Common Questions and Answers about Biaxin and sweating

biaxin

Consequently, I visited a local walk-in clinic in a diagnostic center, was re-diagnosed with bronchitis and put on Biaxin, which appears to have cleared things up. At the same time I visited a naturopath, who put me on a probiotic to counter the effect of the AB and it has done wonders for the bloating/pain associated w/IBS. None of this has had any effect on the "sweats". What tests would you propose to discover whether there is a chronic infection?
I have a past history of Lyme Disease and a current positive for Babesia. What is making me feel crummy? I am being treated with Biaxin and with Flagyl for the Babesia. Also, I formerly had H Pylori. I hope you can help.
He was placed on Biaxin and sent home. We are not just finishing week three of this ordeal and he is experiencing extreem fatigue, loss of appetite, vomiting and severe sweating to the point that it looks like he just got out of a shower. The Diabetes is under control with normal numbers taken multiple times a day and the cancer Dr tells us his symptoms are not related to his treatments or cancer. My son cant express what he is feeling and I'm afraid something is very wrong.

Certain infections like tuberculosis can cause constant coughing and an evening rise of temperature and increased sweating. This also causes a loss of appetite; as such this is accompanied by weight loss. So, record his temperatures, on a two hourly basis to detect an evening rise of temperature. X rays and blood tests help to diagnose this. Please check with your doctor to rule out this condition. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
It's not the same as the regular-yogurt-on-the-go drinks, but it's called Actimel which has 10 times the active cultures in it that yogurt does and it's proven to boost immunity and is great for the digestive tract. All of these measures have paid off for me, as the infections have significantly dropped off. I think the key is to be consistent in your preventive measures. Hope this is helpful. Good luck to you, I know how horrible those infections are.
Nancy don't show positive, my Bartonella test showed positive but my Babs was so obviously there, I got a clinical diagnosis as many people do. Symptoms of Babesia are extreme sweating and sir hunger. The most well known natural supplement for Babesia is Artemesia.(Sp?
The doctor thought it was bronchitis and gave me biaxin to try and prevent pneumonia (I have an IgA deficiency and have had pneumonia 7 times and I'm 23, 4 cases in the past 3 years). Now it's almost a week later and the bronchitis is clearing up but I am STILL running a fever. Tomorrow will mark 2 weeks of this low grade fever (99.5-101.4). I have not gotten it to break at all (I've even tried ice packs).
I was diagnosed with PAC's (benign heart palpitations) in 05' and they have since gotten worse, and I sometimes have feelings of shortness of breath or labored breathing and palm sweating. The symptoms seem to be getting progressively worse slowly. I'd been having some constipation as well as weight loss (a lot of which is due to poor eating habits from the severe anxiety that's been accompanying this). Dr.
I was given Biaxin XL x 7 days.My symptoms improved but only partially. On the 5th day of Biaxin, I became acutely SOB at rest and saw a respirologist who did PFT's with a Ventolin challenge. The test was normal and I was diagnosed with hyperventilation. The acute SOB subsided a few days later, but a mild SOB remains. 5 weeks later, due to persistence of symptoms, I took Avelox X 14 days. This gave me minimal improvement in symptoms. I was then given Prednisone 50mg qd for 5 day for a headache.

The doctor thought it was bronchitis and gave me biaxin to try and prevent pneumonia (I have an IgA deficiency and have had pneumonia 7 times and I'm 23, 4 cases in the past 3 years). Now it's almost a week later and the bronchitis is pretty much cleared up but I am STILL running a fever. Non-stop I have been running this low grade fever (99.5-101.4) for two and a half weeks. I have not gotten it to break at all (I've even tried ice packs).
I then went back to work. I was cancelling work days left and right as I was getting more and more tired and became sick again. I saw another microbiologist who decided to give me Avelox x 14 days in case there was some remaining mycoplasma. On my first night of avelox, I had the worse night sweats I have ever had. Avelox did not improve my symptoms. I had to stop work as I was too sick. I developed a severe headache and ended up in the emergency room 2 weeks later.
All was well until a couple weeks ago when I got sick and my PCP put me on Biaxin(antibiotic) and Predisone for 7 days... Heartrate see-sawed up and down and would hover between 89-120 all day long... I have been off the Biaxin & prednisone for a week now... and the heartrate is still up there. at rest I run between 95 and 109 contantly. I haven't seen anything below 90 in over 2 weeks. Anyone have some advice to throw at me? get this.. I can walk up my stairs.. and back down....fast...
I received a Rocephin and Decadron injection and was placed on Biaxin for 10days. I still have a low grade temp (not less than 99.4) and also have joint pain and night sweats. I went to my gynecologist for my yearly checkup and told him all this and he drew another CBC. He mentioned a systemic infection as well as possible lymphoma or leukemia. About 2 months ago, I came to the ER with abdominal pain and fullness, nausea and vomiting.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
A week later I saw another MD who prescribed Biaxin XL x 5 days. The fever dimished and my symptoms started to improve but reached a plateau. On the 5th day of antibiotics I became acutely short of breath, even at rest. I saw a respirologist who did PFT's with ventolin challenge and told me that everything was normal. After returning to work (I am an ENT surgeon) my symptoms progressively worsened again to the point where I have had to stop working completely.
Posted By dj on September 06, 1998 at 10:11:04: I am on my 2nd treatment for H. Pylori. Initially, I was undergoing a regimen of tetracycline & flagyl for 2 weeks and cimetidine for 30 days. I started to feel better almost immedi ately, but towards the end of the 2 week period my symptoms returned. Now I am on another regimen of amoxicillin & biaxin for 2 weeks and prevacid for a month. My question is this can H. Pylori mask other illnesses.
I have had 3 diagnosis of bronchitis in the past 6 months. Treated with biaxin, cipro and Z-pac which worked the best. Second round of Z-pak got rid of dry chronic cough, rapid heat beat when exerting myself, some sweating. Drs. have been treating me as having asthma in conjunction with these upper lung infections. Was on 5 days of steriods, followed by using Qvar 80 twice a day.
Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide.
Also, had another episode yesterday morning (before I took the Cat's Claw) of sudden heat and sweating and shaking of my hands and feeling like I needed food right that minute. Does this happen to anyone as a sign of Lyme? Thank you and Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
Just have an occasional episode of feeling like someone punched me in the chest, hyperventilating and sweating all over. It goes away after about 45 min to an hour and then I'm just exhausted. I also wonder about the post earlier this week on ulcerative colitis. There are some similarities. At this point, it feels like everyone's shooting in the dark.
brain fog and air hunger. Okay, I had a couple bouts of night sweats over a year ago, months before I started Lyme treatment. Obviously I have to give it more time, but I can't deny the change in my ability to take a deep breath. I also had two Lyme symptoms I haven't had in a while: bright flashing floaters for just a couple seconds, and brief tingling in a new place.
I am 32 years old, 5 9, and 154 lbs. When I was 17 years old and a meek 110 lbs, I was diagnosed via endoscopy with Grade One Esphoghatis (spelling). The doctor was baffled, as I was only 17 and weighed a small amount and was not a drinker or smoker. I was put on pepsid and my report said "the patient cannot lose weight to control the situation, she is already underweight). My report also said "one pepsid daily FOR LIFE". Anyway, I took the pepsid daily for seven YEARS.
It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it. The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after.
There are some that do cause anxiety. I was on Biaxin and amoxicillin this summer and developed an anxiety problem from them.
Biaxin and Omnicef, for ~6 months, then Zithromax and Flagyl, for ~6 months. Everyone is different, and every doc's approach is different, so a different approach is not necessarily wrong. My treatment was several years ago, and the current thinking may also be different.
