Avatar f tn Your most effective and healthy choice is going to be eating at least 1200calories worth of lean protein and fruits veggies and some whole grain. Anything else is a fad diet and will not produce lasting results.
1389971 tn?1280185901 I don't believe in diets to be honest.I think the only way to get thin and remain thin is to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Which means avoiding junk food, fried/greasy food and sweets and eat vegetables, fruit, legumes, fish and low fat meat. Don't skip breakfast, don't eat high in calories food after 8pm and if you get cravings and such eat a yogurt or a salad or a small bar of bitter chocolate. Also you should try working out one hour a day.

Keep in mind that when you do a program or take a supplement, you're not learning any skills that will keep you healthy in the longer term.

It really hasn't affected me in any bad way physically. I haven't had any more blood tests yet, I was due to have one at the end of August but forgot all about it. I have noticed how I seem to have more energy now too.
Avatar f tn Honestly it's dangerous on your health to loose weight too quickly. Extreme dieting can lead to malnutrition and rapid weight loss can cause problems like gallstones. I know the Biggest Looser makes it all seem so easy to loose fast, but they are constantly watched by drs monitoring everything they do. It's recommended to keep weight loss between 1-2 lbs a week.

After posting my symptoms about 2 months back, most of the feedback i received was to see a G.I Doc. and that it sounded like my gallbladder.Following a major Gallbladder attack, trip to the E.R and still no solid answers (except for no gallstones). I saw a wonderful G.I Doc. who recommended the Hida Scan. It was done on Monday, it took my gallbladder almost the full 1st hr. of the exam to start filiing and about 65min. to fill completely.

There are many fad diets, such as the many high protein diets popular today, and they might work well for you, but long-term data isn't so good on them. I was on Atkins for approximately 5 months (something happened and I completely stopped eating, but it isn't related to the diet). The results were fantastic. By the end of the second week I (a carb lover) didn't want to eat carbs although I was still eating fruits and veggies. I lost weight and I felt good.
Avatar m tn I have tried counting calories, weight watchers and all sorts of advertised diets/shakes/programs and nothing worked for me. I started eating a paleo like diet with no results other than feeling better so I kept tweaking it, dropping certain high carb veggies (mainly starchy ones like sweet potatoes and carrots). I have a thyroid issue so weight loss has been nearly impossible for me. My scale didn't go down on any "diet" I tried. Sometimes it even went up.

I know I can trigger the attacks by movement of my head but I also get attacks by putting various foods in my mouth. I really don't even get a chance to taste them since I go into pain immediately. Do you have a list of triggering foods available?
Avatar f tn the majority of that loss was in the first 3 months. diet is the best way. exercise is important for over all health, but overweight people generally see the biggest results come from changes in diet. i drink only water. i cut out burgers almost completely...i've had 3 this year. last year, i had 2 or 3 or 4 a week! cut out a lot of simple carbs and replaced it with complex carbs and protein. diets produce results, but ultimately learning to eat properly is the way to go.

Sure enough, this last IVF cycle, I got my AF 2 days before my pregnancy test, expecting the results to be negative once again and to our surprise, we got a positive result (it was a low positive, but nonetheless a positive!). I had my AF for a full 3 days, full flow and my numbers are still more than doubling every 2 days.
