535822 tn?1443976780 Most oils combine different fats in them, and olive oil is one of them. It has some omega 3, some omega 6, some omega 9 fats. But if you do high heat cooking, it can't be your only oil. Some highly saturated oils, such as coconut and red palm, are quite good for you because they're also very high in antioxidants. Now, an interesting point. Everyone keeps talking about vegetable oils. There are no vegetable oils.

The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time. Now I don't dare take it even after my ablation for SVT because I don't want the other arrythmias.

Avatar m tn t purify it, meaning you get more than just the omega 3 oils, but that means you get less of the omega 3 oils and have to take more of them, and they are expensive. Cod liver oil shouldn't be taken regularly -- it can have a laxative effect, and the liver is a detoxification organ, meaning toxins accumulate there. It can be good for skin problems and other things, but for basic omega 3 you don't want liver oil.
Avatar m tn But there would be no harm in adding the Omega 3 oil to her food? Or adding it to a little mashed potato or sweet potato, mixing it in, and giving her bits of that as treats OK I know....a little messy...but maybe you could add this to her food?) It's also possible she will like the oil for its own flavour, and she might just lick it straight from a spoon?
Avatar f tn I visited my local GNC store to purchase some Omega 3 Fish Oil supplement. I bought the triple strength, and then asked while paying for it what was the normal dosage? He and another employee said "1,000mg per day." When I arrived home their "triple strength" is only 900 mg??? I have bought others that have always been 1,000mg and that is what I have been taking. Can someone please help me with what is the proper dosage? Thanks.

671251 tn?1236116671 I checked out some library books about childbirth. I got one book about diet called Healthy Eating During Pregnancy. It says that Omega 3 fatty acids are "brain building fats" for the baby's developing brain. It's especially important to eat a lot during the last three months of pregnancy when the brain grows so much. It's also good for the baby's nerves and eyes. These are found in fish oil, hemp oil, and flax oil primarily. The garlic and parsley is probably more of a waste of money, but it certainly won't harm you. Garlic works best combined with other nutrients, so a cholesterol lowering formula would be better than garlic by itself. Exercise and dietary changes are also necessary.
