shortness of breath and a general feeling of the flu. If these symptoms don't resolve on there own then you need antibiotics like (Doxycycline, Cipro, Azithromycin or biaxin).
helloo...hmm lets see, i seem to get yeast infections very easily, one time was the worst when i took antibiotics to get rid of fever, after the fever, but not short after being on the antibiotics i got a really bad yeast infection! i went to see my ob/gyn for constant uti's after sex etc, so she put me on the generic brand for Bactrim DS (Sulfameth/Trimethoprim) but im scared to go on it, because i know its an antibiotic, and i do NOT want another yeast infection!
Hi Thanks for writing to the forum! Your symptoms could be due to uti, or urinary tract infection. The infection could be at any level from bladder to ureter to kidney. It could also be due to a stone in the urinary tract. What you need is a urine culture and sensitivity test done. You can also give it for culture and sensitivity in a sterile bottle provided by the lab. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently.
Just today, however, I started feeling some urgency to urinate and some discomfort (like a urinary tract infection). I do not have any pain or burning when I actually urinate. Is there any chance that I contacted some type of STD from this encounter at the strip club? Also, is my wife at risk for anything (she has not exhibited any symptoms so far)?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr @ your doctors! Shame on them - sounds like they only want to work alone- and no one wants to be responsible!
But there is lots of evidence indicating that they can also cause problems. They are also not ALWAYS found in the urinary tract, although they are in fact common (40-60% by most accounts have Ureaplasma urealyticum). But don't fool yourself there either, HSV-1 is about 60% prevalent and that's definitely a virus you'd rather avoid. However, it is true that many people have Ureaplasma urealyticum and have no symptoms or negative health consequences.
Bring it up to to your doctor. You definitely some kind of urinary tract infection though. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic. It fights bacteria in your body. Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Richard, Your right testicular pain may be related to a possible infection of the epididymtis and/or testicle associated with a urinary tract infection due to a coliform bacteria which I assume was identified on a urine culture. Epididymitis and epididymal-orchitis are treated with antibiotics for approximately 2 weeks.
Proteus is also a common cause of urinary tract infections. Women suffer urinary tract infections as well as rheumatoid arthritis twice as often as men, while men usually have higher levels of klebsiella and three times more ankylosing spondylitis than women. In addition microbial overgrowth dam ages the intestinal wall so that only partly digested food particles can pass into the bloodstream, causing allergies. In this way all auto-immune diseases can be linked to food allergies.
Three days after starting biaxin uninary issues started again!!! I started diflucan immediately and stopped biaxin but now,on day 5, still no relief of urinary issues, though no itching yet. I am going going crazy here!! Have any of you had such experiences? I called my LLMD and he says "its just the Lyme" though it seems strange that the urinary urgency came just 2 days before a TERRIBLE yeast infection. It resolved when treated with Diflucan, gone for a week and then back.

The consensus is now that I can only treat the pain and there is nor helping reverse the condition. Also, I have taken cipro on and off for the past 20 years for urinary tract infections. Is there any thing else besides pain medicine to help me? I am a 59 year old educator who does not want to keep using the high pain medication through patches (Fentaynl Transdermal 100mcg/h over 72 hours).
4 months ago I started having a burning sensation in my urethra after I would urinate and also having discharges. I sought treatment and was given a shot + pills for chlamydia and gonorhea. I gave a urinanalysis sample too. 2 weeks later, the discharge had stopped, but I still had the occasional cloudy urine plus the burning urethra. I went back to the clinic and was treated for the same symptoms with the same pills + shot again.
What type of antibiotics were you on? There are some that do cause anxiety. I was on biaxin and amoxicillin this summer and developed an anxiety problem from them.
The rate of bacteremia following urinary tract procedures is high in the presence of urinary tract infection (uti). Sterilization of the urinary tract with antimicrobial therapy in patients with bacteriuria should be attempted prior to elective procedures, including lithotripsy. Results of a preprocedure urine culture will allow the practitioner to choose antibiotics appropriate to the recovered organisms.
