his fever went up to 103.3 last night. the dr diagnosed him with an ear infection, a sinus infection, and pneumonia. Poor little guy!!!!!!!!!

I have a bunch of symptoms that im afraid may indicate something serious. blotchy rash on my neck, chest palms and groin; loss of sensation and discoloration of my penis; cold sweats; constipation and difficulty urinating w no pain involved. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for sometime now but just started taking biaxin yesterday. Not much improvement..could I have some kidney or liver issues due to years of cocaine abuse?

I have two failed implants due to infection which did not respond to Clindamycin. I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. In spite of the fact that I drank at least 10ounces of water with each pill. My question is since I'm allergic to penicillin. What antibiotic is effective for teeth and gum infections???? Thank you.

I've had a sore throat off and on (mostly on) for about 3 weeks now. I went to the doctor last Friday and was prescribed Biaxin 500mg twice per day. I've been doing this for 5 days now and there's been no improvement. The pain seems to move around my throat and neck area but its always intense. Yesterday it was below the larynx and today it`s mostly below my ear on the left side. Last Saturday was the last day that I had little or no pain.

For the last eight months I have been going through a lot of life changes. I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

just one last point, the biaxin and amoxicilian were taken at different times around 2-3 months apart. Biaxin was for a Resp infection and the amoxicilian was for my saliva gland issue. These all have been taken throughtout the last year since exposure. Would Biaxin or amoxicial cure syphlis by themselves?. no more questions from me so I would like to thank you for your time!.

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

I am a 25 year old woman with fairly severe allergies to just about all the usual suspects. I recently came down with what appeared to be an ear infection- the first one in my life. I was prescribed antibiotics (allergic to penicillin, so I was given erythromyacin) the eyrthromyacin failed to work after about 10 days, so I was given biaxin, which failed at which time my eardrum ruptured and I was given cipro, and I had to discontinue do to adverse effects.

I have taken Erythromycin 2x, Clindamycin 3x and Biaxin. Nothing will cure the infection. I have seen 5 dentists and 2 endodontists and no one knows what to do for me. They essentially tell me I have an infection, presecribe some medication and push me out the door. I am at a loss as to what to do, but I can no longer continue with this pain. It has gotten to the point where somedays I just don't want to be alive anymmore. Please tell me what to do!

I finished that and here it is 2 days later, and I am feeling run down again and now I have a spot under my left ear that is sore and my ear canal is sore as well. My lungs are still congested and producing greenish mucous. An ultrasound did reveal a small cyst on my thyroid, but no reall attention is being paid to that right now. Something minor is also going on with my liver- my NP asked if I take a lot of tylenol.

Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

Took it for an upper respitory infection for 3 days and had terrible problems. The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects. Just this past winter, I had a UTI that wouldn't go away and was treated with Biaxin and another abx (I can't remember which one, I have to look...maybe Ceftin) and had a bad reaction to both of them. I went to the health food store and took a D-Mannose cranberry supplement instead of abx to get rid of the infection.

if anyone can tell me, it would be great since this is driving me up the wall, it is constant behind the ear over the right ear. and its like my ear has a mind of its own. I massage it, put pressure over different areas. and nothing. can any one help me pls?

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.

Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less.

I started taking Biaxin 2 days ago for a horrible throat infection. Since then my muscles have been weak and crampy (especially my calves with restless leg syndrome as well). I also am having horrible stomach cramps and nausea and I get an overwhelming metallic taste in my mouth (almost like bile actually). And the insomnia last night was unbearable. I haven't had insomnia in over a year. Has anyone else experienced this with Biaxin?

First let me explain that I have allergies, but that they're kept under control by antihistamines and nasal steroids, and really never bother me, aside from the fact that I'm often a bit congested (but rarely itchy or sneezy).

About 3 weeks or so after stopping antibiotics (Amoxicillin and Biaxin) I developed a flat, red, and sometimes itchy rash on both breasts and my stomach. Sometimes I get shooting pains in my breasts. It has not spread from these areas. I thought it could be a yeast infection, so I started applying Lotrimin cream. I've used it for 7 days and the rash isn't any better. Does this sound like it could be a yeast infection? Does the cream need longer to work?

So in my anxious state, I thought it best to be proactive and see if I could prevent any full infection from developing. I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.

Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. The doctor took blood and did a throat culture, in case I had strep or mono. Neither was present. BUT he gave me a different antibiotic for the sinus infection called Biaxin, for acute sinusitis, which has been working wonders after one day on it. But I just read that Biaxin is given to HIV/AIDS patients for Mycobacterium avium complex!!!! Is it possible that he did an HIV test without my knowledge and is now trying to treat me for it????
