Common Questions and Answers about Best diet herbal teas

Avatar f tn Actually some green teas are safe, all depends on the brand and what else it may contain. No diet teas!! No weight loss teas!! Stay very far away from these...lime blossom, anise, rose hip, catnip, ephedra, comfrey, European mistletoe, hibiscus, horehand, labrador, lemon grass, licorice root and mugwart. These are potentially dangerous and not worth taking a chance on!! Also check online at American Pregnancy.com. You will find it very helpful choosing a safe non-herbal and herbal tea.
Avatar f tn I have read so many different things regarding herbal teas. There seems to be a controversy whether or not red rasberry tea is safe during the first trimester. My doctor suggest drinking up to 4 cps a day, but now I am down to 1 because of the stuff I have read. Can this tea cause miscarriage?
Avatar f tn Other herbal teas you should consult your physician on because some are best to avoid during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn But about 15 years ago I visited Hong Kong and I went to a Herbal doctor. Told him my health problems. Long and short he gave me a mixture of herbs that I took home and brewed as a tea. It fixed what was bothering me in a week. Now the question is there a web site or a phone number to one of these places in the USA? When ever I google and serf the internet I only get pills. That is not the same thing. Thanks for listening.
Avatar f tn OK I see online a lot of confusing questions about hot teas and I wanted to see if you could give me advise or opinion of drinking hot decaffeinated teas I love to drink the hot herbal peach tea. Do you think it's safe ? Please help I can't find anything about it and I want to drink it but not if it's bad or hurtful to my baby.
5961981 tn?1394033182 I'm 32 weeks along and being the winter months, I've really been craving a nice, hot cup of tea, so I did my research and found out that these sites all contradict themselves, some say certain herbal teas are fine in moderate amounts, others say don't drink any at all, so it's really confusing. So far, the only one that really seems to be recommended is rooibos tea, but I don't know where to find it.
Avatar f tn I will ask at my next appointment but does anyone know if this includes herbal teas? Ive been having trouble sleeping and wanted to try Celestial Seasonings SleepyTime herbal tea but was hesitant.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?

722172 tn?1230739533 Stay away from herbal tea!!!! And green tea!!!! Herbal teas can cause uterine contractions and have been feared to cause miscarriages. The green tea has too much antioxidants (ecg stuff) that act similar to caffeine and I believe and the baby cannot process it and it can become toxic quickly. If you google green tea and pregnancy there are some scary articles out there about avoiding it. You can safely drink regular decaf tea (black tea...
Avatar f tn Green tea is not the safest, it naturally has more caffeine than regular tea. Decaffeinated teas, and herbal teas like peppermint (where the only ingredient is peppermint leaves) are the safest. Your best to just read your labels and talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn Peppermint tea was a lifesaver for me in the first trimester. Peppermint and ginger teas are considered safe herbal teas in pregnancy. For any other herbal teas I'd first consult your Dr.
Avatar f tn I was always told teas that can relax you like chamomile tea can cause preterm labor in some women.
Avatar n tn Anyone know if herbal teas are okay to drink while pregnant??? I'm currently 28 weeks & I LOVE tea but I've heard a few things about certain herbs & was unsure if they were gonna have a negative effect on my unborn.
Avatar f tn Raw foods, fish, raw eyes, sushi, herbal teas, aspirin, ibuprofen, harsh house hold cleaners, cat litter boxes, etc... Some herbal teas induce miscarriages. Make sure to clean fruit and vegetables properly. Definitely start taking prenatal vitamins.
Avatar f tn t drink more than one a day of chamomile, nothing with licorice root. Peppermint is my go to or just fresh lemon and honey. Where I am, most herbal teas say on the box if you are pregnant or breastfeeding how many you can have.
590110 tn?1367506741 if you can get them, the camomile and spearmint one is good, I put honey in it and it helps relax you, especially good to have a couple of cups before bedtime :)
9842459 tn?1411688168 Is it okay to drink herbal tea while pregnant? I love the teas they sell at tevanna and when I go to the mall I plan on getting one if its okay to drink.
Avatar f tn There's little information on the safety of herbal teas in pregnancy so here in the UK we're recommended to drink no more than four cups of herbal or green tea a day during pregnancy. Regular tea is fine, again in moderation.
Avatar f tn Hi there, A detailed evaluation is necessary before deciding the correct management of your condition. Herbal teas may interfere with birth control pills. It also depends on what birth control pills you are using and many more factors will suggest you to discuss it with your gynecologist about it and tell your concerns. I sincerely hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Following a colonoscopy ( for long term diarrhea) my doc informed me everything is normal, and the biopsies show no indication of any abnormalities EXCEPT melanosis - which is likely from a history of laxatives of diet teas. I told him I've never taken laxatives or diet teas and left it at that. I don't think he believed me however, as he offered no other explanation. He did not seem concerned, so nor was I.
5679001 tn?1372219764 The tea itself might bother you depending on what kind it is and how much caffeine it contains. Herbal teas are better.
