I don't know what's in your acai supplement, just remember it doesn't do all the things claimed for it. It's just a very nutritious berry, so don't expect the miracles claimed for it.

Perhaps you may want to journal your food and get a calorie count. MedHelp will be offering a food journal in approximately 3 weeks. In the meantime, with your height, weight and activity level (along with being male and 43 years old) it is possible to calculate the number of calories needed to maintain your weight.

What I've found the best way to lose weight is to find your maintenance level (you can find a rough calculator online) that will tell you about how many calories you burn in an avg day. Subtract around 250 calories and you've found your ideal calorie amount! Keep in mind you should take exercise into account as well. You should be shooting around -2 lbs a week.

If you only have a little to lose, 25-50 lbs, then 1200 calories is fine. Over 50 lbs you need to be a little more radical and move it down to 1000 per day. Remember, it takes a certain amount of calories to maintain your weight.

I will try the protein bars. Yes, I know that exercise is the main thing to lose weight and I've been slacking off. I must get back into that healthy habit.
