The best way to lower blood pressure is to lose weight and lower the sodium (salt) intake into your body. It is great that you have lowered your sodium content of the food you eat. Suggest increasing your calorie intake to 1800 a day so that you can maintain your weight after you have lost it. Healthy eating and exercise will result in weight loss.
For lunch try something like a turkey wrap (on low carb wrap). You add things like low fat ranch dressing or veggies like cucumbers. Also if you can...cause I know some people cannot take this. But if you can take Green Tea vitamins. It helped me allot! All I did was the walking, watching what I eat and taking my green tea vitamins and it helped me lose about 50lbs. Also, are you taking anything else besides bc? I'm taking Metformin to help with weight loss.
I am about to try the aitkens diet any comments or tips i need to know?
I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
The best way to find a diet that you will stick with is by googling diet plans. Read up on each one and find which one you will like the best. Personally, I couldn't go without some carbohydrates in my diet. Maybe you are stronger than me though. I have seen it work but usually the person breaks and goes back to carbohydrates and gains all the weight back. Some carbohydrates can be good for you.
I have put myself on a very low carb diet, consisting only of 6grms of carbs for b/fast then 12grms for lunch and dinner, i have been doing this for 8 months and my sugars are slowley improving. b4 they used to be jumping from 2.5 to 25 (uk measures) daily, now they rarely hit 8 or drop to 3.5. so, in that sense i think im getting somewhere on that side of things-whew! I am finding the bloating and pain is less likely to happen when i eat soups, which is a bit of a find!
Finally, I decided to try something different...Low carb diet not to exceed 20 carbs per day. Well, it has been one week and I lost 5.5 pounds!!!
Hi! Is anyone starting the HCG diet on Black Friday? I will be doing it 4 weeks thanksgiving to christmas? Do you want to start a support group?
I too am on the hcg diet shots as well as b12 shots. My doctor put me on a low glycemic diet instead of the 500 calorie diet. In 4 days I have lost 4 lbs! That is good enough for me!! My diet is still similar to yours but I have oatmeal for breakfast in the mornings. I am drinking 3-4 quarts of water a day.
Hi there, I have been taking Slimquick for 3 weeks and I have lost over 9 pounds. Keep in mind that I am also eating a very low carb diet and drinking a ton of water. I have lost the 9 pounds without exercising. I was 148 and now I'm 138.5. I am still only taking 1 pill twice a day because when I take two I definitely get speeded out for a couple of hours and I don't like it. I'm wearing pants that I haven't been able to wear for a year. I feel great. good luck!
here's a list of atkins diet food i know its more low carb stuff but it does give the list of processed meats and the chocolate to avoid. http://lowcarb4life.sugarbane.com/lowcarbfoods.
Dr. K. says that the gluten panels are not always accurate and the best test is the elimination diet. I've been gluten-free for two months. I now need less thyroid hormone. That's proof for me. In the next few weeks, I'll be starting on a gut detox program, to repair all the damage, gluten, yeast, (YES, candida can be an issue with us, too) etc has done to my gut, under the guidance of a doctor trained by Dr. K. I will let everyone on this forum know how I'm progressing. One more thing.
Converting foods other than carbohydrates into energy is stressful, even to a normal liver. By eating an unbalanced diet that is low in complex carbohydrates, a person with liver disease will add to the stress that the disease has already caused the liver. In fact, this is one reason why so many people with liver disease feel fatigued. Simply put, their diets are working against them.
• Put it in a doggy bag: When eating out, split your meal with a friend or ask the waiter to put half of your meal in a to-go box as soon as your food arrives. • Eat slowly: If you tend to eat quickly, your brain may not get the message that it’s full until it’s too late. Savor your food, eat slowly and pay closer attention to feelings of fullness.
I have heard that a low carb diet is best Thanks\helaine

I'm not a fan of Low Carb. Check out the Paleo diet. It is sort of low carb but you only eat high quality meat, fish, eggs, plus tons of veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds and healthy fats. Go more for high quality meat like organic grass fed beef rather than cheap bacon. I make a lot of fruit and veggies smoothies like orange juice with apples, broccoli, carrots etc. Tastes better than it sounds. If you are already on a low carb diet, you should definitely check out the Paleo diet.
hey m 32 and 85 kg in weight. m on low calorie n carb diet for last 2 month...but dont even do moderate exercise..i have a big tummy...allot of fat on my tummy area. pls give me your suggestion to reduce it.
The primary care physician wasn't a bad guy, but we didn't agree on what was best for my health and it is time for us to go our separate ways, as I no longer have any trust in his decisions. I am happy to say I found a new primary care physician. I had a check-up with him this morning and he is a great guy, with a friendly personality and a sense of humor. I like that he is a good listener and has no problems with my wanting to be an active participant in my health care decisions.
I didn't take it every day, and it still controlled my increased carb cravings. Other than that I eat an extremely healthy, low-fat diet. Through participating in a medical research study for pay, it was verified that all of my internal organs are in fab condition. I'm self-pay and willing to finance weight loss. What do you recommend? Where should I go near China Town/Gold Coast/Palms? Does Qsymia or fen/topiramate really work? Do I need vitamin B shots?
Before I got pregnant (7 weeks now!), I would run 5-6 miles/day, stick to a low calorie low glycemic index diet, and still be able to put on 10 lbs within 6 months! It is very frustrating but not impossible to lose weigh with PCOS, it is just MUCH harder.
That is not the same though as good and nuitious food can also be fattening and therefore should be consumed in full balance to low carb veggies and protains.
therefore that's why most of us have weight issues. Low carb diets are way HARD to follow. I mean some only allow you 30 carbs a day...which is nothing! And very hard for somebody to live like that. I follow my diet/weight on a site called (without all the spaces) www.m y f i t n e s s p a l.com and I love it! It totals all the amounts of calories, fats, carbs, sugars and almost anything else. Here are a few tips that I picked up while I was at my lowest weight (271 with a weight loss of 62lbs!
I have decided to start the new treatment program in January. Several of the Forum members indicated that it would be best to rid myself of the virus so I don't contaminate a new liver and have to go through all of this again in the future. Fatigue and brain fog are still the most troubling symptoms I deal with. I have been having some nausea after taking my pills and the Krystalose. I have continued to lose weight and am now down to 174 - I just don't have much of an appetite.
What is the best diet pill to lose 30 unwanted pounds? I'm 30 pounds overweight and I cant lose them. Suggestions?
