I've had tinnitus now for 6 months. It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses.

I have the same problem with my ear. Ringing and an ear infection. Here's what i'm doing now so. I hope this helps you. Took Clarithromycin (Biaxin) for 7 days: This is a strong antibiotic so read up on all side effects. I can tell you one of the side effects is nightmares so don't take this med when going to sleep. And it's alway good to take some probiotics when taking antibiotic.

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

There was no mucous, blood or any other type of fluid coming out of my nose.I was prescribed BIAXIN for a week. I also developed tinnitus within the first week. I could feel minor pressure on my ears starting to develop before the ringing started. I went back 7 days later not feeling any better and he then put me on Z-PACK for 10 days. 10 days later I went back for a third time still not feeling better and he prescribed BACTRIN for 30 days.

Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

- HIV at 7 weeks, 15 weeks and 9 months - STD test for Clymidia and gonnerea at about 8 months after (this was a urine test) I was concerned cause I peed about 1 hour before testing Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.

On Wednesday, my doc said to stop the Levaquin (I had about 1/2 hr of pain in my left achilles heel) and start Biaxin and Plaquenil. He also said to take the Tindamax 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off. I was happy to do that. I hate the bitter, metallic taste in my mouth from it. Then, he realized my yeast wasn't clearing up after 4 weeks on Nystatin, so he said hold the Biaxin while I take 10 days of Diflucan. So last night, I took my first doses of Diflucan and Plaquenil.

I was prescribed antibiotics (allergic to penicillin, so I was given erythromyacin) the eyrthromyacin failed to work after about 10 days, so I was given biaxin, which failed at which time my eardrum ruptured and I was given cipro, and I had to discontinue do to adverse effects. The ear was still plugged and causing severe sharp pain. After 54 days the pain subsided. 1 month later, its back.

May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

I started taking Biaxin 2 days ago for a horrible throat infection. Since then my muscles have been weak and crampy (especially my calves with restless leg syndrome as well). I also am having horrible stomach cramps and nausea and I get an overwhelming metallic taste in my mouth (almost like bile actually). And the insomnia last night was unbearable. I haven't had insomnia in over a year. Has anyone else experienced this with Biaxin?

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. Would this have cured anyt sti? Sorry for long question doc just want everything answered at once.

I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! Nausea, headache, depression, crying outbursts, metallic taste, and wanting to sleep all day are the main ones. I have never felt depressed like this in my life. A feeling of sadness has taken over my body the past 5 days and it is miserable. Can somebody tell me why?? I stopped taking it today because I have had enough, I want my life back.

I am 3 months pregnant and am prone to sinus infections and it seems the only antibiotic that works for me is biaxin. I have a sinus infection now, is it safe to take biaxin 2 pills together for ten days?

I was on Biaxin alone for 3mos and felt semi normal which for me is great. LLMD added Doxy and it has made all my symptoms come back worse than before. I want to quit the doxy but im told to just ride it out. I am wondering what exactly Doxy helps with? I kno biaxin helps with Bartonella for example. But what does Doxy do exactly for someone with late stage chronic lyme?

There are many medications that are ototoxic to our ears causing hearing loss and tinnitus, some have permanent effects while others have side effects only while taking the medication. On your particular list, Asprin stands out the most. Asprin does cause hearing los & tinnitus as do most of the NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). As far as the your other medications, I would consult your physician to learn more about the side effects of those particular medications.

Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less.

Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? How long should I wait to engage in intercourse with my significant other?
