Avatar f tn It might take a little experimenting to see what works best for you, but generally a 20-minute warmup is best before upping your speed or resistance, and make sure to cool down again before you step off the elliptical. It won't last forever. Your body will become accustomed to your workouts and soon you'll see it'll take a lot more to make you feel icky. Keep at it girl!
Avatar f tn ve been swimming a lot during my pregnancy as it feels so nice to exercise without feeling the weight of your belly. Walking as often as possible is also good. These are the only exercises I did but depends on your ability and fitness level. I had breathlessness throughout my preg so anything else was too much much me.
Avatar n tn Hi, as such there are no exercises which reduce hernia. If you want to know about exercises which do not aggravate hernia then you may go for a walk or even light exercises like jogging. The exercises which need to be avoided are weightlifting or heavy weight training. Yoga is okay. Unfortunately, heavy exercises too will worsen the condition, so I would not recommend these till you are properly evaluated by a surgeon.

(Sometimes they do this in a boot-camp type gym -- they'll run the group out to the parking garage and have them run up all the flights of stairs.) Anyway, say you can do one flight of stairs in a certain amount of time. The next time, you challenge yourself to do either more steps or faster times.

Avatar f tn Walking. If you weren't exercising before the pregnancy then stick to walking/speed walking pregnancy isn't the time to start any new workouts. That's what my doctor and mom (she's a personal trainer) have told me since I wad exercising I jog and speed walk for at least 45 mins or sometimes less depending on what my body is telling me. You can try squats but make sure to use proper form!

I can do more push-ups and isometric exercises to build upper body strength--I was worried that after cracking my sternum the muscles would atrophy so very quickly I did modified exercises. Should I be careful in extreme heat and cold weather? I feel reasonably good but don't want to push too hard and get in trouble.

Avatar f tn I will suggest to walk, I know at 2 weeks I felt fine but even doing simple exercises took a toll on my body. I will suggest light stretches, yoga maybe pilates.

Avatar f tn I downloaded the apps "Daily Workouts free" and "Lose Weight Fitness and Workouts", those two apps have a ton of workouts for targeted areas or your whole body. They are also short videos so they show you how your body is supposed to be positioned. Daily Workouts also times you in intervals. Hope this helps if you're able to download apps. I also have the app "Fitness Buddy", but I haven't looked at it as much, that one looks more targeted towards men.
